I selected this vet after a number of favorable recommendations from locals. I called them to schedule my appointment and spent about 10 minutes on the phone explaining the situation with my dog and I need to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. The appointment was booked for this morning at 11:10. When I arrived, I was abruptly told that I scheduled the wrong type of appointment. I explained to her that I didn't schedule the appointment that their scheduler did after I explained my situation to him thoroughly. She stated that the type of appointment that I had for today was simply for observations. They could not give any vaccinations or do any other type of medical diagnosis. What a waste of my time. But I asked when their next available appointment would be for the type of appointment that evidently I needed, she stated that they were booked two weeks out. How frustrating. Based on my experience, I simply cannot recommend this office. I was very disappointed to say the least. read more

Let's just start by saying that I love what the SFA vets are doing for the community. The low cost for great animal care is commendable and appreciated. I normally go to the Pineville office but it is just coming back around to appointments. This location is far for me and I feel it takes a little while longer to be seen. I had an appointment at 10 and wasn't seen until 10:45. I had to go in and see if they forgot about me. But once you're seen you're out in a jiffy. So that's a plus. The office is clean as well. I just wish people would read with comprehension because the sign says leave pets in car...they just keep going right in with their animals. read more

Very affordable pricing for having my puppy neutered. It's drop off and pick up style. I appreciate the ability to schedule online and then drop the puppy off for a later pick up. However, Pickup was a little unorganized and chaotic with the room full of people being asked to line up, people rushed the tables. It would've been nice if there were more order many of the patrons were irritated by this method. I was annoyed that I paid for the Chip to be installed in my Puppy, but they were unable to register the Chip and when I attempted to Email, I was not given a response. But at least the puppy is neutered now. read more

I heard about stand for animals in Nextdoor. Many cat owners recommended them as a quick, loving place for animal care that is also affordable. Sounded amazing and I was looking for a new vet after moving. I booked an appointment for my 5 year old cat. He's gone to the vet every year and never had any issues. He does take a few minutes to warm up, but not long. Pretty typical of all cats I've owned throughout my life especially for a new area with many animal smells around. He's been given compliments for how chill he is from every vet who has seen him. The front desk staff were great, the vet tech was also friendly. My cat was gone 15-20 minutes and brought back by a different vet technician. She informed me they could not proceed with his vaccines because he had bit the vet technician. I was shocked. He's never been aggressive and barely even hisses. I was told he could only come back if he was sedated. The woman at the front desk offered to book an appointment where I could be in the room with him and acknowledged that he was experiencing high levels of stress. After I left, I received a phone call that said I was given incorrect information. They had in fact given him 3 shots and needed payment. My cat has never had an issue remotely close to this before. It's worth noting that he had also pooped in his carrier (he's never had an accident before) and was visibly shaking. I took him out once I got to my car and he immediately curled up on my lap. He did not move and was extremely scared - tail between the legs and the whole works. What on earth happened? Why wouldn't you allow an owner to be in the same room as their pet? How do you give 3 shots, get bitten and induce a bathroom accident in 15 minutes but then blame the animal? The same animal who has been reported as an ideal, calm patient by other veterinarians? A key responsibility for a vet is to create a safe and calm environment for the animals who they are treating. They failed. It's not worth the time I save driving there or their reduced fees. The one star is for the front desk staff members who were kind and spoke softly to him after the appointment. It is unfortunate that he didn't receive similar treatment and understanding from the vet. read more

I have used this service it started in a house on Daviid St Charlottea about 14 years ago. Today I had an appointment and gave the meds to calm her as required. They denied it saying she was too anxious. and I had to come back. They would give me the OTHER meds she needed and told me to come back. I trusted Stand for Animals with a tiny kitten named Precious. She tested positive for feline leukemia and instead of helping her or finding a way to care for her, they went ahead and spayed her and then euthanized her. Precious was just a little life who deserved love and a chance to survive. Watching her be treated this way was devastating and feels like a betrayal of everything an animal clinic should stand for. I was extremely disappointed it Stand For Animals. I took my 4yr old cat in for 3 things. 1) update rabies vaccine 2) trim her nails 3) anal glands expressed She wasn't back there for 5 minutes! I was told they couldn't cut her nails? They said cat's don't need their anal glands expressed and she is scooting and constantly grooming because she's fat...they did not make any recommendations for her diet either. If they didn't want to, or didn't know how to express her anal glands/cut her nails then that's what they should have said! ANYONE who knows ANYTHING, knows that occasionally a cat will need their anal glands expressed! I know she's hard to trim her nails, I even offered to help...but nope, didn't do that either! I'm completely appalled, and don't even know where to begin. I brought my cat in for his neutering surgery today. A receptionist asked me if I wanted the cone, (I said yes $10), She asked if I wanted flea treatment, I said no), She then asked if I wanted his nails trimmed (I said no). Fast forward to me coming to pick him up, once his name is called I walk to the front (check out) for my total for the visit. He's on the kitty package and his surgery was already covered, I just owed $10 for his cone, right? We'll, I got the desk and she said my total was $22.... I said, "Um for what?" She then lists his cone ($10), nail trimming ($5), and flea treatment ($7) So they trimmed his nails when i said NO, then they proceed to give him flea treatment because they found A flea. I understand for the protection of the other fur babies it was necessary....... It's the fact nobody called to tell me I was getting charged for extra services. After paying for the flea, and cone, I go back to pick him up, I'm presented with his carrier I brought him in. Inside is my little woozy baby...... COVERED IN HIS OWN URINE. SOAKED through the carrier as well. HOW LONG was my baby sitting in his own urine? That's my question!!?? He was there for 8 hours. This is absolutely disgusting, negligent, and irresponsible of the staff. I can't even begin to stomach the thought of how many other fur babies possibly suffered this same unsanitary, putrid care as my poor little boy. I will be sure to keep my angels far from this neglectful practice. Absolutely disgusting. The chick who gave him to me, went back to clean him up after I brought this to her attention, she acted like this was acceptable and normal. They wiped him down with baby wipes and put a pee pad in with him. She proceeded to say the bottom didn't feel wet to her, that "His fur had absorbed most of it...... excuse my language but WHAT THE HELL??!!! That is disgusting. Great vet!! So I ended up coming here just to get a 2nd opinion on test results and next steps for my dog. I was told my dog had heart worms which I didn't doubt BUT the treatment that was recommended was over the top ridiculously priced so I decided to get a 2nd opinion. I came and was provided exactly what I came for. The staff was very accommodating and super patient with my dog. My dog gets anxious around people and can become very scared and nervous. They took their time with him; once we got in we were literally in and out. Once we pulled up, we got out and checked in and then waited in the car. I walked my dog around the parking lot to work off his anxiety a little bit. Afterwards, the technician took him right away in the back and then bought him back out quickly. The treatment I was prescribed was about 90% cheaper than what I had initially been told and my dog is just fine! Overall, great vet, great staff and plenty of parking. I decided to give the Charlotte location a try, as I am a frequent customer in Mooresville. Getting there at 7:30 in the morning requires me to have patience in traffic. I did it two mornings in a row and lived to tell about it! My kitty went in for neutering. He was returned in great condition and still a happy fellow. The process is quick, everyone gathers at 7:30 for instructions, you complete the paperwork and leave your cat. The next morning, you pay your bill ($35), pick up your cat and go home. The service was efficient and very friendly. It seems the people working here genuinely care for animals and it shows. I am glad to have a reliable place to take my cats when needed. Both locations provide excellent service at a reasonable cost. Yes, my fur baby was given a small green line tattoo on the skin so that the hair will grow over it. They said that helps them identify that he has been spayed/neutered. I suppose it's a thing and it doesn't bother him at all. read more

Stand for Animals has great prices on vaccinations and do a really go job getting a large number of animals in and out in a day. My visit today with my 10 week old baby was nothing short of great. The technician was awesome and I felt took great care of my baby Lucy. The technicians take the animal from you to take them in the back for the shots. Not like a traditional clinic where you go to a room and a Dr comes and sees you. I paid $145 for the puppy package which covers everything from first shots to include rabies and also includes spay/neuter. You can add micro chipping for an additional $30. read more

My family has been coming to Spay Neuter Charlotte Clinic since 2016. We have been to the Pineville and Noda location. Now that my doggies are older we do their annual shots and teeth cleaning. Before getting their teeth cleaned the animals has a routine exam, blood work to make sure they are healthy to go under anesthesia and estimate on how many need to be pulled. You can't beat their teeth cleaning prices, it's $150 for cleaning and $10 per extraction if the animal needs it pulled. Both animals were expected to have 3-4 teeth pulled, but their teeth were healthy. (I am glad since last time they pulled 10 teeth on my Schnauzer and 5 on my Cockerpoo). I wished the times you are check-in and out the staff was a bit friendlier. I know they are busy and there are long lines. This is why I didn't give Stand for Animals a 5 star rating. read more

I had a diabetic Pomeranian, so I got to know them quite well; Dr. Abigail, Nini and Austin especially toward the end of his life. We could not have been treated any better! This place is a mess! I called to make a spay appointment for my female cat, and later found that she was sick. She had some sort of stomach virus but the woman on the phone assured me that they would take care of my cat even if she couldn't get spayed that day. I took her in the morning and automatically realized how packed and stressful the environment was. The workers were rude and told me my cat was severely dehydrated and i need to make an emergency appointment? After they told me they would take care of her that day if she couldn't get spayed ? They didn't want to take her temperature and they turned me away. The whole staff is rude and the process is rushed! We've been using them for our vet services for the last several years and we are so pleased with their professionalism, their facilities, and their pricing. We've taken both of our dogs there, and they've also worked with me to fix up some community cats that I've trapped. One of the things we really appreciate about SFA is their ability to work with us. I've called for same day appointments when my pet is sick, and they are always willing to let us in their back-door with our leash-aggressive pup. I like the prices - $120 for a puppy package to get his shots and neutered. The place is nice, it appears to be clean. But I'm not a fan of the process. The parking lot has signs posted to leave your pup in the car while you check in. I was very hesitant. I don't want my 12 wk old baby in the car alone. I really dont know what purpose this served. It made me very anxious. And check in is not quick. Multiple people ahead and so I keep walking out to check on him when eventually i just brought him in with me after checking on him twice. The ladies at the front desk may have been having a bad day but they seemed kind of cold. The vet tech takes your puppy back and brings him back in 5 minutes. Honestly it takes longer to check in. I feel like you get what you pay for. I'll finish his puppy pkg but afterwards he is going to our regular vet. Or maybe I'd bring someone with me to sit in the car with my puppy. If I could leave zero stars I would. The staff is horribly unknowledgeable, it's embarrassing. I brought my dog in here to receive a consultation regarding his prior surgery 9 months ago. He had surgical implants put in his leg, and 9 months later, they began rejecting. The veterinarian's "assistant" had no clue what I was talking about. He had never heard of screws and rods being put in to fuse bones together. I could not believe it. I requested to speak to the veterinarian multiple times, and they just kept sending out more naïve staff. I then proceeded to ask for a surgeon's referral to schedule an implant removal surgery, and they told me they could not help me with that either. They refused to prescribe antibiotics for his leg which was clearly infected and in pain. They said that they didn't know what was going on with his leg, and they weren't going to prescribe him anything because they had not performed the surgery... which has absolutely nothing to do with him being infected and in pain from his body REJECTING the metal. They then proceeded to tell me to take him back to the doctor who performed the surgery, after I told them that surgeon was in NASHVILLE, where I previously lived. Absolutely insane. Isn't this supposed to be "Stand for Animals"? Looks like they could care less about animals. It took me almost three weeks to get an appointment here, which I took off work for, and it ended up being a complete waste of time. Truly sad. Hire staff that knows at least a little bit of what they're doing... seemed like I knew more than 100% of the people that worked there. read more

The staff was friendly, loving , clean , attentive and very orderly. I arrived by 9:15, my appt was at 9:20 by 9:25 I was already being serviced and Nacho (my dog) was being taken back to his annual check up. You can tell everyone there gets along and they work as a team with their main goal to make sure your animal is good & healthy. By 9:55 I was out the door. The prices are reasonable and the location/facility are nice. They have a covid friendly system to check in and his veterinarian was attentive , knowledgeable and caring. This vet clinic is efficient and great! I brought my 10 month old puppy to get neutered, then had such a good experience I brought my 8 year old beagle for some vaccines and a nail trim. For the spay and neuters, it is a group session of how it works and what to do with your pet. I was there from 7:30 to 8 for drop off. Pick up is the same group session at 3 and I was out in about 30 minutes for that as well. When I brought my other dog for vaccines, they came to the waiting room to get him and had him done after about 10 minutes. The process is quick and straight forward! read more

Compare there prices to any other vet and you will see a HUGE difference. The Spay Neuter Clinics are fabulous and a HUGE money saver. The offices are very nice and beautifully decorated. The staff is wonderful and loves the animals. If you do not pay $20 to see the vet, they will take your animal back to get the work done and bring him/her back to you. This saves time for everyone. I took my puppy to the NoDa office and to the one on Pineville-Matthews Rd. The one in NoDa is very small, so the waiting area is packed and there is not much parking. The Pineville office is bigger, but is also still packed because they see so many animals in one day. To my understanding, the NoDa office is open only on Wednesdays and Pineville on Fridays. I have had 3 great experiences at the Spay Neuter clinic. I paid $120 for the puppy package which included all of the puppy shots and for her to be spade. That is a great saving compared to $575 at a local vet office. My puppy did not have any side-effects from the shots They plucked her eats and clipped her nails for a total of $15. On the third visit, I asked that they check her ears for an infections,which they did for $10. They provided medicine for the infection for only $10. The prices are amazing! The staff and Vet were both excellent and helpful. They send an email two weeks prior to appointments as a reminder. It is the only reminder, so you should set one for yourself. I just can't say enough about this place! Even if you can afford to go to other vets, you are wasting a lot of money. Keep in mind, you can not take your pet here for illnesses. You have to make an appointment for shots, test etc. The first two visits were very quick, I was in and out. My last visit in Pineville, took one hour, but it sure saved me a lot of money. I totally recommend the Spay Neuter Clinic of Charlotte! The Spay Neuter Clinic of the Carolinas is NOT the same place and had higher prices. Don't get them mixed up. It makes me wonder what their priorities are. I have a geriatric pet with a severe itch problem. He has a hard time walking, sleeps half the day, has painful hips. This vet is more concerned about giving him vaccines, than relieving his sufferable itch. They refused me because I refuse to give him unnecessary vaccines that have been proven are not needed at this stage of life. This clinic needs a principle check. And the front desk attendant was quite militant with her greetings towards me and Joejoe. Poor thing. That's for her, not my dear pet. read more
