    Fried Dumplings

I didn't want to come here but it was close and I wanted to try something new. When entered I wasn't greeted and I was the only person there beside from the workers. I Was going to give it 4 but if possible to give 3.5 then that'll be it. I previously posted videos of what I ordered Bakery roll *cooked sushi* Happy family Fried Dumplings The dumplings were amazing 10/10 but everything else was a no. It was my first time trying sushi and I don't know if it's suppose to be a fish texture but that's what it was so I won't try it again and then with the happy family it came with chicken, flank steak, shrimp, veggies which also came with fried rice, egg roll and crab Rangoon. No no no it wasn't no flavor and it wasn't fried rice it was just brown rice and certain areas of the food was cold and the "steak" it was just very chewy and fatty and on top the egg rolls were greasy and doughy so when I called him over to talk about it he got very defensive over it and said he eats it all the time etc. I would get nothing again and the thing I would get is the dumplings him *the manager* while he was sitting down on his phone doing nothing

    Supposed Massaman Curry.

Y'all need to go back to Curry School. This is supposed to be Massaman Curry. It's a bowl of potatoes with a flavorless sauce, cashews and some avocado. Last time I ordered from here, the Curry Fried Rice was nothing but curry. A happy medium would be nice. Until then, no curry for Carla

We love eating here! Do your self a favor an order the bagel rolls! This is my go to meal almost every time!

AMBIANCE (4/5): Tons of indoor & outdoor patio seating, although it seemed like everyone pre-ordered or picked up to go. They have 2 long communal tables and a ton of 2-4 people tables. The wood tables make it look rustic, pop music playing so it's not awkwardly quiet. SERVICE (3/5): You order at the counter first, a single cashier, but it goes fairly quickly. Most of the staff is in the back kitchen. It's more "serve yourself". You grab your own drinks from the fridge, all utensils, napkins, and water are already on the table, and throw your own trash away, everything is in disposable containers. FOOD (4/5): $22 BUILD YOUR OWN BOWL: I personally didn't like the signature rice, I wanted the crispy rice fritters but they were sold out at 1:30pm on a Friday. The crispy Brussels were AMAZING! Definitely get this for a (+$2.50 upgrade). Bulgogi ribeye was sweet and delicious! Cashier offered a side of spicy Korean sauce which I didn't realize I'd be charged for, just wish she told me it was an additional cost (+$0.75). It doesn't need any extra sauce, the bowls are very saucy! And I'm a heavy sauce person. Also added a fried egg (+$2). The bowl was very delicious, minus the signature rice, I'd get all crispy Brussels next time! $4 BUTTERFLY TEA: very sweet, but good! $4 MINI COOKIES (4-PACK): I got 2 chocolate chip and 2 banana chip cookies. A little dry, but yummy. OVERALL (4/5): This is a FAST-CASUAL restaurant. They ask for automatic tip at the cashier, but you pretty much service yourself except when they bring out the food. I honestly wasn't expecting to spend this much for a quick lunch (total was $36), but I wanted to try everything. Now I know what I like and don't like here and excited to try some of the other bowl options! Definitely recommend this place! Very yummy!

Awkward Welcome, Bland Food, but Attentive Service Rating:…read more (2/5) Review (posted June 22, 2025): I visited Big Bear Asian Buffet at 6 PM on a Sunday evening, hoping for a fresh buffet experience during the dinner rush. Unfortunately, it fell short from the start. When I walked in, I followed the sign that said "Please wait to be seated." I stood there for several minutes as multiple waitresses looked at me but said nothing. It was uncomfortable. Eventually, a woman in a hoodie and sweatsuit appeared, said nothing, waved for me to follow her, and pointed at a table. Still no greeting, no words--just an awkward start to the meal. Once I was seated, one of the original waitresses came over to take my drink order. She ended up being the bright spot of the visit--very attentive and made sure my drink was always topped off. The food, however, didn't live up to expectations. Most of the hot dishes were lukewarm and lacked seasoning. I tried the sushi--five options total--and sadly, all were dry and very bland, like they'd been sitting out for a long time. Not what you'd hope for at prime dinner time. It's worth noting that the place seems to be a hotspot for locals picking up to-go boxes. I watched several people come in, pile food to the very top of their takeout containers, and head out within minutes. So maybe that's their main crowd--but it didn't do much to improve the dine-in experience. Bottom line: The service at the table was solid, but everything else--cold welcome, tired food, and lack of overall hospitality--makes it unlikely I'll return. There are better buffet options in the area where you'll feel like more than just another transaction.

I also ordered a lychee martini, which was amazing. It had the perfect balance of flavor without being overly sweet, making it easy to enjoy alongside the meal. For appetizers, I tried the crab appetizer with the beignets. The combination was a bit of an acquired taste in my opinion, but the beignets themselves were perfectly cooked--light, crispy, and fresh. The steak appetizer was also very good and a solid choice to start the meal. A special shoutout to the bartender, who was fantastic. Since it was my first time visiting, I had quite a few questions, and he took the time to walk me through the menu in detail. He explained the dishes, ingredients, and flavors thoroughly and gave excellent recommendations based on what I was looking for. His suggestions were spot on and definitely elevated the experience. The only miss for me was the pound cake dessert. It wasn't what I expected from a traditional pound cake. It had a green color and a flavor profile that just wasn't for me. If you're expecting a classic buttery pound cake, this may not be it. That said, the food, drinks, and service were all memorable, and I can definitely see why Poor Calvin's is such a popular Atlanta restaurant. I'd absolutely return to explore more of the menu.
