This place has a lot going for it. First off the staff is very friendly. The cashier was very nice and the staff all waived by as we left. I am so used to disaffected youth serving me with a depressed look that it stands out. At one point an employee came by with an order and giggled when we looked at her expectantly. It was cute and funny. The menu is not too large, but they have some real nice items to choose from. I ordered a shrimp bowl for my wife. They come in two sizes and the small is a good portion. For myself I ordered a TNT roll and a Shrimp Tempura roll. I usually eat my rolls with some soy sauce, but the Miyabi sauce is real good. I found myself using it quite a bit. The menu says 8 piece roll and they short changed me on both rolls since I was a take away order. I would suggest counting before leaving. Minus that this place is pretty good. I came in with the receipt on $35 order and she asked me to come back again when the manager could be reached. Very expensive for tasteless food. My son ordered filet and chicken and even he said it had no taste....he said "it was alright but that's being kind". I could buy spicy tuna rolls at Harris Teeter across the street and it was 10 times better. What i got was 8 squarish rice blobs that had a tiny center of tuna and a squeeze of Sriracha on each one to make it Spicy. What a joke, I ate 2 and could not just bare it so i took it up to the counter and told them this was the worst excuse for sushi. Out of 5 I would give it 4.8 For express hibachi, the dish had awesome flavor and honestly one of the BEST hibachi's that I have had in the Wilmington/Leland area. We did a pickup and food was ready in 20 minutes. Pretty fast service and easy to order food online. Everything is pretty expensive nowadays anyway so it didn't surprise us to be spending almost $30 on two meals. We LOVE Miyabi! It's so easy to order online and then go in and pickup. I get back to my home after driving 20 minutes to go pick up my hibachi chicken entree. I open it to find a chicken teriyaki. no big deal this has only happened one other time out of 50 times ordering hibachi chicken here. the first time I just drove back and swapped it out. this time however I did not have time to drive back and I do not like teriyaki chicken which is why I have never ordered it. I called and told them what happened and the manager warren said the only thing they could do would be to swap it out and I had to drive all the way back there. I had mentioned I could not drive back there tonight and she said as long as I bring the plate in they will swap it out at a later date. I laughed thinking she was joking. When I realized she wasn't I felt completely disrespected, as if she was treating me like i wasted a hour on my Friday night yo get a free $12 meal. I moved my work area and in turn needed to locate a couple new places for dinner meals. I stopped in Miyabi Jr Express for my 1st visit. I enjoy Asian food and usually it's more than 1 meal worth. I was right. Not only did I fill my belly at the restaurant I took 2 to-go boxes back to the hotel for another full meal. I ordered the Hibachi Shrimp with Fried Rice, onions and zucchini along with an order (2) of Spring Rolls and yes, I had to try the sushi so I ordered the Crab roll. All was very, very good!! Food was just okay I've had a lot better from quick order hibachi places else where. It's nothing to brag on or write home about and is certainly not worth the attitude from the employees who apparently don't know the difference between chicken and shrimp which should be a very frightening thought for readers. I ordered 3 entrees 2 shrimp and 1 chicken and steak. Seems simple if that's all you do is make a few of the same menu items day in and day out. Well not for this staff especially who I'm assuming was a manager. I received the 2 shrimp entrees didn't realize the third was missing until I got back to the hotel across the street. I called and was placed on hold for 3 and a half minutes finally when I was pulling in the parking lot a female came on the phone. I explained what happened and that I was pulling in at the moment. Now most places would accept their mistake but Not here oh No! She acted like I was trying to fleece her for a 150$ wagyu steak dinner accompanied by a 300$ bottle of champagne. The woman proceeded to argue with me about what I had been given acting like it was MY mistake! After explaining the order and what o received with her arguing and disputing my claim completely the entire time I was now in the restaurant where she continued to argue and dispute what I had received. I did indeed challenge her to walk across the street to the hotel and if she could find 1 morsel of chicken in the containers that I had been given 10 minutes earlier I would give her a million dollars. She continued to argue and dispute what was given to me by her staff that messed up the order to begin with. This went on as I kept saying I don't want anything from you except what o paid for (multiple times o said this) finally seeing I was not going to let this go she acted like I was the one in the wrong and finally agreed to fulfilling the missing order after I did tell her if she did not know the difference between chicken and shrimp she did not need to be working in the food industry. She said she would fulfill the order (again, as if I was the one in the wrong on all counts and was trying to take her first born from her) the cook prepared it and she had a teenage employee pack it up and give it to me. NEVER did she apologize I'm any way or offer any kind of customer service (actually the complete opposite!!!) the only thing she added to the situation was to insult and insinuate that I was trying to take something I was not entitled to when all I wanted was what I ordered and what I paid for and tipped the employees for. The rest of the staff took their cue from this one employee as they starred and whispered about me the entire time I had to wait for the missing order to be fulfilled. SO UNPROFESSIONAL and IMMATURE even for fast food employees and very very wrong to do to a paying customer when the ENTIRE ISSUE WAS THEIR MISTAKE!!!!!!! Even if this food had been better than decent I would never visit here again or ever suggest it to anyone when there is plenty of good places near by to eat. read more

I dined here a few weeks ago and would say I'm glad we now have this as an option in Leland. I ordered hibachi steak with the usual rice and veggies. The girl taking my order forgot to ask me how I'd like my steak cooked and I had to go remind her that I'd prefer it rare. That seemed to throw a wrench in their process and she seemed to have a hard time figuring out exactly which order was mine because they were VERY busy. It was no big deal ultimately. The steak was a little overcooked for my liking but it did have good flavor. The veggies were very crisp still which is great! However, I felt the rice lacked a little bit of flavor. I just moved to town and found this little place right around the corner from my apartment. I love how easy it is to get to. Lots of parking. The inside was nice and social distance was being enforced. Lots of great menu items. I went with hibachi steak and shrimp. It could have used a tad more seasoning but it was pretty good and the steak was cooked perfectly. I can't stand chewy steak at Hibachi place. One of my quick go-to places for lunch. It's Miyabi's fast food style. This place is clean too. Walk up to the counter, order from menu above or on counter, the cashier gives you your drink there along with a pager. The card machine they have has a delay so wait until they tell you to swipe. Sign on screen with your finger. Sauces are to the left of counter. After your done leave your mess on table and they clean it for you. Tip jars are at the counter. On a side note, if you want a drink refill you have to find someone to refill behind the counter. It would be nice if they had self serve, because the counter gets busy and you could be standing there for a minute waiting for someone to help you. The chairs are loud and there's no avoiding the scraping, hair standing, noise all over the dining area. read more

This place is over the top. Went in one day about 3 pm as Papis next door was closed. Figured this was just your typical Japanese Express hibachi on a box. It is not. Much better than your typical sit down hibachi restaurant. I had the filet and shrimp. Came with perfectly executed fried rice, stir fry zucchini and onions, rare , nice cut filet, and tender not rubbery shrimp. I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased.
