Clam strips(left), 4 Oz. Cod Sauces left to right: tartar, mn sauce, malt vinegar

Very good quality fish and batter, but be ready to spend a little more for it. The owner is very nice, there are 9 tables, it's located in a strip mall off Gleason in Apple valley, the music is smooth jazz elevator music? I am posting a pic of clam strips and cod. The owner is very proud of his halibut so I will probably swing by to check that out. Worlds better than say, a Red Lobster or several local bars and grills.

We stopped in as we wanted to try the newer restaurant. We tried fish sandwiches but were disappointed in the size of the fish and bland taste. It was expensive for two people and we split an order of chips. The 4 pieces of mini cheesecake were pretty good. It was the cleanest restaurant I have been in. Staff were constantly cleaning tables and service was friendly.

Wanted tacos and saw this relatively new place! This is in a small strip mall so there is a small amount of free parking. The vibe: gray.... Very gray. Gray walls, chairs, tables. There are a couple sayings on the wall. This would not be a spot I would stay and eat. The service was very good and pretty quick. I was told it would take about 15 minutes for the chicken wings but it didn't take that long. The food: The tacos were tasty! I liked the catfish the most but the walleye and shrimp were also very good! This is not an authentic taco joint tho. Flour tortillas and nothing overly spicy. However, still very good! The chicken wings on the other hand... I hate to use this word but they were gross... No seasoning, not crispy. Very greasy and tough.... I'm glad I got those tacos or I wouldn't be back. Overall, this place is just ok. I would go back to try just the fish and chips aspect. I would also get the tacos again but would take them to go.

Cod Fish Taco's 2 under $10, it's a good value! I don't get drink or use a CC, prefer to use Cash.. $1.50 Tip adequate

Fish tacos were great! Freshness of the pico really set it off along with the sauce. Friendly staff. Definitely give it a shot. Will be back

This is the food spot we eat at the most hands down. At least 2-4 times a month. I love the food. Their Tinga is sooo good. I ordered a side of their rice the other day (because I love it in my burritos) and oh my gosh that was amazing. But the staff don't even fill up my cup full of rice . It was only like 80% full. Felt like I got ripped off a bit, for the cost. I also really wish they would look into adding more menu options. We need queso here, I bet they could make an amazing queso. I also wish they had a salsa specifically for chips. Their sauces/salsas are great, but only on food. Not great with chips. Overall - still great. Go eat here. Service is slower than before. Prices have gone up. Wish they had queso and a salsa for chips specifically. Wish I got a full cup of rice when I order a side of rice, considering how expensive the rice is.

They have so many different, foods, drinks, pastries, deli items, it's definitely worth exploring before or after dinner! There is free parking but the lot is not very big. You may need to park in the street (also free). Upon walking in, we were greeted by several employees! We opted to sit out on the patio, since it was a gorgeous night! After 10 minutes no one had come to the table... 15 minutes... still no one. No water, drinks or their complimentary chips. They weren't overly busy, so this didn't make sense to us. At minute 20 I got up to talk to a manger. The waitress saw me go up to the front and tried to wave me down to say "I got you." I'm sorry but 20 minutes in a restaurant that isn't packed is ridiculous. At the very least she could have brought water and said she would be with us soon, but she never acknowledged we were there. I spoke with the manager and noted that it had been 20 minutes with no one coming to our table. I told him i understood she had other tables but that we just hadn't even been acknowledged. He said "she doesn't have that many tables! Let's go!" He took our order on the spot! He brought us complimentary guacamole and horchata with our chips! That was a very nice gesture! I assured him we weren't out for freebies, we just wanted to order our food. He was very friendly and definitely took care of us! Our food came out very quickly and we were checked on multiple times. He definitely turned what was a very negative experience around! The vibes here are really great! The patio was so nice! It was well maintained and clean! The food: I got the pulpo (octopus) tacos! They had a tropical and buttery flavor to them! I opted to take the picked onion off mine but I'm sure that's tasty as well! The chips had a nice crisp and saltiness to them and the salad was one of the best complimentary ones we have tried! My boyfriend had the chicken fajitas and noted they were tasty with a solid portion. The horchata here is also pretty solid! Overall, this place is worth the try! Tip: don't get the dessert at the restaurant, grab it to go from the bodega! It's about $4-$5 cheaper!

You have an option of chips or tortillas. We asked for a sampling of the salsas. The green is mild, red is medium and they have avocado salsa which has some heat - it's not guac. We enjoyed them all. They have a great variety of choices on their menu. I went basic and ordered a chicken burrito - it's huge! You do have a variety of chicken to choose from. My Son ordered the Octopus and said it was really good and enjoyed the smoky flavor. It comes with green beans and they were good. Hubby ordered the flank steak, ordered it medium, it did come out medium rare, he didn't complain but he left a lot on the plate because of how rare it is. We usually speak up but he was full regardless. The service was great. The drinks were fun. I will definitely be back

The burrito was very hefty, for me that is almost 4 meals. Loved that some entrees came with chips and guac. The spicy sauce that came with was very spicy so be careful but so delicious. The horchata was a bit disappointing, I've had it before but forgot what it was like, it just tasted like a sweet milk. No cinnamon taste. But it was still delicious. So easy to order at the kiosk. There are only a couple tables in the gas station if you want to eat in otherwise most people just take out. Few tables were set up outside too. The gas station is filled with drinks and snacks so it's easy to browse for extras while you wait for your food. It's a literal hole in the wall inside this gas station. I only wish the hours were better, whenever we get a craving for this it's always closed so we have to take advantage when they are open. Can't wait to try their other locations.

I had so-so birria tacos (no consomme, single soft-corn tortilla) and so-so horchata (served in a sealed bag that looks like an IV pouch, actually kind of funny), along with a tasty and particularly juicy elote. My friend got the Asada Mulita and he quite enjoyed it. That seemed like a good deal for $9, and $4.90 per taco for what I got is okay. The ambiance absolutely does not rise above what you would expect from an unremarkable, utilitarian convenience store with a few tables that aren't routinely wiped down. You can order online (highly recommended) or from a screen near their covered-up window. Whenever a food place is clearly hiding its employees from its customers, I'm nervous that I will be ignored. But someone was constantly popping out and asking people what their names were, and telling them how many minutes they can expect to wait. (Waiting = standing next to the salty snacks shelves.) I see now that they have Al Pastor Chicken with Pineapple Pico and I definitely want to come back and try that. Maybe I'll raise my rating if I love it. Meanwhile, I'd recommend considering this at least for the experience, but order ahead and expect a 30-minute wait. Also note that they close at 7pm.

The tacos are street size and small. You get 2 for $7.30 per order. Other option for meat was chicken. I had some corn salsa, salsa, lettuce and sour cream on it. The meat portion was good so not skimpy. My husband had Carnitas burrito which was huge for $9.95. The reason for 4/5 is the steak was disappointing. Cut in small tiny pieces like diced onions. This made it seem tough and low quality. Also not medium rare, but medium well or well done. So I recommend not getting steak. They should have a Barbicoa or chorizo option. The chicken and cheese containers were very near empty and it looked like the food was what was leftover from their lunch. I ordered anyway and hoped it would be more warm and fresh than it looked. I ordered double chicken on both meals and only asked for extra chicken after they put the normal 2 scoops for a single serving. When they added the extra chicken they added 1 small scoop, not even close to double. The cheese: they had to scape the bottom of the metal container and could barely even get 1 scoop for each meal. I asked for more and was provided another half scoop on each meal. Ordered sour cream on the side because I wasn't sure I wanted it in my food. CHECK OUT TIME: Charged for double chicken. Charged for sour cream on the side instead of in the meal. Charged for extra cheese. The guy at the register was rude and would only remove the extra cheese charge and said next time it will be extra $$. Extra money for cheese??? My Burrito was literally nothing but chicken, rice, cheese, and salsa. Never 1 single time have I had to ask for extra cheese at other Pancheros. Maybe fill your containers so you don't have to scrape for a scoop of cheese? The WORST part: Got home (3.5 miles away) and was eating 10 minutes after walking out of Pancheros door. Both of our meals were mostly cold. The rice wasn't even warm. The chicken wasn't cold, but wasn't warm either. Both meals were like eating it after it had been sitting for at least 30 minutes. I assume the rice and chicken were just sitting around for too long in Panchero's serving containers or they didn't have their warming station set correctly. Never have I had this problem before at other Pancheros, or Chipotle, or Qdoba. I won't be back to Apple Valley Pancheros.

I'm really happy to say that things have improved since my last visit and review. That said, it's still not quite a perfect 5 out of 5 for me. First, they seem to have ditched the service fee. My understanding is that service fees are no longer allowed in Minnesota, so I was expecting them to replace it with a credit card fee. I'm happy to say there was no service fee, no credit card fee, or anything else. The price of the food is the price you pay, plus tax and tip. That is so refreshing to see in 2026 and automatically earns this restaurant an extra star from me. The food is still the best part of this restaurant. I'm sure they're sourcing ingredients from the same places as everyone else, but somehow their flavors are extraordinary. This time I got the Pollo Sonora, and I honestly don't have any complaints. It was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended. They still offer free chips and salsa, which I love because not every Mexican restaurant does that anymore (Chula's in Prior Lake, I'm looking at you). It's nice to see they still include them. This time around, though, I didn't enjoy the white sauce as much. I'm not sure if it changed or if my tastes have changed. The red salsa was fantastic, but I really wish it had been colder. It was more warm or lukewarm, which just wasn't what I was expecting or wanting. My wife got one of the weekend lunch specials for $10.99: a beef enchilada and a beef burrito. She had no complaints. I was honestly impressed that they still offer lunch specials on weekends. We also ordered the large queso appetizer for $10.99. I intentionally ordered the large because I assumed we'd have leftovers to take home. However, the "large" is really more of a medium-sized portion. I'm 6 feet tall, had just finished a workout, and hadn't eaten much that day. My wife was also very hungry. We ended up eating almost the entire thing. For $10.99, I was expecting a noticeably larger portion, so that was a little disappointing. I don't even want to know how many calories we ate just from the queso....but I still think the large should be larger for $10.99. The service also improved compared to my last visit, but I still don't think it's on the same level as many other restaurants. In my previous review, I mentioned that service was the biggest issue, and if you read other reviews, you'll notice it's a recurring theme. This time our waiter did ask if we needed drink refills, which was an improvement. However, service still felt a little slow, and at times it seemed like he was trying to avoid extra trips or additional questions. For example, when he took our drink order, he immediately started walking away. We had to quickly stop him because we also wanted to order an appetizer. At that point we were ready to order our entrées too, but since he didn't ask, we only ordered the appetizer. Later he came back and asked if we were ready to order our entrées. By then we'd eaten almost all of our chips, and he could clearly see the basket was nearly empty. Instead of asking if we'd like another basket, I had to ask for more chips. That's not a huge deal, but it's just not what I'm used to. At most Mexican restaurants, if the server notices your chips are gone, they'll usually offer another basket without being asked. I realize that's a bit nitpicky, but I mention it because it's been a recurring pattern during past visits. The bathrooms were mostly clean, the sinks are pretty cool, and the men's restroom has a baby changing station. The prices aren't amazing, but they're not terrible either. If you're looking for the cheapest Mexican food around, this probably isn't the place. But if you're looking for fantastic flavors and a nice atmosphere, it's absolutely worth trying. I would still recommend this restaurant to friends and family, and I know my wife and I will be back. We're just not rushing to return. They're so close to being a truly perfect restaurant.

They give you appetizers of chips, red salsa, and some kind of mayonnaise based dip. Beware because it'll get you gluttonous very quickly. All in all - it's what you expected for a Mexican restaurant. The food was quick, hot, and the service was kind and prompt enough to a bunch of gringos. A nitpick - the women's bathroom had 1 of 2 stalls out and seemed to need attention, hope they get that fixed. My only complaint was for two fajita platters, a nacho supreme, one tea, and one Sprite, and one bowl of guacamole and queso came to $120 after tax. Seems steep to me? (Hence four stars) At least the food didn't suck, which would I have made it sting. Try them out!
