MK Electric provided outstanding service! I called them to unwind a bad oven installation performed by a handyman. The licensed electrician, Min, was warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Once he had the oven out, he quickly identified that not only were the wires not connected right by the handyman, the connections were not secured in a metal box for fire protection. Well, Min didn't waste any time fixing it all. Once he was done, the new convection oven fired right up and was ready for use. MK Electric charged us what they quoted for the service call, which we thought was competitive and quite reasonable for a competent, licensed electrician. I used a space heater in the living room which tripped the circuit. Couldn't find what the problem was and made the problem worse by playing with the circuit breakers which caused the electricity in half the house to go out. Called Min and this was a Sunday. He responded within a few hours and came within 1/2 hour. He showed me how to work the circuit breakers on the bottom. He replaced a faulty outlet and replaced an outside outlet. In the morning, our circuit breaker tripped, leaving no power to our kitchen including critically the refrigerator. Although I tried to flip the breaker myself, it wouldn't stick. I made a quick call to Min at MK Electric, and due to previous engagements he wasn't available but he was very patient and asked me to send a picture of the breaker. After examining the picture, he told me the trick to resetting the breaker correctly with my panel (it was a bit tricky) which worked. Extremely​ happy with MK Electric and glad to say that I have a trusted electrician I can rely on from now on. Min Kang is the main guy. We found him on Yelp as soon as we moved to Porter Ranch. He responded via email within hours and was always super responsive via phone and text as well. He was always on time or even early whenever we needed him over at the house for estimates and service. We needed recessed lighting added in some rooms, recessed lighting fixtures replaced, light switches added and updated, as well as exterior motion detection lights installed. Min not only gave a reasonable estimate for all the work, he over-communicated (in a great way) the options, challenges, and opportunities we had with each request. So we felt very comfortable making decisions with his guidance. He's been to our home a half dozen times, for estimation and actual service. We love working with him and keep wanting to bring him back for more. Another example of why we love him: the exterior motion detection lights were not functioning as expected. He changed out the electrical panel to accommodate the new system and grounded the electrical wires. He even added 2 electrical outlets in the garage because I only had one. I only needed one for the extra fridge and garage door. Above and beyond, this guy. He even did the stucco surrounding the panel because he had to enlarge the hole. WHAT??? The external electrical box for my spa burned out. It apparently shorted due to rainwater getting in. So a few inches of the wiring was damaged (oxidized) also. Min Kang came out to estimate the job. He is very personable and gave a full explanation of my options and answerer my questions. He needed to procure the box and returned two days later, to complete the job. As the old box was literally burned out, Min wanted to check the current draw when the spa was back in operation. So he came back another day (after I got the spa refilled and running), to check the current draw on each side of the 240 volt input. This part was above and beyond the call of duty. I was so surprised by how pleasant and easy it was to work with Min. My past experience hiring electricians was not the same so I expected more of the same. I needed an EV charger installed so I started with a quote request on Yelp. I heard from Min quickly - easily within an hour. This was somewhat expected based on Yelp info but was still caught off-guard when he called so soon. He was very accommodating when I asked for an evening appointment to inspect the panel and provide the quote. Min's quote was better than the previous one I had but on top of that, he agreed to do the job without impacting my work schedule. He was on time, didn't leave a mess, and happily answered other questions I had about future home projects. If I had hired Min for electrical work I paid for in the past, my expectations probably would not have been so low at the beginning of this hiring process. I called Min because he already did work for me before & I was impressed with his honesty. I told him that the power is out on one of my bedrooms. I also told him that I reset the switches by the bedroom & the switch on the circuit breaker. Min came out really early to accommodate my whacky schedule. I asked if he could come as early as 7:00 AM for a FREE ESTIMATE. He knocked on my door at 6:59:45. Incredibly prompt, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. He installed an exterior 240V Nema 14-50 outlet for me later the same day. He was more than willing to explain everything that he was doing, but never condescended or seemed bothered about doing so. Because it was a fairly simple job, he was able to give me a "pre-estimate" over the phone, before he actually took a look at what he needed and the final price was really close to that ($20.00 difference)! During his estimate, he was very forth coming about what he was looking for and I never felt like he was trying to gouge me. I got several other estimates (2 of them lower than Min's estimate) but I felt comfortable having Min do the work. His work is very clean, very professional, and very minimalist. He went above and beyond to try to anticipate and accommodate what I would need. I would definitely recommend him.
