I met some friends for a meal here last week. While I have dined at Tamashi Ramens' other location I believe this was my first visit here. I went with my go to dish which is Tamashi's Menn for $15.25. It is a house specialty and my favorite. The meal arrived in its bowl of pork meat, soft boiled egg, sprouts, fried onions and scallions in a shrimp based broth with a skewer of shrimp added in. Delicious. If you have had this meal you know what I am talking about. Our table service was attentive and we all enjoyed our visit. Decent Ramen - I had the Curry Ramen and the flavor was on point. Rich creamy broth that they give you separate from the noodles. Pretty good! Inside was nicely decorated with an anime theme. Staff was friendly. My only gripe is that they don't substitute anything except the pork with Ramen, which is kind of like why would you order Ramen if you don't like the pork? But I'm allergic to the imitation crab so was hoping they'd give me mushrooms or something but no. It was still good though! Decent place and worth a try if you like ramen. May end up going back but the Ramen scene is fierce in Houston so we'll see! read more

I think I just need to stop ordering shoyu ramen because I feel like I always get disappointed no matter where I get it from. So I don't think they made it poorly, I think I just don't love the dish itself. My sister and our friend got something else and they both really liked what they got. We were driving by and had a craving for ramen. Having only driven by Tamashi on Holcombe and only having it delivered, I was very happy to see this spacious location. Previously I have not gotten ramen from here so I didn't know what to expect but to see a ramen bowl being offered that had no pork broth and shrimp on top just made me very happy. The shrimp ramen was solid. The service was quick and friendly. It wasn't too busy but it was definitely past the dinner rush hour. It was past lunch and was craving for Ramen. There was a Tamashi ramen close by. I had it once long ago and had good memories. It was past lunch so was not busy and was seated right away. Started with geso karage. The squid tentacles were crispy and was tasty. The sweet sauce compliment it very well. Just wished it was not chewy. Next, ordered the medium spicy tonkatsu ramen. It came with fish cakes, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots half an egg and 2 slice of char sui. The broth was delicious. Some may find it a little salty. The ramen was firm. The half cooked egg was perfect! The char shiu (sliced pork) was a bit lean... would prefer to be a little fatty so it will be tender. Price was very reasonable. Staff was friendly and explains if you ask. Food came out pretty quick. Plenty of light coming in from the windows. Overall, I'll come back and try their sushi and other dishes next time. read more

I order the chirashi every time & enjoy this dish immensely. In Japanese chirashi means scattered, the dish consists of a bowl of rice topped with sesame seeds, ginger, wasabi, cucumbers, seaweed salad & an assortment of sashimi on top. This way you get a variety of fish to enjoy! Tamashi is a cute little store with plenty of seating. Anime figures & drawings adorn the walls & shelves. The service here is always quick & friendly. Came here for their thanksgiving eve special! This shop is bigger than the rest so there was no wait to get in. My order took awhile to prepare but other tables had it fast so just a fluke for mine. I always order the tamashi menn. If I didn't have the other locations' to compare to, I would say it's very good. But I can actually tell the broth isn't as flavorful and the chashu for mine was a little tough. My friend had told me this location was bad, but I just think it shines a little dimmer compared to the others and would still recommend it! read more

This place was a bit of a drive for us but was well worth it! The place is very clean, we were greated by a friendly gentleman and were attended to immediately. We ordered a sushi roll with shrimp tempura and crab that tasted really fresh. The two ramen dishes we had- the shrimp house specialty and the curry based ramen- were both layered with lots of flavor and fresh ingredients. The servings were pretty large- we both had to ask for to-go containers! The prices were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. I really wanted to like this place more than I did. My mom and I went and got 2 different kinds of ramen. I got the shrimp one and hers was a curry dipping ramen. They were just really average and mid flavor. The sushi roll we got "the hot papa roll", was amazing I would definitely order that again. But the avocado roll was terrible. Not sure how you can mess that up. One big turn off was that we asked for chili paste and it was $1 each time, which was fine, but when I tell you they barely gave you a teaspoon. There's plenty of other good ramen in houston so I likely won't be back for that, sushi maybe. read more

I never thought I'd say I'm glad Happy Lamb was too packed. We had 12 small parties ahead of us this cold Wednesday night. Instead of waiting for 45 minutes or more, we decided to browse the plaza. Figured the Ramen would warm us up and there was no wait time. I was surprised to discover that the broth was better than Jinya or Tiger's Den (those are my go-to Ramen spots). We tore it up! The service was great too. I asked her for a to-go cup for my hot green tea and she brought me a new one. That was sweet! We also went next door for some loaded kimchi fries. Quite a good ramen shop. My friend got the shrimp ramen, while I chose the hot miso ramen. Personally, I adore the flavorful broth. We also shared the shaggy dog and chirasi. These are both delectable. The ramen was decent overall, but not outstanding. We both thought that their noodles were excellent in fact. The broth was savory and rich, nearly to the point of being overly rich. It was disappointing because the soft boiled egg wasn't yolky and was actually overdone. Excellent client service, but little high prices. Parking is not at all a problem. Good ramen shop once more. I'll return soon. read more

We are a party of two on a Monday around 3pm and we're immediately seated. We ordered lychee sake (which they put in an ice bucket for us to keep it cold) and some appetizers the chicken karage and the takoyaki. Both came out hot and Delicious. I ordered the spicy tonkotsu bowl and added corn which I loved! This is my friends favorite ramen spot in the area and I truly can see why. The waitress and other staff members were friendly and attentive to us. There were only About 5-7 other patrons in the restaurant so noise wasn't much of an issue. They have fun k-pop I'm assuming music playing and one piece anime decor around which I enjoyed a lot. The bathrooms were clean and seemed well Maintained as well despite the restaurant being on the smaller more intimate side. I would recommend this place for dates, friends, or even just for lunch. The tables are small but there is one larger table in the middle that could accommodate a larger party of about 10 perhaps. Overall delicious food and good sake! read more
