We tried this place randomly as we were looking for an AYCE nearby. The reviews don't do it justice. It's not the absolute best, but for AYCE it's worth it. The belt has a good selection of both rolls and nigiri, including amaebi. The fish is decently fresh, without any sus smells. The rice is occasionally a little undercooked and chewy but it's not a dealbreaker. The service was great. They gave you a water pitcher, which I liked because I drink a lot of water eating. I had this place on my list for a while now and finally got the chance to try it. Glad I went through some of the tips and reviews showing that there was a parking lot right around the corner, super convenient and helpful to know since there aren't any street parking available in front. We came for AYCE which is only on the weekends Fri-Sun, $49.99 per person which is a little bit higher than other places I've been like Hinata or Fujis but after seeing the variety of the selection I thought it wasn't too bad I don't get why some of the people were bashing the amount of selection was available. The first thing we noticed was the different anime art and the bar area. Seating area was big with some table and bar seating near the conveyor belt. We came exactly at 5pm (early bird) I guess they weren't expecting people to show up so early for AYCE but got the conveyor belt moving super fast and didn't start our time until it food started appearing. TV surrounding the area showing classic GHIBLI movies and news. For the food we had complimentary miso soup to start and on the conveyor belt we saw all kinds of nigiri, sashimi, dynamite roll, seaweed roll, seaweed salad, gyoza, grilled salmon, salmon katsu, tempura, musubi, strawberry short cake, tiramisu, dango, chocolate cake, mango pudding was all the things I saw on the belt. I was excited for every new thing I saw and wasn't disappointed at any of it. In fact I'll have to say it's one of the best quality salmon and tuna I've had compared to all the other AYCE I've tried in the Bay Area and a huge variety of food which is why I think the price was justifiable. We had checked out the new Tokyo Central Market nearby. It was raining and we wanted some comfort food. We saw this place that was rated average. We thought we'd give it a try. We arrived just as they opened so we were the first ones there for lunch at 11:30 AM on Monday. We both ordered the Samurai Miso Ramen and I had chicken karaage added to mine and my husband had beef. We started with fried gyoza and those were yummy. The ramen wasn't good. The noodles were more like top ramen you get to make at home and the broth was very watery. Overall not much flavor at all. I was really disappointed. I've never had bad ramen and wasn't sure if I'd be able to know if the ramen wasn't good but I proved myself wrong. We also ordered the house hot sake and it had a bit of a vinegar taste. It wasn't good and I couldn't finish it. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Miyozen let us a Sweet 16 party for my daughter and did a fabulous job of setting up a special table for us and making a beautiful buffet table of assorted sushi rolls and appetizers. They continued to be helpful with special orders, drinks and helping with the cake. We took a really long time but never felt rushed or ignored, which was appreciated for such a large party with varied tastes. All the food was very high quality. I got the salmon avocado roll and the salmon cream cheese roll (yes, I'm a salmon girly), and both were chef's kiss. The salmon was buttery and flavorful, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and the cream cheese added the best rich, creamy balance. Presentation was top tier too -- like look at this sushi, it's giving luxury. Even in a takeout container it felt special. Plus, the portion size was generous without being overwhelming. Fish quality is good, but don't go for the AYCE because the belt is very slow. For my visit they only put up new fish nigiri plates every 10-15 min, other than that you're stuck with rolls and tofu pockets. So it's better off just ordering off the menu. Staff is nice and friendly. read more

I've had take out and dined in and it's really good both ways. They package the takeout very thoughtfully, especially if you have spillable soups or other dishes in the bag. The atmosphere inside is very chill but good for families, friends, etc. I always just eat on my own. They have anime playing on the TVs, usually with captions so you still know what's going on. Service is super nice. I'm a simple roll type of person so I'm fond of the salmon roll and the spicy tuna. Good cuts, pretty decent price, always yummy. Miso soup is good but I usually opt for the vegetable tempura. Grilled squid is yummy but not for everyone. Fried oysters are crisp and I like them better with just a drizzle of lemon rather than dipped in the sauce. The sesame balls for dessert are soooo good and always leave me stuffed. We went to checked out this new Tokyo Central in the area, and my boys were very hungry, so we search this restaurant that nearby with ok review, and they offered AYCE Selection " which is All You can eat" which cost 50 dollars per person, and 4 of us. Which is very expensive for that price compared to other all you can eat, sushi places. The service is ok, the complementary miso soup it just broth, are super salty. the sashimi quality is ok. The main problem is there's really nothing for us to eat, they only served 5 pieces of sashimi twice, which is only 10 pieces, and the nigiri are only one single piece in that tiny plate. And there's a policy with 90 minutes, we were waiting and waiting a new stuff coming out from the belt, but all we do just wait and looking at those same items keeps turning around, and been sitting there for while, all we do is waiting, been 20 minutes and other 10 minutes still no new items coming out, We ended up paying 200 dollars that still not full. read more

So you'll need to walk past all that. They have all you can eat sushi belt dining for 49.99 which I did not do, but I can see why that would be worth it. One roll, salmon bento box (because I wanted sushi and a hot meal) and a kids udon- came out to about $65. This place seems to be Japanese run too, and while I've been dining here for take out for a while now, I've definitely been sleeping in on dining in. Service was good. We made honest mistake of placing an order near closing un early afternoon, unaware they closed that early. Store owner or manager gave a long rant about how much extra work and inconvenience our order caused when I went to pick up. I get it, but my many "sorry" wasn't enough. The sushi and desserts here are great. The ayce revolving sushi is really good and I think the $5 add-ons are worth it! We arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was pretty empty with not a lot of stuff on the rotating belt, but Helen and Susan, the waitresses let us know that if there was any sashimi or nigiri we wanted, they could let the chef know and they would put it on the belt. Around 7, the restaurant began to fill up and more variety of sushi was put on the belt. Some of the more premium nigiri we got included toro, uni, and truffle. This place has been here for over 15 years, same owner, so you know the food, service and ambiance on point. This was a food delivery experience, and I let Grubhub know my dissatisfaction. It was squarely on the food that arrived at our home and one dish in particular, the $15.35 Sake Kama. Salmon collar is a common menu item in Japanese restaurants. When broiled properly, the salmon meat can be rich and satisfying like how it's prepared at Nikko Sushi in Berkeley. What Mizoyen did was give me not only the collar but the entire fish head including the eyeballs and teeth and charred it all to the dried-out point of inedible (photo: https://bit.ly/3C7msx8). I threw it out after one ember-saturated bite. Jamie W. didn't fare much better with the $16.45 Chicken Teriyaki Dinner. Stopped by to get some wasabi because every store in the area had empty shelves and nothing available. There was literally no customers in the restaurant eating and I asked for some wasabi and offered to pay for it. The workers said to talk to the owner. The owner was disgustingly rude and said no so I offered to buy a dish and they replied "there won't be wasabi still." This is an awful way to run a business. I will never be back and no one I know will ever visit. No wonder you have no customers. I have never been treated with such terrible customer service at a restaurant. It is literally your only purpose to serve the community food. Why are you even in the business? I picked up from a different restaurant and they gave me 3x extra wasabi for free.
