Conveyor belt sushi--but with a twist: your order shoots out on a little rocket! I had to check it out, and it was such a fun experience. You seat yourself wherever you like and order everything on an iPad at your table, except for drinks. The service was a bit lukewarm--I sometimes felt like I was inconveniencing the staff when they came by--but honestly, you barely interact with them anyway. It's mostly just you and the rocket system doing its thing. I ordered miso soup, unagi, toro, and a spicy tuna hand roll. Everything was fresh with high-quality cuts, especially the toro. I also got a Shirley Temple, which came with the most perfect fresh cherry--something a lot of places surprisingly skip. All in all, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back again, whether solo or with a group.

Came here to get some sushi as a late lunch. I ordered a coupon of nigiri and a special plate. Firstly, the sushi comes in delivery belt they call Rocket (see photo). I also ordered a soda. Overall, I thought the sushi was fresh. There was no fishy taste. The slices of fish were thick. The place is in the pricier side but because the slices of fish were thicker then I suppose it makes up for it.

No beef teriyaki on the menu?!?!?!?! How is that possible for a Japanese restaurant? They have chicken, salmon, and used to beef bento boxes. But not anymore. I asked why and server had no clue. Pretty odd. Food was average. Restaurant was clean. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy.

The sushi is quite delicious here. It always taste fresh to me when I come here. I've been here quite a few times alone and with friends. It's very spacious inside the restaurant. The staff working are very polite and kind. You're usually seated right away and asked what you would like to drink. I know they do a special for $1 sale with a minimum purchase requirement. The sushi is well priced and including the special rolls. You order from a tablet and it comes out on a little rocket near the wall. So fun! The tables can fit like 4 people on each side so bring a group of friends with you!

Had a good dinner experience here. I made a reservation for Friday night at 7 PM, but it was totally not needed, the restaurant was only half full when we arrived. Servers were all very nice and the ordering process on the touchpad was easy. Food comes out pretty quickly too Fish quality is just average. My hamachi sashimi was cut super super thick so you definitely get a good amount of fish, but not sure if that's a traditional way to cut it. Salmon skin hand roll was nice with really crispy bits of salmon skin and not too much rice, which is a problem I always have with hand rolls Other specialty rolls were all tasty. I would say overall for the price, I expected better quality fish.

My favorite sushi spot in the Bay Area! Quality and portion size have not changed since I moved to Seattle three years ago. I recently visited and the nigiri cuts are still as massive as ever. Ordering is seamless and there is no wait staff involved. You order through a tablet and the food is delivered via a rocket from the kitchen. Prices are steep compared to other restaurants, but for the amount of thick fish cuts that you are getting it is worth the price. Salmon toro and otoro were my favorite. Every piece of nigiri was perfectly paired. Eating sashimi or nigiri topped with a side portion of the 'real' wasabi is highly recommended!

This place was FUN! Your food is delivered to the side by the wall on rockets! Super fun. The service was great. Clean restaurant and nice decor. I will say I didn't like the order it. Process. It took a while for us all to pick what we wanted because there wasn't a menu for us to hold individually. That being said everything we got was delicious. I can't remember everything we got but we definitely want to come back.

Friendly service and staff, pretty quick if you're in a rush. Came for one omakase. Few bites really stood out, 1-2 less so. Decent spread overall and nice presentation. Lovely rocket touch and atmosphere. Overall fairly fresh fish.

The Family Affair roll was incredible. I enjoyed the rockets and it's cute seeing the sushi come out this way. The Nigiri was amazing and fresh. The only roll that was a bit disappointing was the Cherry Blossom roll. It was dry. I've had many cherry blossom rolls and this one ranked lowest. I found tartar sauce with the soft shell crab interesting. It was labeled as a special sauce. It does not seem like a good mix. I love soft shell crab appetizers and typically have had them with a lighter (less heavy) liquid on the side.

We went here for a late lunch today! We ordered salmon sashimi and tuna sashimi and dragon roll, miso soups, and the lion king roll! Oh my goodness this sashimi was the most soft and tasty piece I ever had. It was so fresh! I was so hungry we didn't take any photos. Aah The food we ordered on the tablet menu and the order came to our table on a rocket ship revolver. It was so cute because the rocket design said nasa and it was shaped like a rocket. It was a fun experience as well! And ah definitely will come back. My only iffy is the booth seat had a weird friction to sweat pants. So when you're trying to enter and leave while scooting there is some trouble. So keep that in mind. Just for a pov with leg room.

Very good quality sushi with the fun conveyer belt and tablet ordering. My 7 user old was very entertained and the adults were happy with the selection and taste. Will absolutely return again. Really huge and clean inside, which I didn't expect from outside.

Loved this place! A variety of Japanese food, prompt service, and great shtick with the rockets. It's always fun to add a moment of play ordering from a tablet and watching your food come down a rocket themed conveyer belt. The decor and spaciousness took me back to Japan for sure! A lil review of our order: Veggie caterpillar roll: Delicious, really fresh and hearty at the same time. Spicy edamame: pretty spicy oil, not too salty, a good start to the meal. Vegetarian Udon: super savory, light broth. Noodles were so chewy in the best way! Tempura roll: Pretty yummy, but maybe a little heavy/greasier. Gyozas (not pictured): perfectly fried, really good. We came in 30 minutes before closing and had 15 minutes to order, but all the food came out so fast, and the staff served us so many refills of food and tea. As two people, we spent about $80 all in, but it was a lovely experience. We were only 2, but the tables are definitely meant for larger parties!

Pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon, not sure if the sf marathon had anything to do with it. Looks super popular with delivery apps as they have a row of tables dedicated for togo orders. Really good service, super attentive whether you're looking for the restroom or need more water. Huge portions of fish on the nigiri and even on special the special rolls. Quality is expected and not the greatest but that's the trade off for portion size. Really fishy taste in my mouth afterwards was kinda gross lol.

Ask the Community - Rocket Sushi

Do you offer hand rolls w real crab?

Yes, we have King CA had roll, with crab meat for dine-in.

Are there speakers / music in the restaurant?

There was music playing during my visit in April 2024.

One person in our party said the great benefit here was because the rocket brings your food no need to tip. What is the acceptable tip for a place where your food is brought by rocket?

We do not do mandatory tip on our bill so it's completely up to customers to decide how much to tip. Please be reminded that our servers do bring you drinks, offer assistance (special order, extra sauce/ forks/ napkin) , refill & remove plates…

Do you guys accept solo dining?

Yes, we do. Single party /big party/ party with little ones are all welcome here. 😊 Please enjoy your stay here.

Do you have the omakase on the menu all of the time?

We have it everyday for sure but with limited quantity. It could be sold out if you don’t see it on menu. Its mainly based on the quality and supply of special fishes for the Omakase.

Hi, do guy guys serve beer and sake?

Yes! Draft and bottle beer, sake, soju and wine.

Does this restaurant do birthday celebrations?

They have this loyalty program that you sign up to get rewards for every dollar you spend. If you put in your birthday, you get a FREE Chessecake on your B-day! Hope this helps.

They definitely try their best to keep the line moving and one of the main ways it seems is to highly encourage guests to look at the menu while they are waiting in line outside so as soon as they are seated they can place their order and then eat quickly so then they can vacate the seat for the next person. Because this is exactly what happened to us. Also they have written warnings and they do tell you that their policy is everybody must order their own entree there's no splitting. I wouldn't call the servers overly friendly ( we had to flag them down to order drinks after our food was served) but the food came out quickly and the orders were accurate and it tasted amazing. I have never seen MATCHA flavored Ramen anywhere else and since I'm a matcha girly, you know I had to try the Duck Matcha Ramen. When asked, the waitress was honest and said "people who like matcha, like it." Happily I am one of those people and I did like it! If you've got 45 minutes to an hour to kill chatting with your friends in line and don't mind slipping down your Ramen quickly in tight quarters then you should give this place a try.

We waited 50 minutes before it was our party of 4 got called in. There is a policy that everyone has to order at least 1 bowl of ramen. I thought that was interesting. This is a Chicken based broth ramen (Toripaitan) place. For family of 4 (2 teenage boys), we ordered $270 worth of food. 2 signature Toripaitan ramens, 1 signature Toripaitan Spicy ramen, 1 classic Toripaitan ramen, 1 Hokkaido uni and A5 Wagyu hand roll, 2 orders of 5 pieces A5 Wagyu sushi, 1 side order of A5 Wagyu slice XL, 1 corn ribs, 1 edamame, 1 vegan fried chicken made out of oyster mushroom, and 1 Matcha IPA. The ramen bowl itself is about $25/bowl. My signature Toripaitan spicy bowl soup surprisingly was not that hot. That's too bad. The thick noodles were hot though. Taste was decent. But the lukewarm broth ruined it for me. I like the side dishes better. Interesting ramen like the matcha duck and lamb cumin ramen might be with trying next time.

Literally a half a block from our hotel, Yelp showed us a 4.6 rated restaurant. Read some reviews and we were sold. We were both hungry (with my foodie son) and sat down for an early dinner. Saki was the first order of business, with an excellent recommendation from our service (sweetest person ever) Dry and not too sweet. So early we jumped right into the happy hour appetizers. The Brussels were dreamy, the chicken was pure perfection and the gyoza spectacular. Also dove into the octopus balls (not literally )and they were ridiculous. We also ordered the Niki Ramen that had us in "we can't stop eating, mode. The broth was incredible and the shaved pork just over the top! Usually these types of places serve like $5-$8 each skewers that taste bland and not filling/ satisfying. but taniku know how to actually bring out flavor from skewers making it feel more worth it. My best friend and I came here on a whim and really glad we did. The drive up was a little sketchy but the place is a small little unassuming spot - cutesy. There was a line outside and a 10-15 min wait for us (because of how small the place one) but we didn't mind. Service was also a tiny bit odd / slow but I'm not type to care too much about that especially if it's busy and the food comes on reasonable time + food is good. Customers waiting in line outside seemed confused and out of loop kept asking me since I was in front of line if there was a line or waitlist/how long the wait was. Another odd thing is their menu. I saw reviews / pictures of food that wasn't on the paper menu they gave so it was confusing what they actually offered. We ordered the Niku ramen : change to rice bowl (really good portion sizing for japanese place) tasty flavoring. not too meaty taste. kimchi was random but worked well, cut the beef sweetness and savoriness. +Added $5 soft shell crab for topping. Very good. Typically fried soft shell crab. Crispy, crabby. Scallop hand roll: seaweed was a little soft for my liking. scallop quality was very yummy. loved the yuzu. Thought the spicy mayo + yuzu pairing was too much clashing flavors. Pork Belly Skewers: sooo good. Crispy outer. soft inner. Flavorful. Chicken meatball skewer: raw egg sauce helped put it all together enhancing and uplifting the chicken itself. Very yummy. not bland. all together like $60 (not w tip) which is really good for j izakaya. I need come for happy hour
