I had Mitchell's towing come to move my car, the driver used random pieces of wood from near by bushes to support the tires while he re positioned his truck. I had applied the e brake but he took it off and put the car in gear and while reassuring me he has done this many times and my car would be just fine. The car rolled back and fell 2 1/2 - 3 feet smashing down onto the tow bars of the truck cracking my bumper in two places. He called his supervisor and took my info and pictures of the damage. The manager insisted I not report the damage as they would have it fixed themselves. I tried contacting them by email and phone with no reply, so stopped into the north van office to be given the same email I had already contacted and nothing more. When they did get back to me, one week later, the manager denied that they had dropped and damaged my car splitting the bumper in two places. I have now filed a claim with ICBC and will have to pay the deductible as well as paying Mitchell's towing full price to damage my car and cause me more stress on my already stressful day. Unbelievably rude customer service reps, asking me if it sounds like she's joking??? I asked for a manager and was told I could wait outside for one as they weren't present. I said I was disabled and couldn't sit outside in the cold. She said there was a park across the street? I asked if I could just wait inside, she said no, now leave. I asked if they had a chair outside in the sun where it wouldn't be so bad for me. I'm only able to walk a little before seriously tiring and can't walk over to the park or stand for long. The manager then came in and laughed at me saying I'm not going to give you a chair? So disrespectful!!! read more

I had to get my non-running 15 year-old heritage vehicle to Surrey, and selected Mitchell's because their price and presentation were the best. I am pleased to report their customer service is also top notch. The operator arrived at the scheduled time, I was called ahead of time as promised, he was very helpful and thorough in getting the vehicle prepped, and was also helpful at the destination. Bullies who will use shady tactics to steal your money. Very dishonest and unethical business practices. Avoid like the plague.Treated my 84-year-old father like dirt, probably because of his ethnicity and age. This happened a few months ago in the fall of 2019, long before COVID. Although we can't prove it, my father was treated badly and bullied by two big men because he was defenceless. He was fearful and shaken after his encounter with them. They hooked up his car to be towed when he was standing right by his car, waiting for another senior with mobility issues, even though he had not left the car. He said that they were menacing and mean. When I called them and asked them for an apology, they were dismissive and refused. All it would have taken is, "We're sorry our men treated your father so poorly" and I would not be writing this review. Mitchell's Towing lacks professionalism and integrity. read more

This location is not closed. For anyone considering using Mitchell's Towing for their car, I strongly discourage you from doing so. To Mitchell's Towing: I visited your North Vancouver lot this morning and I am absolutely appaled by the unprofessional nature of your employees and the verbal harassment I experienced while trying to retrieve my car. When I arrived on site this morning with my boyfriend at 7AM (which is when the establishment is supposed to open) I had to wait outside until almost 7:15AM for the doors to be opened. After we were finally let into the building, your employees were unable to find my boyfriends car in the system and repeatedly asked us if we were sure his car had been towed. As we could see his car in the lot, we offered to show your employees where it was to which he responded with "mam, I am going to have to ask you to calm down, there are several Nissans in our system and we need the license place to locate yours." All I had done was offer to make YOUR employees lives easier by demonstrating where my boyfriend's car was in the lot, as they couldn't find it in the system. We then had to wait for another 10 minutes for his car to be entered INTO the system, despite the car being towed the night before, which means that had there been a break into Mitchells Towing the night before and my boyfriends car stolen there would be no record of the car even being on the lot. This is incredibly unprofessional and dangerous as it would void one's insurance. After my car was finally entered into the system, I was charged for TWO DAYS of storage despite the fact that the car had been towed not even 10 hours prior, and registered into the system as I stood there waiting to pick it up. I explained to the woman that we, in fact, came last night to pick my car up as online it states that Mitchell's Towing is open 24 hours, only to discover that it was closed. Therefore despite the fact that we had both attempted to pick the car up an hour after it was towed based on inaccurate information provided by YOUR business, and the fact that the car was not even registered in the system until 10 minutes ago, we were charged for two days storage. How is this logical? Especially when the area that we were towed from does not have any signage stating parking is not allowed. Furthermore, we were overcharged for all of the fees associated with the price of towing. We were charged 22 dollars for fuel, while the car was only towed 1.7KM. According to the towing fuel charges that are established by the government of BC in the Motor Vehicle Act, we were overcharged for fuel, the impound fee, and for days that the car was impounded. Normally we would not have paid this, however as we needed my car back we did not have a choice to not do so. So we figured that it would be better to pay the fees and deal with the overcharges later. After we finally paid $241 to retrieve my vehicle, we thought that we would be able to just retrieve the vehicle and finally leave. When we met the short man (whose name was never given to me, probably out of concern that I would complain due to his crass language and unprofessional behaviour) he told me that the car plates were not registered to a name, but rather to GMC. I thanked him for letting me know, and walked to the car. He told me to "watch my attitude" and threatened to not release the car from the lot. I replied to him that I was firstly, confused as to how he knew where the plates were registered given the fact the car was not registered to the lot until about 15 minutes ago, and secondly, that the car was not registered to GMC given the fact it is a Nissan, and Nissan is not owned by GMC. Nissan is its own entity under Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi. I thought of offering to show him insurance papers that demonstrate where and to whom the car and plates are insured, however as he was not acting reasonably I decided against it. I thanked him for letting me know that the plates were not registered (even though this is not accurate), and got into the car to drive away. As my boyfriend began to drove away, he yelled after us something audible, followed by "fuck face" and gave me the finger. I immediately called MItchell's Towing to complain about both the cost we were charged, and the employee's behaviour and asked to speak to a manager. I was redirected to an email, from which I am concerned I will never hear from. I genuinely, cannot believe how unprofessionally, rudely and I was treated this morning. Quite frankly, given the fact that I was verbally harassed and taken advantage of monetarily, and not given any direction as to whom I could speak with to complain, I have gone online to post this to warn others about this business, and to hopefully get an answer from the company as I believe this is the only way in which I will get a response. read more

I just had my car break down on my way to the ferry, heading home for Thanksgiving. I cannot praise this company enough. The driver weighed all my options - leaving my car in Vancouver, having someone pick it up later, or them towing it to Nanaimo for me. He went out of his way to find the most affordable option, and when I told him I'd rather he just tow it over on the ferry, he was happy to do so. He was friendly, considerate, great with my daughter, and made an expensive and stressful experience so much better. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. I called Mitchell's Towing just before the snow came and they said they would be 30 to 40 minutes ....well 3 hours later I recieved a call stating that they could not get me because of the snow that had now fallen ...I had not recieved any calls at that point letting me know they would be late or they could not retrieve my car because of the snow ....Day 2 .....I called and they remember me and my car and they said ..we will get there within the hour....it was all day before I heard from them and they now said that they could not retrieve my car ..yet ..once again ....Day 3 in today ...and I call and they just told me that they will not be retrieving my car and to find someone else .......what company makes excuses for there actions verses stepping up and accepting that they are at fault for being so untimely and doing so with pity poor attitudes ...I would not suggest using Mitchell's Towing as they are more apt to fill you with excuses than to tow your vehicle read more

My car broke down and I inquired about either getting it towed to a pay lot or what their policy was if we chose to store it at their lot overnight. We were mislead about the fees for storing our vehicle at their lot and were forced to pay an extra $50 just to have the vehicle released from their lot. These arent your friendly bcaa trucks out to help stranded motorists - the Mitchells guys slowly cruise parking lots and alleys looking to pounce on anything parked illegally. They had no issue hauling it down to Vancouver to the repair shop, the driver was friendly and professional and a prime example of what the towing experience should be.
