Sunday morning I was notified that the other person I ordered gear for was now unavailable to attend our ride in a few weeks. I emailed Sandeep, long before their listed business hours, to cancel one of the orders. Within minutes I received a response notifying me they would cancel the requested order. They confirmed my order and charged me, but after two days they emailed me to cancel the order saying they did not have the item in stock after all and could not get it from their supplier. The item is generally available so what I suspect is that they decided they did not want to sell it for the price they advertised and so simply canceled the order. Although they said they would refund me immediately they did not process the refund until I followed up with them. I honestly don't see the point in offering products at prices you are not willing to honor. It seems to accomplish nothing except waste everyone's time and alienate a customer. read more

I bought a jacket for $388.76 on 12/09/2024 from Miyar Adventures. I returned the jacket shortly thereafer, and after three weeks, I got no refund and they didn't communicate with me. I opened up a dispute with my credit card company on 1/03/2025. Miyar then immediately reached out and told me to cancel the dispute and they would refund the money. I canceled the dispute, and Miyar has refused to refund the money, they are claiming that the chargeback is unresolved, even after I have provided them with a letter from my credit card company that the dispute is resolved. read more

These people may be great guides, but lordy lordy are they skeevie in online retail. I've been told they have it in stock and "are shipping today" twice now, three days later they say they didn't have it in stock and it will still be another week. We're at over three weeks since the order was placed with no end in sight. $1.7K order. They don't answer the phone or return VMs. The emails don't actually give answers to questions, and don't acknowledge that the previous email from three days ago said they'd be shipping with tracking. They don't answer questions other than to lie about having something "in the store" to buy time, I think because they don't have the money to pay back for a return or cancellation request. I've already contacted local online crime/fraud department of their local Chamber of Commerce, who in turn reached out to local LE. I've also reached out to the manufacturer and another third-party facilitator. All have opened claims or case #'s given the correspondence I've provided within just hours or receipt. One customer service rep I reached out to concerning this hefty order said the following two things after reading the email chain I forwarded: "it's clear something is happening over there" and "I've never seen correspondence like that from an online business." My advice, if you are going to get a guided experience, this seems legit from other reviews. Look at every single 1-star review and it's their online retail business. We probably are not going to use their service ONLY because they would not be able to escort us up Rainier (the passes are monopolized by three other guide companies) and we would almost certainly need a guide to get to the top. Wow - I just had an excellent online snowshoe purchase from Miyar Adventures and had to share. I found Miyar during a google search for the snowshoe and the price was better than the other retailers. I saw their address in Seattle and some favorable reviews, and then on the site I chatted with someone that answered my questions about stock and how it would ship (I was concerned about receiving it in time for a trip). I purchased a Garmin Edge 1030 Plus from Miyar. The product arrived as advertised, new, in an unopened box. They also had the best price around for the device, and we LOOKED for any place that might have it for less and could not find one. We ordered on a Saturday and received it (Boston, MA) on the following Wednesday. Not bad. My only issue, such as it is, is that we called them repeatedly during business hours on Saturday and no one answered the phone or responded to the voice mail we left on their system. They did respond enthusiastically, politely, and clearly to emails on Monday. Not a big deal, but if you are looking to get someone on the phone, keep in mind they are are a small business. I order a product from them online paid for expedited shipping. The product arrived 4 days after it was supposed to. When it finally arrived the device (an avalanche beacon) was broken fresh out of the box. I returned this item and now 3 weeks later they are still unable to provide my refund and are unwilling to provide updates. If you take the shipping out of this, all that needed to be done was check to see that the device turned on and worked properly before this shipped. I reach out to other shops in my area and they all confirmed this would be the normal procedure for an order like this. I shared this with the Miyar team which they stated we would never "We got a lot of beacons and like any other retailer, no one opens them and check." This is the only shop of 4 that I spoke with that for a life-saving device they would not make sure it works before it's sent. Possibly a good outfitter, a terrible online retailer.
