I was in the mood for a Poki bowl & spam musubi so I visited @pokibowlilm I got the Lava Bowl with Spam Musubi, and it DIDN'T disappoint! Out of 5 I will easily give this place 4.5 Service is extremely fast! Plenty of space inside to dine in if you choose! If you're in the ILM/Leland area go give these guys a try!

Med. bowl, 1/2 lettuce, 1/2 rice, tuna + too many toppings to list! Delicious! Cold coffee w/brown sugar bobba, not bad, but not my favorite

I wanted to check this place out and a friend agreed to go with me. We both enjoyed our "choose your own" bowls. The servers were patient and explained our options. There was a special for the medium size bowls, and we were more than satisfied with the portions. This isn't a place you go for ambiance, but the weather was nice so we sat outside.

    Regular Bowl (3 Scoops)

I ordered a Regular Bowl (3 Scoops) -- spicy tuna, salmon, octopus-- 1/2 brown rice, 1/2 mixed greens -- spicy sauce to mix with protein, onion, cucumbers -- Unlimited toppings!! I picked mango, edamame, 1/2 of a perfect avocado, ginger, masago, green onion, spicy poki sauce, fried onion, and dried seaweed seasoning -- there were a TON of other toppings as well. The rice was perfect! All of the proteins -- perfect! Sooo excited to see OCTOPUS!! Everything was so fresh, especially singling out the mango, avocado, and mixed greens. I also ordered a mango milk tea with tapioca boba -- totally hit the spot. This place is a gem. I don't come here often because I try not to eat out a lot BUT absolutely no guilt eating here -- unlike the other alternatives on the way home from work. It might be a little pricy BUT the ingredients are pricy -- seafood and produce. This huge bowl took a while to eat with my chopsticks, which is great for digestion -- I am not hovering my food. I savored every bite...and I was FULL!!! Love this place!! Please don't go anywhere...unless you want to expand to Oak Island/Southport!!

What a nice surprise to find that a Poki Bowl opened up in Wilmington! I'm originally from the Bay Area, so I'm super familiar with their original location (and it's one of my favorite spots to get a poke bowl!). If you're not familiar with poke, it's cubed sashimi that is traditionally mixed with onions, cucumber & sauce. Hawaiian poke has many styles, but usually come pre-mixed which is one of the reasons why I love this spot bc you can create your own bowls (think chipotle). My favorite bowl usually includes ahi tuna & hamachi but I mixed it up recently and did ahi tuna and salmon. The sauce options are the bomb here. The spicy option is like a soy/ponzu situation and the heat level is perfect (a little less hot than hot Cheetos). The toppings are the best, and i love that they are all included, so you can really make your bowl your own. I will definitely be back and I'm stoked for this addition to the ILM foodie scene.

Very nice and helpful staff who walked us through the process of building our bowl. Food was fresh and delicious, the poki sauce was a nice touch. The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere and was very modern and clean. I will definitely be back

I was hoping for a much better meal here, today. I came with my son and friend. Being the poke lover that I am, I was looking forward to trying to new poke place in town. It is located in the Henry's shopping center and has a giant flag sign out front to let you know that it is there. Upon entering, there is a large dining area and we were greeted immediately. The General Manager took her time to explain every detail and every step of the process. She was awesome! I was very impressed with the whole system and the options that were available. They had many more fish options than I was used to seeing at a poke place. They had yellowtail, spicy tuna, salmon, octopus, ahi tuna, shrimp, and tofu. The prices were great and I was so ready to dive in. You can choose a base from brown or white rice, chips (nachos), or mixed greens. I loved this option and chose to do the brown rice and spring mix. I tried ahi tuna, salmon, octopus and yellowtail. You can make it mild to very spicy with an oil they mix it with. I chose spicy. Then comes the toppings. I absolutely loved how the toppings included avocado , seaweed salad and masago for free. That is definitely a plus!! At the end you can get their miso sauce or spicy Mayo and sriracha. My bowl was HUGE and I couldn't wait to dig in. At this point, With the service, cleanliness of the restaurant, price, and choices, I am thinking this will be my new go to restaurant. Well, that's when things got worse. The taste was not good. None of us thought so. The rice was warm and that didn't mix well with the lettuce and lukewarm fish. The fish was not fresh tasting. It really had no taste. It was very bland altogether other than the heat from the oil. I wish they had more sauce choices to choose from and that the temperature was consistent. The fish were way to warm. My friend said the shrimp tasted frozen and reheated. We all that is was just average and that other poke places in town blow this out of the park. The GM came over and asked how it was and I told her that I loved how the toppings were free. I really wish ANY of us liked it more. The amount of rice/fish ratio was underwhelming. And I even had a half portion of rice. I think people will like it here and I think that it will do well. This was just not the place for me. I prefer sashimi to be full of taste and for more fresh spices on the food - like cilantro. Nothing seems fresh at all.

A hidden gem in Wilmington ... a well kept secret of the locals …read more.. From the outside .. it looks like a road side hole in the wall but once youre in, its a whole new world ! Most people enter the bar entrance where the small patio area is .. but on the other side of the patio is the main entrance where you are created by the host stand .. You would never know how big this place is from the outside but once in... its like one of the hamster cage cages with never ending tunnels to different rooms/area... RSVP are definitely suggested since walkins are usually in Bar area or Patio area .. which isnt bad .. but its limited seating .. Staff here are cool but service can be a lil wait if they are busy . Menu is a Panamanian vibe with lots of good eats .. One of the salsas you must get is the Elote salsa its very nommm nommmm next would be the Goat Gauc which is equally amazing. The Ceviche is a must get ... yes get the Quattro which is 4oz of each one so you can sample all ! The scallops and pork belly of mash is pretty good but would be better over the coconut rice . The special of the day was a sheepshead filet over risotto which was pretty damn good ! The corvina was ok but was a little bit over done and ended up a lil drier than expected. Highly recommend asking for the homemade hot sauce ... its amazing and goes on everything! This is definitely a locals Hotspot and an interesting place to people watch... Will definitely comeback for sure .

The tortillas are really hard, difficult to eat and not very good though :( Ahi tuna was seared (not raw like I asked for) and the tortilla was burnt. Half wasn't edible... Coconut rice is sublime. Id go again but make different choices.

I have only two experiences in sushi restaurants in Wilmington. Both were excellent experiences. We were immediately served at the bar and well taken care of by Savannah while waiting for our party. My husband ordered a vodka soda with lime - perfection ...tasted like a sprite. I had a sweet unfiltered cold sake- love how it was displayed on a bucket of ice. Our party of 7 were placed in the back and most of them were already familiar with the restaurant. Some of them had vegan entrees and the tofu, rice, & vegetable entrees they ordered looked plentiful and delicious. Some ordered sesame chicken or seafood. They all looked colorful and delicious. My husband ordered a bang bang spicy shrimp appetizer. Very well cooked and filling. I had escolar sashimi - tasted like melt in your mouth fatty tuna with a buttery texture. I ordered the Super Toro Roll: Spicy tuna, avocado, tempura flake top with blue fin toro, jalapeno sauce, chili oil, fish roe and scallions . It was a scrumptious & large specialty roll. It was more than I expected - high in taste, quality, and quantity. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. She refilled our drinks & expedited our meals in a swift manner. I was told there were two Nori restaurants were in Wilmington, yet this was the better of both restaurants. We enjoyed our time here and plan to visit Nori at this location again.

I don't usually write reviews but this has happened too many times and the "we're sorry" or "we'll give you a $10 coupon" isn't enough. The past 4 orders have constantly missed something we've both paid for and requested verbally whether we picked up the to go order or go through Uber Eats. This time it was the fried rice, last time the Yum Yum sauce, before that the sushi roll, etc. I called and asked for the manager, Jackson. He apologized like they've done everytime and then offered a $10 coupon for next time. Sorry I want my fried rice. I've ordered from Lucky Star for 15 years and they've never forgot rice or sauce or anything. I then asked for the owner just to let everyone aware before leaving a bad review. Jackson immediately replied that "you're not going to like my answer she's out of the country for the next few months"....he was right that's not the answer I wanted...I wanted my rice! Just another example how bad management & leadership will lead to bad service. It's a shame cause the food (when you get what you ordered) is good. I would highly recommend against ordering online unless you're ok getting a "we're sorry excuse" when your food that you paid for doesn't show up.
