The food was good for an impromptu dinner night! A good standard sushi joint in excelsior! We had a very friendly staff greet us and the sushi rolls we had were good. I just don't know if we'll be back to this particular restaurant.

Solid sushi spot in the suburbs! My friends and I were nearby for another event and were craving sushi so decided to give this spot a try. Interior was pretty and blue and our server was super friendly. We started with the wonton soup, served in individual bowls and it was okay. Nothing stellar but hit the spot during the cold. The rolls themselves were fresh, loaded, and tasty. Not sure if it's a spot I would drive out of my way to go to, but if I am in the area, I'll definitely stop by!

Miyabi will always deliver - high quality sushi, good price point. Never need a resi, even on a Friday at 7PM, it was busy but we snagged a table. Kind staff, food comes in a reasonable amount of time, you can tell everything is prepared fresh. Very typical sushi restaurant vibes, not a lot of fluff with nice big windows near the heart of excelsior. Great spot to come for excellent sushi at quite literally any time of day!

We have quite a few sushi spots in our rotation, and Miyabi has slowly made its way near the top of our favorites. While often overshadowed by another Excelsior sushi spot, I'd honestly recommend Miyabi to those unsure of which to pick! Plenty of parking in a shared lot with local Lunds! Service was wonderful...as noted by the frequent visits to refill my always half empty water :) The ambiance is classy, yet casual and perfect for a date night or just a sushi night out with friends. Food is always great! I do have to say that they have the BEST crab Rangoon...so definitely munch on those before your rolls arrive! Presentation is always fun and the rolls are quality! Plenty of sushi spots in the west metro, but definitely give Miyabi a try next time you're in the area!

We were looking to grab some Asian bistro in Excelsior and Miyabi popped up as a place to go. The Good: The spicy tuna roll is everything that you would expect. I would order several of these rolls. The chicken lettuce wraps do not look appealing but they have a smoky braised chicken flavor. I like the P.F. Chang's lettuce wraps a little better. The best meal was a coconut noodle soup, which I would give a five out of five unfortunately, it was not my meal. The Bad: The shrimp tempura dinner was OK but nothing that I would order again.

Everytime I've visited, i've always loved this place. It's super cute, love the environment, and they have indoor and outside seating. The food has always been hot, fresh, AND fast! The wait staff is always so kind and polite and very attentive when you need anything, they don't leave you hanging ever. I think it's awesome for a date night or even a girls night with it not being super tiny. Kinda shocked that whenever i've stopped in it's never too busy seeing i've never had a poor experience here. It's definitely a spot to try with having food business hours too!

Date night and what a blast! Was surprised at how busy it was. We ordered vegetarian because she is vegetarian and has some great taste. She recommended the place and knew the menu pretty well. Would recommend reservations because they get busy on Saturdays. We went with avacado sushi, Thai Peanut Tofu, Green Curry Tofu. All quite good really.

Snow Mountain Roll on the left, Angel Roll on the right. 8 pieces each.

We took the advice of a previous post and ordered the Angel Roll and Snow Mountain Roll. Both were fabulous. Great menu, lots of choices. Nice atmosphere.

Really great sushi and a great lunch menu with many options. It's $10 for two rolls or $13 for three rolls. Great value on quality sushi.

I always find my saucy noodle/rice deliveries have greasy dishes or spilled/sticky sauces but everything was packaged extremely well. The Pad Thai has fantastic flavor, the veggies are crisp and fresh, and the peanuts add the perfect little crunch. Add a twist of lime and you're in business for the next three days of lunch or dinner. The cream cheese wontons were mediocre, I wish there was more wrapper to kinda soak up some of that cream cheese but it has a good flavor and I love the dipping sauce. The eggroll wasn't my favorite but I'm not huge on eggrolls to begin with but they look really good and they're perfectly crispy. Now, the Vietnamese coffee cannot be slept on. Order it every single time, just trust me. Creamy, bold flavor but it doesn't feel like you're drinking a cup of creamer. I'd go back for the coffee and Pad Thai once a week if I could.

We ordered a fried chicken sandwich, Char Siu, egg rolls and rice. The favorite was definitely the chicken. It was very crispy, thick, moist and flavorful. It was on a pretzel bun, which normally I am a fan of but I think it takes away from the flavor of the fried chicken and the gochujang sauce we got and doesn't quite make sense. To me, it seems more haha a burger bun than fried chicken. The char Siu was good, but very small pieces of meat for the big price tag. The egg rolls were delicious and we liked the way they were cut along with the dipping sauce. Overall, we would come back but I think we would focus on just getting fried chicken and apps and avoid the rest.

Amazingly for living in the South West Suburbs of Minneapolis (or maybe a little farther than what…read moreyou would consider that), I had never been to Lat14. Lat14 Asian Eatery is a critically acclaimed restaurant in Golden Valley, Minnesota, created by Chef Ann Ahmed. Its name comes from the 14th parallel north, inspiring a menu of bold, shareable Southeast Asian dishes from Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and the Philippines. The food was phenomenal, which shouldn't be surprising coming from Chef Ann Ahmed's pedigree of awards. We started with a couple of appetizers. First was the Basil Wings which were Tempura Fried with Thai Basil, Jalapenos, and a Signature Dry Rub. Wow the tempura gave a satisfying crunch with a beautiful zing of spices. Next was the Snow Crab Wontons which were filled with Cream Cheese, Snow Crab, and served with Apricot Sweet Chili. These were stuffed with crab and you totally could taste it. The sweet/spicy sauce with nice acidic bite cut through the cream cheese very well. For my main, I went with the Lao Yum Salad which consisted of Mixed Greens, Tomato, Cucumber, Red Onion, Toasted Almonds, Watermelon Radish, Hard Boiled Egg and Lao Yum Dressing. Perfectly balanced and the dressing was delightful. Oh, and can't forget about the House Pickle Assortment of delicious tangy morsels. ___

I used to go at least once a month when living in state and on the west side of the river, especially when they had happy hour (the one negative aspect I have to report. But I digress...) Ann Ahmed is a Laotian-American Minnesotan and 3 times James Beard semi-finalist. This restaurant is known to serve food around the "14th latitude" and is FAMILY STYLE, so keep in mind while ordering. The food also comes out as it is ready rather than all at once per course. My twin sister and I went one cloudy summer's afternoon and sat outside on the patio, surrounded by lush greenery under decorative cloth shading hung above us. Of course, we got the lumpia, which they split in half for us since it was only us two and they come 3 to a plate (or 4 if you pay an extra $8 or something...) and the nam khao for "starters." For once, we both decided to try something different rather than our go-to (heavenly exquisite) Khao soi (sincerely, just divine). I ordered the pad thai with fried tofu and she ordered the squash curry with a side of roasted chicken to add. We both also got cocktails. I got the mango margarita and my sister got the old fashion (lat 14 style). The lumpia are crispy, flaky and filled with the perfect ratio of succulent pork to fillings served with a spicy dipping sauce. When cut in half, they sear the end of the cut portion to seal in the flavor and contents. Next came the khao soi, a dish to tantalize and tease the palate with the crunch of puffed rice and peanuts and the umami bite of pork flavored with lemongrass and other seasonings wrapped in a crispy lettuce leaf. Living currently in Miami, an absolute vacuum for even gross asian food, I was CRAVING pad thai and Lat 14 delivered. Perfectly cooked noodles with the right amount of sauce (not too dry and not swimming either) with lots of protein, perfectly cooked scrambled egg, fresh beansprouts that don't overcrowd the other ingredients and the crushed fresh peanuts hit every note my taste buds craved. I also was allowed to try the curry and never knew squash curry with coconut was the flavor I missed in my life. All in all, is it pricy? Yes. Are the portions also generous? Most definitely. Is it worth it and your wallet will be begging you to lighten itself by another visit? ABSOLUTELY! Also, our server was attentive, knowledgable and kind.

We got the silver set and an order of scallops and we had leftovers! Plenty of food for two people. The scallops were huge and meats were quality. Pretty clean, not a lot of marinade so if you like more salty/ flavor, dip in a lot of sauce. It's a good option if you like to cook your own food due to quality of meats provided. Would recommend ordering à la carte once you know what you like. The combo set is a good sampler to get a variety to taste
