    shrimp spring roll
    Stephanie Huang ..

We ordered the #1 and #15 which were both delicious! I loved the pho broth and the tenderized beef on #15 was a favorite! The $7 spring rolls were a great deal, but the flavor profile was a bit lacking compared to other shrimp spring rolls I've had. We also got a free sago dessert at the end which was a pleasant surprise! We would come back if we are ever in the area and craving pho. The service was also fast and friendly!

I came here with my in-laws for a late night dinner as they're always on the hunt for a great, non homemade pho option. They're definitely tougher critics than I am (as I don't have grandparents/family recipes to compare them to) but I'm always happy to tag along with them. The interior of the restaurant is small and I could see that it could be a bit tough to move around if they're busy. They also have little to no waiting area inside so if you aren't seated right away, chances are you'll be hanging outside in the parking lot. But we were there when the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full and we could move around easily & not feel like we were talking over other guests. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, but not so much so that it felt like they were trying to move us along with everything. I appreciated that. The menu is quite extensive. Yes, Pho is in the name but there are plenty of other Vietnamese options. I opted for the shaken beef plate. I wanted to get the version with fries, but my wife accidentally told the woman in Vietnamese that I wanted just the regular version. I guess I'll have to come back another time to see how it compares to one of my favorite dishes: Peruvian lomo saltado. However, I will say the standard plate I was served was delicious. Everything was well seasoned & cooked perfectly. Definitely one of the best bò lúc lắc dishes I've had in a restaurant in awhile. We had a good meal. My in-laws said the pho was fine. I think it tasted good. Our 3 kids slurped their bowls all up so that's a great sign. In all, if we're in the El Toro area & want some Vietnamese food, we'll absolutely be back.

I got the cubed fish fillet. The food was delicious, though sides like the rice were just plain white rice. Alright plate presentation. Prices are very reasonable. Service was slow. Ambiance is basic casual booth seating, and a few outside tables.

This spot is one of the best for Vietnamese food in south OC. Our apps were super fresh. The fresh rolls were crunchy with a very solid amount of protein--the pork was perfectly seasoned. The egg rolls were crispy and decadent. Good sauces. The wait staff was efficient and knew the menu well. Great for lunch or dinner!

Amazing Vietnamese Egg Rolls! The crispy skin wrap is thin and perfect with the nuoc mam dipping sauce. Make sure to get this! The complimentary tapioca dessert is also delish. The filet mignon garlic noodles and Spring Rolls which were both just ok. The beef was blander than I prefer, and I don't like that they used spaghetti noodles instead of egg noodles.

Went to visit my brother and the fam and he suggested this place for lunch. Pretty busy place looks popular with the locals. Food is decent. They have those pork rolls like Brodard but not as good (iykyk). I ordered grilled pork and shrimp plate with rice. The pork had a lemongrass flavor to it, so that was different than what I'm used. Over all, good service and food.

My mom took me to one of her favorite places. Fresh and hot and service is wonderful service by Hai. Hai was super nice and polite. I would definitely go back. We had egg roll and spring rolls. Chicken bites and all meat pho.

Went on a Friday for lunch and was pleasantly surprised that they were busy. They have a decent menu but I went to get pho. I ordered a number 4, which is the beef meatballs pho. It came in a timely manner and I was happy that they didn't skimp on the meatballs. Other places cut them into fourths but they cut theirs into halves. Overall it was a good meal.

Always consistently kind and fast service. The food never disappoints and the free dessert is a nice touch! Simple decor that mixes modern with some Asian touches.

Pho broth and noodles were OK. It was simple and basic, it needs more flavor. The noodles were nearly edible. After three bites, I had to fight hard to finish. The beef was tender and nicely cooked. Thus, the three stars, otherwise the broth and noodles were two stars. Place itself was nice and clean. Service was also a plus. So... I will be back to try other dishes, but not the pho. ENJOY!

I got the shaking beef. The beef was pretty good. Most of the pieces were pretty soft and tender, but there were just a few pieces that were a tad tough. The flavor was just right. Originally I was a bit concerned that it might be too sweet because I don't like my meat too sweet, but they didn't over do it. The fries were not bad either. I'm normally not a fries person but it was pretty good. Some prices were extra crispy and some a bit soggy. So just depends what you prefer. The best part I would say is the green sauce. It went well with the beef. Overall I would say it was pretty good and I would come back for this dish and try some other ones. I took some menu picks cus all of them that are up are almost unreadable.

No. 3 pho w steak. Large.

Got the chicken pho to go and the chicken was really dry and tough. Had to chew a lot for it to breakdown. :(

Any broths that are soy and gluten free?

    Pho-get about it!

Is there shrimp in the egg rolls?

Is there MSG in their broth?

Very little. I get an allergic reaction to it and so far, I haven't with their broth like I do with the other pho places in the area

Do they have a vegetable broth pho, or are all the broths meat based?

We had vegetable broth and it was gluten free for me 👍

Do they have bun bo hue (with pork blood)?

    No they do not

I am giving this place a 5/5 rating solely on their pho (and bun bo hue)…read more Their broth was very flavorful and had a lot of depth for being free of msg! There aren't a lot of restaurant that offer bun bo hue, so I thought I'd also give that a try. I ordered the pho special, but swapped the pho broth for BBH because I saw another review on here mention they did that - and I am so happy I did! It was really tasty and flavorful with the perfect hint of spicy! I would say I'm pretty picky with food and I would bring my Vietnamese parents here. 5/5 on their taro smoothie. I like that it tastes like fresh taro. I don't really like when it tastes too artificial or too sweet, like the taro milk teas from boba shops. It's also extremely light. Super refreshing on hot days. For being a pho shop in lake Forest and not having to drive all the way to Westminster or bolsa. 5/5 on their pho 5/5 on their bun bo hue 5/5 on their vermicelli noodle dishes. I liked their fish sauce with the sambal 3/5 on the shaken beef (bo luc lac) they don't give you a lot and texture was a bit inconsistent. Flavor was good but wouldn't order it again for the price 2/5 on the chicken curry (ca ri ga) I'm used to Vietnamese curry being a bit sweeter and more coconut/creamier? It tasted a little unbalanced, not enough cream and too much spices (tumeric + cumin + coriander). Slightly salty and watery. I didn't like the chicken either . Service is good when you walk in to be seated and when ordering, but they don't always check in if you need water. You just flag them down. Not a big deal. I'm more interested in how the food tastes. I like that the inside reminds me of typical pho restaurants. Nice and simple. Here for the food! I'll be back!

The ambiance was chill. Lay back decoration, clean and cozy. The food was missing the protein portion. The spring shrimp roll had very tiny shrimps so i didnt get the taste of shrimp. About Banh mi, the same thing as you see in the picture the meat portion is too little in compare to bread. Most of each part was bread so tasting mostly like bread If not the meat itself was delicious when i tried separately. They didnt offer jalapeños or lemon. I grew up eating Bun thit nuong - vercimilli with grilled pork and it is rare to find a restaurant that can nail this exact flavor .The rice noodle was not overcooked, they incluced pickle, chopped veggies and egg roll, every condiment was on point . The star of the dish was the grilled pork and it was perfectly seasoned. Such a refreshing dish to eat in the summer. I also tried their Garlic Noodle with shrimp and the shrimps were giant! Not overcooked. Very nice seasoning. I'd like the green sauce to be condensed but their version is on the liquidly side. Overall, I will come back next time to try other dishes!

At first taste, the broth was fatty (supposed to be clear broth), lacked depth, and didn't have enough sweet to balance the salty. When I finally dug into the contents of the bowl, suddenly the broth was almost flavorless. This tells me either they're recipe just sucks or they're watering down the broth. I BARELY dressed the broth with a little bit of sriracha, so there's no way it would have stood up to my usual routine. Speaking of dressing, wtf is a lemon doing on the plate of accoutrements??? Always lime, never lemon! Meats were fine. The red onion instead of white onion was weird, but not blasphemous like the lemon. They fail miserably on the broth, which is the most important part of this meal!
