I stopped in after an appointment and arrived right when they opened. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and I was able to choose my seat. I ordered the wontons, pho, and mango sticky rice. I especially loved the wontons, they have a slightly sweet flavor that makes them stand out. The pho was flavorful and satisfying, and the mango sticky rice was the perfect way to end the meal. Going to round up on the basis of extra friendly and hospitable service. As for the food itself, my meal was satisfying enough but not quite right. Wanting something warm and healthy, I got the tom yum soup with added chicken and veg. It was a substantial quantity of food, and the ingredients seemed to be of high quality, but the flavors didn't seem balanced (mostly, it was a little on the bitter side). Disappointing and unsanitary experience. The inside of the restaurant was dirty, with boxes piled up near the entrance. There were also gnats constantly flying around and trying to land on the food every few seconds. We had to keep swatting them away while trying to eat, which made the entire experience very unpleasant. The restaurant needs to do a much better job with cleanliness and pest control. First time here. Restaurant is a little cold so dress warmly in the winter months. Service friendly and a couple reminders but we got what we needed. Two wait stay so they are tag teaming which can be overlooked with requests. My green curry had the right amount of spice level and the creaminess coconut milk is what I like for Thai curries and pairs nicely with a scoop of white rice. The fresh spring rolls were ok. Very kind folks here at Haven, staff and atmosphere were very relaxed, I sat by the window and looked out over the water. Had the beef pho bowl, was very tasty, no complaints other than I wished they'd had tripe to go with it,I'm weird, so I think most would pass on the tripe. I thought it would be more finely chopped or ground chicken and this had fairly big pieces of chicken. That said, the flavor was delicious and I would order it again. My appointment ended around 5pm and I didn't want to be stuck in traffic. We decided to go eat at thai food nearby. I came when they first opened before covid and food was delicious, food is still delicious now. I love pad thai and will order that at any thai restaurant. My daughter being the hungry one ordered everything she was craving. Home made chicken noodle soup had delicious broth and mango smoothie tasted like real mangoes. The service, atmosphere and all around experience was AWFUL!!!!! 86 degrees in the restaurant, NO BEVERAGES (except for luke warm water), zombie server with less than no personality , brought all our food at once (apps and entrees). Eggrolls - Well-balanced w/ pork & veggies stuffing, fresh and crispy! Potstickers - Deliciously hot & seared! Beef Pho - Always a hit when you want a lighter bone broth during a hangover. Beef Laab - My favorite dish! Spicy, savory, with a tang!! Served w/ a side of sticky rice & broth. I really appreciate it when restaurants minced the meat vs using ground meat. I must say again, their service really made the experience 10x better. The owner was very attentive to accommodate our needs right away! He even gave us free watermelon at the end to wash down our meal. My sister said, "Dang.. I feel like I'm eating at someone's house!!" I'm so glad I saw someone review this place so I could discover it myself! I had been struggling to find a good pad Thai close to home, but this is it. We came in super early bird dinner on a Friday so it was no problem dining in with our 12 month old. We had pad Thai, curry fried rice, and some spring rolls. Everything was delicious! The sauce with the spring rolls was excellent, and the spring rolls tasted fresh with lots of lettuce. The pad Thai and fried rice had great flavors and big portions! Everything was seasoned so nicely. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It's winter so the sun went down fast but they have a great big wall of windows overlooking a small lake and walking path. I imagine it's beautiful in the summer. If they added some more live plants in the sun room area I think it would be such a beautiful space year round. read more

This time I wanted my usual Spring Rolls, which are perfect for the next day. As I mentioned before, the peanut sauce is thick and packs a nice heat. I also tried Drunken Noodles with Chicken, a wide flat noodle, some chopped veg, and wonderful sauce. I ordered medium heat and this place gets it just right! The nose runs and the scalp prickles with sweat when the heat is perfect. In my MUCH younger days, I did enjoy my spice level at hot, but Granny can't eat that anymore! ;-) I tried the excellent Vietnamese Egg Rolls, three crispy fried rice paper rolls stuffed with veggies and served with a fish sauce I can literally drink, it's so good. I will definitely add these now to every order. It's good that I'm eating them at home because I drench them in fish sauce and it's embarrassing what a messy, sticky eater I become! lol. Overall happy with the lunch I ordered! The host greeted me upon arrival and I chose to sit by the window. The environment was welcoming with a fire pit and greenery. The Pad Pak sauce was surprisingly sweet. Not unpleasant but not needed. I was looking for the wok flavor but couldn't find it easily. The Rad Na sauce was also sweet. The noodles were difficult to eat with a fork. I have to say this was not my favorite dish. My favorite dish hands down was the sea bass curry! Delicious! Flavorful, balanced, fish cooked well! Proteins: cooked perfectly! Spice: I ordered every dish at 'medium' spice and was perfect for me. If you don't like spice, be sure to tell them that and order 'mild' spice level. I'm visiting from LA and did some research on where to eat this evening. Ordered panang curry and mango sticky rice for delivery based on the reviews. $20 for shrimp panang is outlandish. Also, I asked for 2/10 spice. Was for more like 4/10, which is fine, but I was trying to not eat spice tonight because my tummy was hurting. Flavor just wasn't great. I've had so many panang curries globally and this was my least favorite. Not to mention the mango sticky rice wasn't fresh. It was dry and the mango cream wasn't super incorporated. This has become my go to for many reasons. We are usually greeted by a super staff. The menu is small but very good. Excellent Vegetarian and non veg choices. I usually show up with my lady friend. Order was ready in 15 min at lunch time. Food: the sauce was amazing had the sweet salty and umami balance , probably one of the top pad see eew in MN flavor wise. Noodles were ok , had some stuck together that were not cooked through, and were not really chewy fresh noodles that the best pad see eew have. Chicken was gross, it tasted dry and old. It had that taste like it was boiled days ago and then cooked into the dish . Some had really gross chicken after taste. They use Chinese broccoli which was huge plus. Cost: for 19.96 it had good amount of food but definitely felt overpriced for what you get and quality of meat it had. It was at most 12 dollar dish even with overhead. I am blown away by the kindness, service and professionalism of this place. My two daughters and I were having a girls weekend. We ordered from here via grub hub. Our driver accidentally forgot one of our bags (it happens) which was 1/2 our meal. Being this was a fun girls night and special weekend; we were so bummed! I called Haven to see if the bag was still there, despite them being closed, a sweet gentleman answered. I asked if I could come by to pick it up. He not only said he had my order, but that he was going to DRIVE IT TO ME AND DELIVER IT HIMSELF! This was during a total snow storm! He texted me with updates. He came to my door so fast, I ran out in my snow boots with cash for a tip "Yelling, no wait!!" and jokingly "i love you!" as he refused to stop, he rolled down the window and said, "That's ok! Have a good night!!"... Needless to say we were blown away by this kindness and his effort in going above and beyond! I got my food really fast for it being takeout and the food was packaged nice and secure. The drunken noodles were so good and made it into my top five places in the cities. The pho was okay. It isn't my favorite in the cities I have had but it was still pretty good. I was disappointed with my spring rolls. All the pictures show it with sauce and I didn't receive any sauce with my order. The rolls themselves were decent but I missed the flavor the sauce adds. The service overall was good. They added napkins and silverware and chopsticks to my order. They let you sit wherever you want which is awesome cause there's booths in the back with the prettiest view of the lake and trail. The sweetest customer service. The Tom Kha was good, but not my favorite Tom Kha that I've ever had although it was packed with green onions and mushrooms. Overall really impressed by the food, but a little less by the ambiance. In addition to having fresh, delicious ingredients, the beef and chicken is considered halal which is a plus for those who eat halal certified meat only. We ordered beef pad Thai, kao poon (red curry noodles with chicken), and mango sticky rice. The pad thai was savory and delicious. I absolutely loved the kao poon. One of my friends has made it for me before and it tasted just like hers if not better ! The curry was subtly sweet and I loved how tender the chicken was. Also really loved the mango sticky rice. Despite mango being out of season, the flavor was amazing and still sweet. Loved the coconut sauce to pour on the sticky rice too. I was in town from the east coast to back home in Minnesota and wanted to try this spot! I used to live in Eden prairie so I was so happy to see a new Asian spot In my old neighborhood! I was more excited to see that it was halal ( beef/chicken/duck) is halal so that is amazing to see! I tried the beef pho which was so flavorful and a big portion of food. Fantastic little hole in the wall! I did not get pictures of our entrees as we were too eager to eat them after the apps! I had Green Curry with tofu and my friend had Vegetarian tofu. Big portion sizes and oh so yummy! The best part of the experience was our waitress - she was so sweet and welcoming! This could easily be a meal in itself as opposed to our appetizer but either way with the medium spicy level it was crazy good! I've ordered from Haven Asian Eatery via Doordash a few times before, but tonight my friend and I decided to dine in. I like this area because there are quite a few restaurants to choose from and tons of parking. Whether you're feeling mexican, indian, chinese or an all-american feel, it's all within feet of the strip mall where Haven Asian is located. We we settled on thai food and I'm reeealllly glad we did! As we were walking up to the restaurant, we wondered if they were open as it was quite dark from the outside, but the lit up neon sign said OPEN, so we went in. The staff was welcoming and attentive. As we seated ourselves at a booth, we noticed that the lighting wasn't super bright, but it was nice and added to the pleasant ambiance. We ordered the tom kha with chicken, nam khao and spring rolls with shrimp. The spring rolls brought this review down to a four just because it was packed with so much lettuce, cabbage and vermicelli noodles. I prefer more of a balance of veggie and protein, but the shrimp was sparse. It was also difficult to eat these because the rice paper busted easily, I personally think it was overstuffed with the veggies. The other dishes though... fan-freakin-tastic! The nam khao was like a spin on lettuce wraps with a tangy fried rice filled with peanuts, scallions and cilantro. We couldn't quite figure out what the protein was, I thought it was like a dried pork where my friend said tripe. Whatever it was it was kind of salty but so addicting and paired well with the rice and lettuce. The tom kha was hands down one of the best I have ever tasted! It had a coconut based broth but was on the savory side. This dish had lots of tender chicken, big mushrooms and a generous portion of lemongrass. All of this poured over steaming white rice and I was in heaven. I've had tom kha before but this one really hit the spot. If it weren't for the spring rolls, this would be a five star review but that doesn't take away from the great staff and amazing dishes here. I'll definitely be back! read more
