I have gone here twice, once for a fill and once for a full set which is the pink ones. This salon has the best nail artists for the lowest price BUT girls that like long nails will have to pay more - which sucks and i always hate when i go expecting to pay $20 for a full set (the price list doesn't say 20+, just $20) and i left paying 35, although i got gel. at first for the length i originally wanted the woman said $35! that's a lot for barely any length added. i told her to do whatever length $25 would be and chose a gel polish since it would last longer. chrome nails are an extra $25 the woman told me, which is also steep for that. overall they do have the best prices, no one really talks and the people who do nails aren't the friendliest, but at the end of the day i go for good nails and not to have a conversation, although the price upping has frustrated me, i always have left with nails i love. i recommend. both times the man that works in the shop has done my nails and he truly takes his time to make sure he does detailed and good work that i will love, he also asks if i like how they look a few times throughout. I just wish they didn't up the price so much for length. for gel ( which is $10 added to a full set which is $20, and a fill is $13 but he said $15 because of length ) and for chrome and designs i completely understand the upcharge. I would also like to note that not only one of the people who does nails is good, everyone is really good at nails ( acrylic ) and i never have to worry about who is doing them although i prefer the man who works in the store. I went to MK Nails during a visit to my hometown for my birthday (I live in NYC now but my parents live in Norfolk). I had a mani-pedi and my nail tech did an amazing job doing chrome nails. She used the same stuff I see nail techs using on Instagram and I love how reflective they are! She also shaped my natural nails really well, I wanted them narrow like a coffin. My pedicurist was also great. Nice massage chairs to relax in while you get your feet pampered. read more

This is my first time coming into this nail salon this past week. The shop isn't fancy like others but they get the job done in a neat & timely manner I like to try different shops around the area, because they all do their nails differently. With them, I was satisfied with my nails overall. I received a gel fill-in from a previous nail shop I originally got them done for my birthday. They fixed my nails by replacing my missing ones & making my coffin nail shape sharp & accurate. I will be back again & definitely recommend them to others. read more

Their prices are very reasonable and they have a good selection of colors, my gel polish usually lasts 14 days and the pedicures are pretty good too. My biggest complaint is they do not open at a set time. They have two signs in the front window, one sign says they open at 9:30 Monday-Saturday, the other sign says they open at 10:00. My mom and I went to get our nails done and we arrived at 9:30, at 10:10 they finally showed up to open. They were unapologetic and when I said something the owner pointed to the 10:00 sign. I asked how was a customer to know when they open if there are two different signs with two different times, dismissively he said they open between 9:30 and 10:00. It wouldn't be an issue if they would accept appointments, but they don't so it's a crap shoot whether you will have a long wait or not. read more

If I could rate this a 0 star I would. I got my nails done on 2/29 for an upcoming vacation. I decided to treat myself and get a dip set and my toes done which come to $77. That was fine ya know treat yourself. On 3/2 a nail literally busted off. So 2 days into having them one broke. I had no time to go back and get it redone due to work obligations. Through out my time on vacation another 4 of them busted off. Now keep in mind busting off doing non strenuous activity like putting on my shoes. It was so annoying because I got them done for a reason and ended up looking busted. All my friends told me to go back and see if they could do anything for me since I had picture evidence of the whole thing. When I came in I very calmly explained what happened, showed my receipt and even the pictures I took. They told me I could pay full price for a full set or have them removed which they would charge me for in the end as well. Never going there again, terrible customer service and what's even worse the amount of money I spent and time getting them done meant absolutely nothing to them. I couldn't believe the audacity. I had grown out my nails and wanted to get them done since I havn't grown them out very long before. I had wanted to do my nails here before so I decided that today was that day. I came in 30 minutes after they opened and was the first one in. One of the ladies greeted me kindly and got started with me right away. I picked a sparkly black ombré nail, and at first I thought the base color was too bright but didn't say anything, trusting her to believe she knows what she was doing. She also shaped and buffed my nail after she painted it on, which is something I havnt experienced before but liked. She was verg detail oriented and she did the almond shape PERFECTLY. I was super impressed with her work. Overall, it took about 1 1/2 hours to do my nails, and I am so satisfied. I think my nails look beautiful and I will be definitely coming back again! I only paid $45 + tip for these beauties, and I think that it's a reasonable price. Just a tip to anyone, do come in early. I noticed about this time (11:30 is when I walked out), a lot of people started coming in. So come about 9:45/10 in the morning and you'll get your nails done right away! read more

This was the worse nail experience I've ever had. It took 3 hours for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. There was hair in the feet soaking tub. After telling my technician, and repeatedly told me it was my hair. After refusing to put my feet he he finally pulled it out in a huff. The tech who did my manicure was incredibly slow in doing my nails. I repeatedly had to ask for her to make corrections to my application. Finally I just told her I would leave because I was running late for another appointment. She told me to come back the next day to correct her mistakes but I was over it and this salon. It was super cheap and good thing it was because I would not spend over $20 for the job she did. That was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. The lady I had was so violent! I don't know how many times I said "ouch". She cut me a few times, she got nail polish on my sandals and just did a bad job on the polish in general. So, this is my second review on this salon. My review/score went down by a star for the following reasons. They don't accept appoints. I went there for the second time on a Monday at 1:30 in the afternoon. I didn't expect to have to wait 45 mins. There was a guy who was finishing up a client and who I thought was going to do my fill and pedicure. However, they gave me to some other lady. I tend to observe all the techs when going to a salon just in case my normal person isn't available. I observed this lady before and she basically sucked but I thought ok I will give her a try. I knew within 15 mins that it was not going to work. She pulled out her phone not once not twice but three times. The 3rd time she pulled the phone completely out and was texting for over 5 mins. The lady that did it before kept looking at her trying to give her a hint to stop texting or give me to someone else. She finally started and was doing such a horrible job that I asked that someone else complete my service. I won't be back not accepting appointments and having to roll the dice or wait long extended times just to get someone competent is too much for me. I won't be back. I like Anna but it's not worth the hassle. read more

This place is the perfect example of looks being deceiving! This shop is a tiny family run hole in the wall with THE BEST SERVICE! I found this place on yelp a long time ago and it was the highest rated nail salon in Norfolk and I can completely see why! My nails look beautiful every time! The father is a perfectionist! You can tell how much effort he puts into each set and it looks perfect each time. I keep my nails done and I've been to tons of salons around Hampton roads and I always regret not going back to MK Nails! They offer gel colors I've yet to see anywhere else and get countless compliments on. The only reason I don't give them a full 5 stars is that due to it being a small salon the wait time is usually at least an hour and they do not accept appointments. I've made the mistake of going else where when the wait time is too long and have reverted it each time. MK nails has the best results and is well worth the wait! read more
