"49er rolls" emphasis on the air quotes

The sushi itself wasn't even made fully. With delivery, I paid 92 dollars, and it didn't arrive until over an hour later. (Edit: To clarify, the 49er had no lemon already on top of the roll.... as in all the slices were apart? I ordered an assembled 49er, and yes, it is half finished because it's the only food I had, so I wasn't going to waste it? Maybe you should be more concerned about your small business...) Customer service offered NO compensation or even a discount on future orders. (As for the delivery location, your own app added the E when the address I input was the number then st but the poor user interface was responsible for the mishap here. Maybe don't advertise your poorly functioning app over a polished user experience like DoorDash or Uber Eats. If you want better reviews, do better.) Hope your 3.5-star restaurant does more effort to get higher star reviews. If you're going to get sushi, go ANYWHERE else. Get Safeway sushi; it'll be the same quality.... I stand by this review.

Samurai ramen with chicken karaage added
    claire m.

We had checked out the new Tokyo Central Market nearby. It was raining and we wanted some comfort food. We saw this place that was rated average. We thought we'd give it a try. We arrived just as they opened so we were the first ones there for lunch at 11:30 AM on Monday. We both ordered the Samurai Miso Ramen and I had chicken karaage added to mine and my husband had beef. We started with fried gyoza and those were yummy. The ramen wasn't good. The noodles were more like top ramen you get to make at home and the broth was very watery. Overall not much flavor at all. I was really disappointed. I've never had bad ramen and wasn't sure if I'd be able to know if the ramen wasn't good but I proved myself wrong. We also ordered the house hot sake and it had a bit of a vinegar taste. It wasn't good and I couldn't finish it. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I'm afraid to say I won't go back.

The food was delicious. We got the tuna and salmon sashimi. The sashimi was velvety and so fresh. The spider and hamachi roll was amazing and immaculate. The sashimi and rolls were great portions. The interior is filled with Studio Ghibli. The owner (I am assuming) Susan is very attentive and welcoming. She is very kind. I am no doubt coming again and bringing others.

This is my favorite sushi spot in the area! Cute aesthetic, calm dinner place, fun anime movies to watch on the tvs. The staff is really friendly and can answer any questions about the rolls. Sushi is fresh and I always leave satisfied. Nigiri Trios - melt in your mouth quality with fresh taste Crazy Monkey Roll - loaded and will fill you up Negi Hama Roll - simple roll, balanced amount of fish to rice

5 stars for Miyozen -- sushi heaven in a takeout box! I ordered from Miyozen recently and let me tell you... this sushi HIT. The rolls were super fresh and beautifully put together. I got the salmon avocado roll and the salmon cream cheese roll (yes, I'm a salmon girly), and both were chef's kiss. The salmon was buttery and flavorful, the avocado was perfectly ripe, and the cream cheese added the best rich, creamy balance. Presentation was top tier too -- like look at this sushi, it's giving luxury. Even in a takeout container it felt special. Plus, the portion size was generous without being overwhelming. And the pickled ginger was nice and crisp, not soggy or sad like you sometimes get with takeout. Service was quick, everything was packaged neatly, and I'll definitely be coming back for more. If you love sushi done right, Miyozen is the spot. (PS: If you're the type to judge a place by how well they balance rice texture, fish freshness, and overall vibe -- this place passes with flying colors.)

Food comes out quickly. Customer service is good. Atmosphere is very nice. They have really good root beer floats.

    AYCE Sushi Belt

Went there on a Friday evening at 4:30pm. Was too early for the AYCE Sushi Belt, so just ordered off the menu. Food was good. Sashimi was fresh. Service was great. Will probably return for the AYCE Sushi Belt.

    Buffet table

Miyozen let us a Sweet 16 party for my daughter and did a fabulous job of setting up a special table for us and making a beautiful buffet table of assorted sushi rolls and appetizers. They continued to be helpful with special orders, drinks and helping with the cake. We took a really long time but never felt rushed or ignored, which was appreciated for such a large party with varied tastes. All the food was very high quality. The Ikura, Tobiko and spicy tuna were especially excellent and the beef skewers were so good we had to keep putting orders in. They also havr a fantastic sake selection.

I've been here probably 10 times and I'm sure that number will only go up. The servers now recognize me at the front lol. One of my Emeryville faves! I've had take out and dined in and it's really good both ways. They package the takeout very thoughtfully, especially if you have spillable soups or other dishes in the bag. The atmosphere inside is very chill but good for families, friends, etc. I always just eat on my own. They have anime playing on the TVs, usually with captions so you still know what's going on. Service is super nice. I'm a simple roll type of person so I'm fond of the salmon roll and the spicy tuna. Good cuts, pretty decent price, always yummy. Miso soup is good but I usually opt for the vegetable tempura. Grilled squid is yummy but not for everyone. Fried oysters are crisp and I like them better with just a drizzle of lemon rather than dipped in the sauce. The sesame balls for dessert are soooo good and always leave me stuffed. Truly a great place and now they have a revolving sushi bar over the weekends (Fri-Sun) so I'm definitely going back to try that out!

I really like Miyozen. Jalapeño crunch, and the fried spicy California roll are reliably very good. The appetizers here are great too.

So admittedly I came here twice by accident because I forgot being here the first time. My wife and I will come into town there and again to hang out in Alameda and when we do, this is one of the better restaurants in town. Seems to me its a family operation, service is warm and friendly. Ambiance is laid back, cafe style. The menu has all the typical fare, I got the teryaki salmon meal both times and it was pretty good. Could use a little more sauce but you can always ask and I'm sure they'd be happy to provide at no charge. Also got the salmon collar which was particularly good. Prices are a little high for the area, but I would expect that given there's not a lot of sushi around, so they deserve the bump. 10$/nigiri though on some salmon is a *sconch* too high, they should do this a bit smarter. Only big things for me is just keep the hot sake HOT, it was mildly warm when I got mine, but this a common gripe I say about tons of places so not really gonna make a big deal about it. I'm on a mission to get house hot sake hotter across these lands. All in all, comparatively its great for Alameda, but would not stack up at these prices anywhere in Oakland, or SF. An excellent option of convenience if you don't feel like traveling.

Just be prepared to spend a little.. a lunch for one adult and two kids can easily come close to $100. Izumi right across the street has a very similar concept with conveyor belt sushi and comparable food, but it's noticeably much less expensive.
