We saw this place the other day and thought we would try it tonight. Maybe we would find a diamond in the rough..... nope just rough. We were greeted by cigarette smoke but no one else. After several mins we sat ourselves. Looked like a bunch of locals, kind of liked that idea so we stayed... we found out 15 after ordering that they were out of Shepard's pie, so I ordered a bacon cheeseburger instead, medium well. 20 mins later 2 plates for appetizers were put on table.....but no food for another 15 mins, soup and nachos......just to also get our entrees at same time, we questioned getting everything at once and were told it's how the kitchen does it, we were asked if we wanted our food put under the lamps, we said no thanks. we had to flag down the server for ketchup.... And finally were asked about how our meal was after we finished, she was surprised when we said not good, the French onion soup tasted canned, and burger was over cooked. Hard to mess up Philly cheesesteak. we tipped too much considering the service and meal and wrote so on the receipt. 3stars are generous now to shower off the stench of smoke. read more

I found Mixers when looking up places to eat near my destination. I'm glad I stopped by. It was a beautiful day and they had outside seating. I chose the fish and chips and the other order at the table was the grilled grouper sandwich with a house salad. The fish and chips has an option of fish types which is nice. I chose cod. The Cole slaw was absolutely delicious, as well as all the food. It came out hot and the serving size was large. There was an up charge on the bill for the salad, even though the menu listed it as an option and did not mention an additional cost, but it was worth it. Our waiter kept our drinks filled and was very attentive considering we were outside. I'm glad we stopped in and I would visit again. I only gave 4 stars because of the unexpected extra cost for the salad. read more

Haven't been here in years and lots of upgrades. Looked very festive inside for the holidays. Lighting was perfect and nice outside display too! Place is clean and bartenders were all so nice. Definitely order the crab bisque! Omg the best!! Pieces of crab in there and the flavor so yummy. We also got the haddock fish and chips. A little disappointed. Fish was mushy but based on other reviews I read I will try the grouper. In any event, everything else was great. I would come back just for the soup hahaha. Give them a try. read more

Decent happy hour, lasts until 7pm, until most places which end at 6pm. Lots of TVs for sport watching. Plenty of outdoor seating and parking isn't a problem, it's in a shopping mall. Decent prices so it's easy on the wallet. An older, locals type of spot. read more

Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Ordered a bloody mary and sent it back. Hands down the worst drink i've ever had. Tasted like it was expired product and was absolutely horrible. I asked for a coke to replace the bloody mary and that was flat and gross, too. I ordered a steak quesadilla and it was a 4/10. It tasted like it was microwaved. Bartender was eating behind the bar while on shift... unsanitary and unprofessional. Our waitress did remove the bloody mary from our bill which was nice, but that's the only good thing I have to say about our experience. Won't be back unfortunately. read more

I was hungry and found this place purely by accident. I found outside table due to smoking which kind of shocked me that people still smoked inside. Anyway, server Terry, and her trainee, Ashley were prompt, kind, smiling, and fun to chat with. I ordered dry rubbed wings. Kudos to the chef. The food here is subpar. There's smoking allowed both indoors and outdoors, which automatically drives the atmosphere down for me (especially during a pandemic!). The tables aren't distanced, the service was slow (and kind of rude), and it just overall isn't really worth it. read more

Blonde short male bartender said inappropriate things to me when trying to leave. I would not visit this establishment ever.... he made me feel uncomfortable and when asked for management, he said he was running things. Do not go here..... Note that suntrust does not allow charges here due to repetitive fraudulent charges...they reject atm or charge card usage due to consistent fraudulent charges. Someone's review mentioned this place being "claustrophobic," but I find Mixers to be very much long, wide and open. Maybe that Yelper smoked a little too much wacky weed before walking in? This is a smoker-friendly establishment that serves reputably good food from a small, but effective bar menu. They also have a lot of daily specials, and friendly bar staff to tell you all about them. Typical divesque bar in an area where it's the only watering hole, so look for Mixers to be around for a while. read more

Smoky dive bar that should be avoided at all costs. You cannot use many bank cards here due to their history of overcharging guests for products they have not purchased. This, coupled with some of the worst bartenders in the industry, and their low class clientele should keep any decent people from visiting. Oh, and I forgot to mention that they allow smoking, which means that if you ever decide to enter this establishment, you'll need to burn your clothes and bathe before going to bed. Fries were pretty good. My wife's salad was ehh. Beer prices for pints of IPA were somewhat reasonable. Even the interior was much less smoky than in the past. ========= All the staff is great. Service is spotty and often slow. But we go just to hang out and have a few beverages before ordering. So we aren't in a rush. Food is mediocre on a good day. And overpriced for the quality. If you don't care what you put in your body, get a 1/2 order of nachos. Lot of food and inexpensive. The drinks are INSANELY overpriced. I mean its a smoky dive bar. You should at least get affordable drinks. No way we'd sit inside. You choke on smoke just going in to use the restroom. But that's what a smoky dive bar is all about. However, it's right next door to us and we like to take the doggie and sit on the patio. We don't even have to get on a public street. So 5 stars for that. Food was absolutely dreadful - we were a party of 4 and 2 of us determined it was the worst served meal they'd ever had - fish had so much batter - I mean, you wouln't believe it, and the fries were surely artificial - potato fries simply can't taste that bad - of course they were cold too! After a friend and I had our afternoon golf plans fall through, we decided to stop in here for lunch and catch the 1st quarter of the NFL games. Observing some of the crowd in there was more entertaining than some of the NFL games. The average age inside was probably 65 and they all smoke more cigarettes on a daily basis than the Bucs average points per game. The regulars inside all kept to themselves and were harmless. Everyone in here smoked cigarettes. At one point our server even lit one up. Yes, you read that right. The layout is narrow, the tables were a little close together, but the place itself is a lot nicer inside than I had anticipated. The walls are covered with high-quality HD TVs and they were all labeled with what NFL games were on each TV. They were certainly in the Christmas spirit and they had lights all throughout the bar headlined by a large Christmas tree. We placed our drink and food order and decided to play it safe and not try anything too crazy considering it seemed more like a dive bar than a restaurant. Our food probably took a little longer than it should have to come out, but we were very pleased with it and it got the job done. Our server was okay, considering it was her and one other bartender tending to roughly 30 people. My check took forever to come, but everything else service-wise was okay. I would consider Mixers to be more of a bar than a restaurant. With that being said, I think the food is slightly overpriced. My friend and I both had a soda and an entrée and our tab was over $30. For a dive bar, I expect cheap eats and cheap drinks. Not the case here. Mixers is what it is. While I don't prefer cigarette smoke indoors, it is clearly labeled outside multiple times to make patrons aware of it. I would sort of compare Mixers to Dagwoods over in Tampa. Mixers is the Pinellas County version of Dagwoods minus the pool tables. Oh, and speaking of people watching, there seemed to be a few confused NFL fans in here. To start off with our cups were nasty outside and inside. Then the nachos came and there's a load of toppings but no meat/chili. Then the boneless wings don't look or taste like the typical boneless wings. Sent them back to be replaced by a burger. Ordered a side of fries and never got it. And there's a bug on my potato skin. I was invited by new friends to meet them there on Thursday Lady's Night. This night was supposed to be free drinks for women 9:00 PM-Midnight. I arrived late at 11:25 pm. I got one small free drink that had little alcohol from the bar. At 11:50 I walked to the bar again and asked for another drink. She said no I am stopping Lady's Night early tonight as people are being stingy and not tipping. Another lady was behind me and the 2 female bartenders ended up getting into a full-on argument with her after she said she had tipped and wanted another drink. I left and will not return ever. It is very smoky in the bar but they play good music. I heard the food was good but once I get bad service I believe you and don't return. This bar has a very awkward layout that makes anything other than being elbow to elbow with all the other patrons difficult at best. The claustrophobic layout makes karaoke here a complete bust. The audience can't hear what you are doing and the singers are dodging patrons going to and from the bathrooms. Video trivia is even more impossible, with only one TV with the questions and WAY too many people standing in between. There were only two dart boards and constantly there were people hanging out in front of them. I can't blame them; where else is there to stand? Granted we were there on a Saturday night, so I can't speak for other days of the week. If you like to be crushed next to other people and just hang out with non-existent service, you may like it here. I'll go elsewhere. read more

Stopped in trying to find something new. The entire experience was stomped on by every single other patron smoking,,,, as in chain smoking. In fairness, they post on the outside door that they allow smoking inside. We decided to go because you never know what hidden gem is behind dark doors. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. She offered us drinks quickly and took our order. I had the bowl of chili with jalapenos added (chef did not skimp on the jalapeños!!) Chili was meaty and had lots of beans and was thick but still slightly moist. It was very good. Would have been better served with shredded cheese and a spoon full of sour cream. Crackers on the side. I would order it again. He had the grouper sandwich with fries. The fries are the beer battered kind. Very good. The grouper was on the thin side but still good. I like being able to get a grouper sandwich for under $10. You can get your fix without breaking the bank. Lots of beer on draft. Probably 5 craft beer and 5 crap on tap so to speak. Bartender was efficient and friendly. We won't return simply because of the smoke. When there is a decent ventilation system it makes all of the difference. read more

We came for some beers after the Bucs/Falcons game and ordered a pitcher of Budweiser thinking it would be the best value. We missed Ladies Night AND the kitchen by 30 minutes so imagine our sticker shock when we got the check and our pitcher was $12.75 + .90 in tax. Total? $13.65 for a domestic pitcher of beer. This bar is a fun place to grab a drink, listen to music and hang out with friends without having to go too far from home. There is plenty of patio seating outside with TVs. The design of the bar inside is long long and narrow, so it gets a bit crowded, basically because people are usually dancing in the middle of the walkway, especially on the weekends when it is busier and there is just a small dance floor in the back. The music here is surprisingly good and fun, they create a good vibe that gets people up shaking it on the dance floor! The service here is usually pretty fast. I recently went for Ladies night on a Thursday (FREE drinks for ladies from 9 - 12, heck yeah!) and it was more packed than I have ever seen it. Even then, I still was able to get a drink from the bar within a minute or two. I do believe they have a food menu here, but I've yet to try the food. Sometimes Mixers is slow and a lazy-low key kind of night, but on Ladies night it gets packed and is a great time. read more
