The menu made it hard to choose, everything sounded amazing. We got the beetnik, Capri, and grilled broccoli. The beetnik was every bit as good as it sounded, grilled broccoli was delicious, and the Capri had some terrific qualities like the pickled strawberries and buratta, but it was overwhelmingly salty. Every bite was just overpowered with salt which was unfortunate. I'll go back again in the future but I'll be ordering something else for sure! read more

Let me preface this by saying, I love Mixt. In fact, I love Mixt so much that I used to have it everyday when I worked in SF. So imagine my excitement when I found out that they were opening a location right by my office in Oakland! I've been to this location twice - once while dining in, once ordering online for pick up. The first time, I ordered a Cobb and received a Cobb - without bacon or chicken. Ok, no big deal since I was eating in. Easy fix. The second time, I ordered for pick up and arrived at 12:15 when it was supposed to be available. I waited. And waited. And waited... After about 10 minutes of waiting, the cashier asked my name and then told me that my order was "next". Ok, sure. I waited. And waited. And waited. Watching people who waited in line receiving their orders prior to mine. Finally a manager noticed that I had been waiting for over 15 minutes and asked for my order, which he expedited. I'm not sure if my ticket was lost or what. This Mixt, along with pretty much every other location of Mixt, is really meant for the lunch crowd. People who order pick up do so because they have a schedule to keep and they expect that their order will be available so they can return back to work. We do not order pick up only to see that we could have waited in line and received our orders sooner. I understand that this location is new and going through growing pains, but I hope that they develop a better system for fulfilling online orders vs. in person orders. read more

The food here is great. I love the Mixt cobb salad and the elote salad. The space is bright, spacious, and you get a ton of food. Service could be better (mainly, faster), but overall a great spot for a healthy meal. read more

Be cautious when ordering here. There was a fly in my salad dressing. Meaning they don't take the time to check what they are packaging. This also questions the cleanliness of the restaurant. We are still waiting for a response from the establishment to provide us with a refund. They were my go to during these current times, but we will have to pass now. read more

Hella mediocre. I ordered the Napa sandwich with steak. Not only was the steak cut in tiny slices the size of jelly beans, but the pesto they added looked like it was scooped with a teaspoon as it barely grazed the edges of my bread. I feel like the amount of you pay for the food, and serving you received doesn't match. Go to Bakesale Betty's instead. read more

Their salads are good, but their online ordering system leaves much to be desired. For the 2nd time in a row now I ordered online but the order wasn't ready at the requested time. This last time I ordered for a noon pickup, received an email at 11:55am reminding me of my upcoming pickup, and arrived on the scene at 12:02pm. Unfortunately my order was not ready, and it didn't appear as if I was alone as there were a number of others also standing around waiting. I finally got my order at 12:19pm, so I stood around for 17 minutes for an order I was told would be ready by the time I got there. I have no idea how they train people but customer service clearly is lacking. I placed an online order today and when I picked it up it was wrong (Even though the ticket printed correctly). When asked to fix it the reply was "ooooh, that's going to be a very long time"...as they looked at the line going out the door. So I get that it takes time but it takes maybe 2 minutes to make a salad at any other Mixt location. In the end they didn't remake it but did try to scoop out the wrong ingredients...we all know how poorly that works! Hospitality 101 - make it right. read more

I didn't want to leave this review because I really wanted to like this place. But I gave them 3 tries‍. First time, they completely left out the chicken for the 2 salads I ordered. Second time they were super late with the order I made online. Third time, they were late again and barely put any chicken in the salad (no joke, it was about 6 cubes). I asked for extra chicken and just paid for it, which came out to be around $18. The salads seem to be made inconsistently- you get different portions depending on who makes it. Not worth it... At least for the online orders. Maybe going in and waiting is line is the way to go? The two stars is for the food itself, when it's made right and not just greens. read more

I loved my salad....I got the orchard and I substituted the apples and almonds for eggs and green onions. I ordered the falafel salad and it is missing FALAFEL! What?! Grapes are the wrong add. And the avacado was ripe 5 days ago. I ate three bites and pitched it. The tahini vinagrette dressing was simply just tahini. Too thick and heavy for dressing. Overall it was disgusting. Never again! read more

I love this place!!! I ran by here one Sunday afternoon to grab a salad. My husband said he did not want anything. So I ran in and got the cowboy salad. Sure enough... my husband ate half of it!! It is so good! I wish I would've taken a picture of it. A week later he calls me from work and asked me if I could bring one to him! So I placed an online order and requested that it was ready at 11:40am. I walked in at 11:43am and it was sitting in the online order area ready to go with my name on it! I grabbed it and walked out. Yummy ass salads!!! Yes, they may seem expensive at about $14 a salad, but the serving size is huge, so it is definitely worth it. Go early because it gets super crowded during lunchtime. I used to love MIXT. Today they were GROSS. Maybe they have a horrible new employee? I don't know because you can't call and talk to a person. I ordered my favorite Falaf salad. It had only a few soggy falafel crumbles. No cauliflower. Incredibly wilted, soggy, disgusting greens. Bad Atrocious. Also no bread, no utensils and no napkin with my delivery. All around a horrible experience. When is a salad so bad you can't eat any of the ingredients?!! I'm disappointed....and now I'm starving!! Like I need to chance getting E.Coli in the middle of Covid-19 and a social revolution! Went here for a quick lunch. Long line but it moved pretty quickly. Had a chicken plate with chimichurri with. Brussel sprouts and broccoli. All was fresh and tasty. The salads looked really good too. Tons of different ingredients to add in. I would go here again. read more

Love this place! I eat here 2-3 times a week! All of the ingredients are fresh and they only use ingredients that are in season. The same person makes my salad every time I go in. I love the way they make it. I usually do the build your own salad. I have not ventured out to try to other salads yet, but I will at some point. Customer service is lacking and the employee knowledge of their menu items are questionable. This was my first time at Mixt, the employee making my salad looked bored and gave me one word answers the whole exchange. I ordered the build your own salad. I was told by the guy making my salad that the BYO Salad came with 5 ingredients, so I specifically asked if chicken was included in the 5 ingredients. The guy making my salad said "yes", so I added chicken. When I got to the register some one different rung me up and later said that chicken is not included in the 5, so he charged me extra. Since the employees are all over the place, their communication is horrible, and they don't seem to know what is included in their menu, this location gets 2 stars. read more

OMG. Where should I start. First off, what a mess! The workers at the salad bar were tripping over each other and several of them were visibly frustrated. My $12 Falaf salad (with the Jaw Breaker hard falafel crumbs) was given to me in a take out container. The bad part was the container could not contain my greens. The mixed greens which didn't fit were smushed by the lid. So, I carried half my salad hanging out of the container. What an unsanitary mess. It's just not a great deal. They give giant salads and they charge a lot because the salad is so big but salads aren't something I personally want to save for later since they get soggy and what not. The salads are pretty good though. But they should simply be 2/3 as large and charge 2/3 the cost and it would be 4 stars easy! I've been to a few of the Mixts in downtown SF and found them to be far superior to this place. Every single time I go here I get burned croutons on my Caesar salad. I don't know who is charge of croutons but jesus man... Also, it seems like staff is miserable. They aren't rude exactly but far from being nice Like, maybe smile just once? Or, look at me when I talk to you? Maybe they all just hate their jobs? I get customer service sucks but don't do it if you hate people.
