I had the chicken ramen it was good but needed more seasoning. Next time I will try the sushi. Customer service was good and the ambiance was welcoming. Great place for lunch or dinner.

Happy your options for sushi are plenty but not great. We didn't end up choosing anything from the happy hour menu cuz they either had cream cheese or something fried. We did opt for the sashimi lover app, and it was sooo good. Super fresh. Highly recommend the miyako special maki!! Our waitress was super kind, friendly, and patient.

Food was cheap but delish! The service was fast and casual and the ambiance was pretty casual, lots of families come in it seems like but they have tvs to watch sports

Miyako is a staple in Houston for so many years. I miss the days of Miyako Bucks. Sushi is always delicious and fresh. Love their kitchen food as well. We ordered the Garlic Edamame, Beef Sashimi, and Pork Pan Fried Gyozas as appetizers. Then the New York Maki, S & M Maki, Crunchy Maki and Chilago Maki. Service is good and attentive for ice tea refills. Miss the days with the traditional seating called Zashiki, featuring low tables on tatami mats, providing an intimate, traditional feel, but require removing shoes. Miyako has since removed this type of seating. Still a great place for Japanese food.

Omg the food at Miyako is delicious, i usually get their Shrimp yaki ramen bowl and i order extra sauce, can't remember the name. I look forward to visiting again! Their menu is very affordable.

This is a big restaurant with plenty of seating indoor only. My party came during lunch and it wasn't crowded. We got a table immediately. There were so many options to choose from the menu. There was a limited happy hour menu too whole every Saturday and Sunday. Some food we ordered were tiger eye maki, crunchy maki, kamikaze maki, s & m maki, Mardi Gras maki, Miyako special maki, scallop nigiri, and unagi nigiri. We also had the happy hour drinks; son of a peach, lemon drop, candy crush, and water my melon. All our rolls were great. We had no complaints, only praises for the delicious food. The drinks were good too but mine weren't strong enough. My drinks tasted kinda watered down. We received excellent service today. Our waitress kept checking on us, and she serviced with a smile. Parking isn't an issue here since there is a big parking lot at the front. There is additional parking at the back of the strip mall too. I will come back again.

Thoroughly enjoyed my time here with fellow yelpers! We ordered a spread of sushi and it did not disappoint! They gave us a special Saturday and Sunday menu that was more like a happy hour menu, which had great prices! They had some creative cocktails - I ordered Water My Melon. It was sweet and tart and I could taste the strawberry flavor more than the watermelon! I specifically ordered the Miyako Special roll. I like rolls that are more on the plain side and this fit the bill. It was made with tuna, salmon and avocado. That was delicious along with the crispy tuna roll from the regular menu. I had this at another restaurant but this one was completely fried so that it was super crunchy on the outside. Sooo delicious! The other roll I tried was the S & M Maki. Also very good! I only ate one of those but wanted more! The sushi here is delicious and I love the variety of the happy hour menu. We stayed for a few hours and the staff was super friendly, continuing to check on us to make sure we were ok the entire time. Definitely coming back!

The service was great. The sushi was wonderful. The ramen was mediocre with very little flavor even with adding spice. The alcoholic drinks were smaller than expected. It was Friday so parking was limited.

Chicken Udon, S&M Maki, Sweet potato tempura, mussles in half shell roll

Miyako Sushi was absolutely amazing! I had tempura vegetables, chicken don't soup, mussels in half-shell roll, and S&M maki. Everything was so fresh the tempura was perfectly crispy, the S&M maki was flavorful and expertly rolled, and the mussels in half hell roll was incredible. Every bite was a delight. Highly recommend for anyone craving quality sushi in Houston!

I went here on a weekday and I believe it was for happy hour. The prices were definitely worth it. You can see more of the quality of the food if you go directly on my TikTok. Thegifted___

Upon arrival, I was told that I could not sit at the sushi bar and eat. If I wanted to order I had to go sit in the common area of this dining hall. After this discussion, I said fine and asked for a menu. They then told me I had to get up and order at the register and view the menu glued to the counter. They took the order of a couple who sat down maybe 2 minutes before me in front of me. I will never come back to this place. They seem to be the last man standing in this dining hall, and with this kind of customer service, they won't last much longer. It's a shame because I love the food and I am a regular at handies and aiko as well. Won't be back to any of them.

The vibe was moody and lightly lit, and the restaurant was busy with people celebrating. I ordered the sunomono, maguro crudo, salmon and king crab hand roll, and signature nigiri. The hand rolls were probably the best thing I've ever had, I even ordered an additional spicy tuna hand roll because I wasn't ready for them to be over. My sister even ordered another flight of nigiri because it was so phenomenal. To finish, I ordered the ube sponge cake, which was the perfect little treat to end the night. Seriously, I'll be dreaming about this meal. If I'm back in Houston, I'll definitely be coming back!

Not a fan of that drink (2.5 stars or less). GENERALIZED REVIEW:…read more Came here with a friend from theatre after a full run--he had this place recommended to him by another theatre friend, so we're just passing on the word. The plaza was a bit confusing to navigate, and I'm pretty sure if the place weren't full of Asian parents and their kids, it would've felt like the shadiest place ever because you have to enter from the back. Otherwise, the plaza had a lot of great-looking stores overall. My first go-to: I've loved drinking Kirin Light ever since I discovered it in Chicago. The flavor is literally so light, with a slight acidity that brightens up my meal. The sake here was frankly also delicious. I didn't order it, but my friend did, and they had it warmed. The flavor was soothing and subtle, almost like tea. It was exceptionally easy to drink, and the ocean-themed ceramicware was a beautiful touch. We ordered two rolls: the Shaggy Dog and the Truffalufagus (a fun tongue-twister). I personally chose the Truffalufagus (which is not fun to spell) because it seemed like the most unique dish on the menu, and I enjoyed it very much. What I liked most about it was that it was subtle yet impactful. I also loved the textures--from the internal crunch paired with the fresh jalapeño to the softness of the fish. I'm glad I gave this roll a shot, and I would be excited to try it again anytime. The Shaggy Dog was great, but it appealed less to my flavor profile. It was a little too rich and creamy for me. I recommended this place to my BF as a potential future date spot--I personally think he would like it... if he weren't the type to enjoy AYCE sushi so much. If they had more unique rolls, I would definitely come back just for those. I was tempted to order the Surf and Turf for this round, but I didn't want to seem like a glutton, hahaha.
