Miz Hattie's restaurant is definitely a welcoming and warm restaurant in the Main Street section of Beacon, Ny. The owner Miz Hattie is nice, humorous southern woman. The ambiance is surrounded by the other restaurants in a cafeteria/food court type area. I ordered the pulled chicken bowl and baked macaroni and cheese. The baked Mac and cheese was very flavorful and moist. Nice sweet and cheesy taste. The pulled bbq chicken was okay. The chicken was tender but could have been more flavorful. Overall I give this restaurant an 8/10. Definitely will recommend and will return. Follow more reviews on my TikTok page at Biglee52291

    Bread Pudding

Happy to finally try this fairly new spot in town. The fried chicken was very good I even ate the coleslaw of which I am normally not a fan. Enjoyed the bread pudding, too! Friendly staff texted me a pic of the current menu and, most importantly, delivered our meals on a hot Friday afternoon.

Despite the fact that it doesn't look like much, and I must admit, I was expecting more for $26, it was good. What impressed me the most is that the Cashier called Ms. Hattie to find out if the crab cakes and salmon pattie were GF. She uses flour in both so they weren't. I didn't learn until after I received my meal that the breading for the fish also has gluten. I think that was why there's so little of it there because Ms. Hattie cooked a fillet without the breading. However, when I mentioned that I was expecting more fish from what I had seen in the menu photos, she went back and cooked another fillet. She said: "I wish I really could've spiced it up for you". However, the flavor on both the shrimp and the fish was delicious and they were both cooked to perfection. I substituted the fries for the spinach and somehow the fries still made it on my plate, maybe as a filler because it still looked empty with the fries. My friends ate the crab cake and salmon pattie and loved them. I only gave Miz Hattie's 3 stars due to the portion in comparison with the price and what was advertised.

The best Mac and Cheese I have ever had. Hands down. Excellent food and true southern BBQ. And Miz Hattie is awesome! Highly recommended!!

Very colorful interior with bar at the end of the space and an outdoor area. There has been quite a few different vendors over the last five years there. On our last visit we decided to try Nami Yum Yum. We ordered a veggie sushi sandwich ($14) for me, which featured a few veggies with rice wrapped up in soy paper; New York Strip ($25) for him, which was a bowl with steak, roasted potatoes and other things; Sweet Plantains ($6) for the table, with cream and cotija. We both got a Jarritos each. Service was timely. Everything was creative. I never had a sushi sandwich. It tasted pretty good too. I wasn't really feeling well and couldn't enjoy it as much as I intended to, but it was nevertheless yummy and unique. My sandwich came with a side of puffed up chips (I actually don't know what they are called). The plantains were also very good. I am glad we ordered them as a side because it was a good side to eat with our meals. Overall no complaints, I would eat there again.

We decided to grab dinner here last minute on Saturday night of our trip to Beacon. This seemed…read morelike a great option because it meant that my husband and I could order different meals but still eat them together. There were only 5 different food stalls plus the ice cream stall in the very front, however only 3 of the food stalls were open at 7pm on a Saturday. This is a small town, so I get it, but I was thoroughly surprised at this because of how crowded the entire town had been all weekend (it was truly the perfect weather to be out here!). The taco food stall had some Mac and cheese that I really wanted, but he was so overwhelmed with making a large order with only one person helping him that he literally told me to come back in 30 minutes to place my order. I ended up ordering the Pimento Grilled Cheese Sandwich from the burger place, where the guy (working solo) told me it would take about 30 minutes before it would be ready. We were in no rush, and it was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! The ooey gooey cheese paired with perfectly browned Texas toast satisfied my hunger after a long day of hiking and window shopping. My husband ordered the Paneer Kati Roll + Mango Lassi from the Indian food stall. He liked the roll, however we both decided that the lassi was average at best. Additionally, they served it with ice which was a huge disappointment (**being that my husband is from India, we have standards regarding Indian food). I'm giving 4 stars because the overall atmosphere of this food hall was not the best... Definitely NOT enough seating... They didn't seem to have anyone on staff taking care of the place, so the two tables that were empty when we arrived were extremely dirty (we cleaned one ourselves). They also didn't have napkins readily available and only 2 individual restrooms, despite having a bar in the back. Also, it was SO DARK inside... Scarce lighting which was not very pleasant or welcoming, especially since the sun was shining brightly outside. There is an outdoor patio, which is great, however because the weather was nice it was completely full. Final thoughts: this is a great place to grab lunch or dinner with a group of friends, especially if no one can agree on where to go. There's a variety of options and something for everyone to enjoy!

Always a wide variety of beers, the brown ale is my husband's fave while I tend to go for one of their ciders. Yesterday, there to watch the Premier League opener, I opted for a Gin & Tonic. Whoa, legit was probably the best G&T I've had a a bar in ages! They use a local gin from Warwick too. So if you're just going for drinks and a game/match you're in very good hands. But don't overlook their food offerings. The menu has been dependable (smash burger never fails) but they've added some new items and they are really super. The Birria tacos are a new item and are served in blue corn tortillas. Delicious. Poutine is absolutely yummy with savory gravy topped w fresh green onion. Even the chips & guacamole are stepped up w terrific double crunchy chips. The space is gorgeous, wide open and bright with high ceilings, wide tables and benches. So you never get that feeling that you've entered a black hole time warp on a lovely day. The real cherry on top of the place is the staff and vibe. Greeted kindly by every staff member with easy conversation about the game or what's on offer. It's a welcoming place for sure with an ace in the hole of how it strives to craft community first. So all this, along with quality food & drink? It's class. Well done Newburgh Brewery! Looking forward to our next visit!

What it does lack, however, is a standalone boba shop. While Asahi is, first and foremost, a poke restaurant, it does offer a selection of boba teas and slushies. The weather had just turned from dreary cold to summery hot, so I was craving my favorite Asian drink. After some hand-wringing (I couldn't decide which one to get), I finally settled on an iced strawberry tea with milk foam. I wasn't confident in my order, but all my anxieties allayed at first sip. It was delicious! The boba was soft, the strawberry flavors came through strongly without tasting artificial, and the milk foam added a complex layer of creaminess and saltiness that elevated the drink altogether. Even my husband, who's not much of a boba drinker, thought it was great (and kept stealing sips). If you're in Beacon and you're suddenly hit with a hankering for boba, try Asahi.
