Jay did it again! This is the newest (2nd) location to open, the original being Modern Nails. MJ had a few transfer over from the original site. I'm super lucky because Jay, my nail technician moved over and it's closer to my house. Best thing to do is make an appointment online. That ensures you get in on time and get exactly what you want. This location is beautiful, clean and modern. Loved that when anyone walks in they are immediately greeted, ask why they need, wash their hands and mask is mandatory. I love that. It makes me feel safe and secure knowing Jay and his staff are keeping us and themselves safe. You get what you pay for... and that's quality. Sure you can find somewhere cheaper however it won't be as clean or as good as a job. I care too much about my safety. They on the counter have open viewing of their sanitary items and will open new packages in front of you. I see the employees wash their hands constantly. Forged Signature, Infection, Unprofessional Response from Business, Misuse of Personal Information. Me again! It's getting worse people Jay D is now texting me from his personal phone about the review. But not to rectify it in any matter, but to retaliate in a highly unprofessional manner, again. Talk about a misuse of personal information. Terrible. This is my third time editing this review because Jay D, the business owner, has retaliated each time instead of handling in a professional manner - enough reason to not want to do business here. He direct messaged me unwarranted, because of the feedback provided. Photo attached. The inability to receive constructive feedback and retaliate this way speaks volumes to their management's character, which likely trickles down to the service that the staff offers and their business practices. MJ Nails is really providing more reasons not to visit them on their own. Based on my experience at the salon, and interaction with the business owner, I'm very confident that anyone who visits here will have an unfavorable experience. Avoid at all costs. - This place sucks. I contracted nail infections both times I received a service. One infection was so bad that I woke up in the middle of the night to a swollen, painful nail bed. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned for another service only to receive another infection, this time in my cuticle. That's not a coincidence. Along with that second visit, and the primary reason I do not recommend this place is because they overcharged me for a service and then forged my signature for authorization. My service was listed at $55, I was charged $90 with no explanation and still tipped 33% on that (you're welcome Mike). I tried calling multiple times to inquire about this overcharge to find some sort of rectification but the business was not communicative. It's hard enough to even call to book an appointment. Since they ghosted me, I went to American Express to dispute the charge, not even the entire payment, just the difference for the unaccounted amount. Then, AMEX sent me a receipt from them that I allegedly "signed". It was fake. MJ Nails forged my signature on their merchant copy. Luckily, AMEX recognized that it wasn't my signature also and deemed it fraudulent. I deliberately remember not signing during that visit, roll security footage of my entire visit and you'll see I didn't. And what they pathetically tried to forge wasn't even close to my signature. It was a sad attempt at my signature. In conclusion, I highly don't recommend this place especially after all I was seeking was good service, and rectification for poor service and instead received a forged signature and retaliating owner. - In response to @Jay D business owner's comment: First of all your link to the photo doesn't work. Second of all, American Express provided me the photo of the "signed copy" you sent back and it doesn't match any of the authorized signatures on my official documents so it's illegitimate :) because it's not my signature :) What evidence can you provide that would make that signature mine and not one of your employees? Where's the security footage of me signing it? There is none. You have none. That's not the signature on my drivers license, or back of credit card, or anywhere, because I didn't sign that :) Your business signed it and scanned it when you realized I was charging back the transaction. As a business practice, you're not even supposed to accept signatures if they don't match the back of a card. I didn't sign that and I'm happy to pursue further action if you continue to falsely claim that as mine. You are right about it being an "illegal practice" and that's why it needs to be known that your business participated in that activity. Because I didn't sign anything. Quit trying to say it's my signature, it's 100% false. Your business provided poor, and now unethical services with zero rectification. First off, let's start with facts. I paid $100 to get my eyelashes filled , My regular lady was on maternity leave, i was referred to Eggie. Mj nails sent me a text that morning rescheduling my apt not my error so it caused a my apt to be delayed 10 am instead of 9:30. Eggie was aware of this and never appologized or took accountability now im rushed ..... eggie rushed me out of the chair basically. This process usually takes anywhere from 2hours.She was done in a 1 hour, 10 min. While the eyelash tech was doing my eyelashes , I pretty much felt like she was rushing me out of the chair and she wasn't doing the process correctly. I woke up this morning and the complete right side of my eyelash are on her pillow and in the bed. I go into salon yesterday, the eyelash tech tells me that there's nothing that can be done, I asked to to talk with the manager Micky (supposedly), the receptionist says there's a 15 minute wait ,After waiting to talk to her for 30 minutes, the only conclusion we came to is 20% off of it getting fixed , which is another $80 . These people are racist , very unprofessional and have tact at all. (Please don't spend any of your hard earned money with this salon.) Avoid at all cost. After shopping around to many different nail salons, I found my spot about a year ago. I've been coming here every month since. When you walk in you check in on an iPad. It allows you to collect points. Once you get to 10 you get a discount on your service. Everyone is welcoming when you arrive. The inside is beautiful with white marble floors and dark blue chairs. The pedicure massage chairs and bowls surround the salon. They use good quality products. They offer things like hybrid gel and gel x. My gel manicures last over a month here. The nail techs are great at listening to what shape and length you want and a lot of them can do really fun designs. They even have stickers. The basic pedi is top quality! They have the best scrubs and locations and even do the hot towels and leg massages. And I love that they line the bowls to keep everything clean. I personally will go to anyone. Great experience! Very clean salon and all employees are taking extra precaution during this time. They ask you to wash your hands right away upon arrival and they clean each station once a customer leaves. The atmosphere is SUPER relaxing and they provide non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages to enjoy during your service. I chose to do a deluxe pedicure that came with a whole bunch of scrubs, oils, multiple massages, hot stones, callus removal, and then the pedicure and color. My lady was sooo good, and very thorough! The salon was very clean and practiced a lot of Covid safe social distancing. I appreciate the fact that everyone who comes in is instructed to go wash their hands first. I had the jelly pedicure by a young man that I unfortunately didn't get his name because I fell asleep. It was an hour long treatment that was so relaxing and included hot stones. Kim gave me my dipping powder manicure and it is sooooo good!!!! I was in Vegas 2 weeks ago and got my nails done at another salon and I was so unhappy with the results. But Kim totally redid them and I could not be happier Kim also waxed my eyebrows and they are perfect. Had a terrible experience. Decided to switch from my normal nail shop after moving just because the drive was a bit far. After trying MJ nails by my house I will NOT be returning. Me and my mom wanted to pamper ourselves so paid for the more expensive green tea pedicure with gel and french tips. I noticed that I was not receiving the same level of service that my mom was when it came to callus removal, and overall softening of my feet. My mother spoke up to my nail tech once she starting moving along to painting, along the lines of "excuse me ma'am did my daughter get callus removal?" where we were blatantly ignored. My mom said excuse me a couple more times, even tried talking to the tech doing her nails where we continued to be ignored by all the staff although they were speaking to each other and another one of the techs further down in the room. This was blatantly rude and dismissive of the nail techs where my mother tried AGAIN to speak up and was still ignored. At this point we knew we would not be coming back, it's a shame the actual nail painting came out great! When it came to checkout they upcharge us an extra $10 more for our pedicures than our techs told us the price was beforehand which I guess came down to discretion of the upcharge of french tips. Made an appointment online this morning for anyone available this afternoon. Came in, everything is spaced apart nicely, masks required and after you check in they have you immediately wash your hands. Didn't wait long, and got seated with Carly. I showed her a picture of what I had in mind and told her the changes I wanted to make and the length of the shape. Not only did she make it better than the picture I showed her, but it was one of the easiest, pain free full sets I've ever had done. She also did my pedicure which also turned out better than I anticipated since I hadn't had one since quarantine started. I came to MJ nails last Friday 2/9 for the first time. I started my experience with a pedicure. Anne was absolutely amazing. She was kind, professional and overall gave me an amazing experience. I did not get the techs name that did my manicure however she was not as great. She kept hitting my skin with the electric file. No matter how many times I said ouch or pulled my hand away she kept grabbing my hand and kept doing it. She was rough and it was painful it was the furthest experience from relaxing. I had a gel X extension manicure & a deluxe pedicure at MJ. My technician was Lily 2. This lady was wonderful & talented. I stopped getting my fingernails done almost 10 years ago. The nails always began chipping & lifting almost immediately. I have just been just getting a regular manicure with clear regular polish. However, I was going to a special event & decided to try something fancy after all these years. I found the salon and read the reviews of others to try and find someone who could do my nails with a better outcome. Lily 2 was the one I chose & I couldn't be happier. She listened to my description of past problems & said she could address the issues. I took her recommendations & was so happy I did. She spent a lot of time with me doing all the little extras to make sure my manicure would last. My nails have never looked better! People stop me on the street to tell me how pretty & elegant looking they are. I am now 5 days out & my nails look as if she just finished. This is like a miracle to me. My pedicure was also wonderful-it was one that was extra moisturizing. I give my highest recommendation for Lily 2. I should also mention that she is super friendly in addition to being so skilled. I've been looking for a nail salon for years now since I moved to Vegas and since this place opened nearby my house I decided to check it out. One thing I really like about this establishment is the hours. As someone who works every day of the week it's difficult to find a place I don't have to rush to after work if need be. The place is modern, open, and very beautiful. You check in (I recommend making an appointment) and immediately wash your hands (thanks, CoVid). The workers are super friendly and even dress up for Halloween, which I thought was super cute. I've had a pedicure done at this establishment and the chairs are super comfortable and have great massage features. The pedicures come with your choice of scent and are very thorough and comfortable. I've also had a gel manicure here and to be honest I've had better. I don't know what they used, but after a week my nails started peeling off completely. Not chipping, PEELING. I really wanted to fully like this place but for what it's worth, I'm not sure I'd get any service done past a gel manicure just based on the quality of it. read more

UPDATE: The owner Jay was kind enough to reach out and rectify the situation. However unfortunately my schedule for this week with work & traveling I am not able to go in and have the nails fixed. I do appreciate the time he took to contact me and try to correct the issue. Maybe one day I'll attempt this location once more. I really wanted to like this place & I did... up until the end of my visit. Once I got home, I was then really unhappy. I read a solid amount of reviews prior to scheduling an appointment for a gel x fill and basic pedicure and figured, why not? I mean their ratings were high and it wasn't just a few reviews it was hundreds so I went out on a limb since my usual girl is out of town. Upon arrival I was greeted and everyone was pleasant, I waited for a pedicure bowl at most 5 minutes. The pedicure itself was great... there's a lot more to it (i.e: sugar scrub, extra massage with what I am assuming was a lotion and then another massage, finishing up with a nice hot towel) in comparison to most places and their "basic" / standard pedicures. It wasn't until I got home and looked closely at my pedicure and realized, I pretty much paid to eventually get an ingrown once my toenail starts growing in. (See attached photos) Next came my gel x, they apparently don't do fills? So I paid for a whole new set, fine ... I was probably due for one anyway.. no big deal. The lady I had was nice and attentive, she kept asking if the length and shape were good and without the polish, I explained it was slightly difficult to see how the length would be but overall I loved the shape. She painted my pinky and I said oh, that's a lot longer than I expected my nails to be... can we file them down? She replied, yes...but can we wait until after the polish. I said sure, because what do I know about nails? I am obviously paying for them to be done. She continues the service and at the end, I said ... "sorry do you mind if we still file them down" she proceeds to file my pinky down and then goes all of them?? I actually felt bad! Which is strange because I am paying for a service. She filed my nails aggressively and unevenly; not only that I get home to try and fix it and realized my nails are so thick. I have been doing gel x for some time and this is the first time I have ever seen this. I was hoping to be back for an occasional pedicure but the chances are unlikely. I walked in without an appointment and had about a 10min wait for a pedicure. I heard this place gets kinda busy, so I'm glad I was able to squeeze in. The ladies at the door booking appointments and checking you out weren't the friendliest and weren't the most welcoming considering I was a new patron. No one asked what type of pedicure I wanted, until I asked for a menu. Also they have complimentary drinks. However, I was never offered a drink. The saving grace for this salon was my tech Victor. He was really gentle with my feet and did a really good job. I had the pearl pedicure and it was awesome. If I'm ever back in Henderson, I will may give them another opportunity. read more
