As a part of #YelpsBigNightIn to support local businesses during COVID-19, I ordered from J&J after a wing craving hit. I ordered six wings and fries. The seasoning is very similar to Hook Fish and Chicken. A lemon pepper, a sweet and spicy combo that adds a delicious touch to both the chicken and fries. The wings were hot and crisp, and they're full size from wing to tip. The meat was fall off the bone tender. All in all, some of the best wings I've had in a long time. Can't wait to be able to visit in person. I ordered through Door Dash and the whole process was slick and really took no time at all between ordering and receiving my meal. read more

I finally tried this place, because I was craving some fried food. Well the food was hot and ready when I arrived. And the cashier was super nice and had everything for my order. In the pictures I ordered large catfish nuggets, four chicken wings both with bread and fries. Also my sides were hush puppies and Mac& Cheese balls. With ketchup and hot sauce! I usually don't like fries much, because they can get sweaty and soft, but I put them in the oven and they crisped up fine. A decent small chain restaurant serving deep fried fish and chicken (go figure). There are a few oddities for a fish and chicken place, like their macaroni bites and pretty good cheesecakes. They also have all the 1 liter soda pop choices you could imagine, you'll just have to find out for yourself what I'm talking about. Not the best place to go with families or to sit down and enjoy a meal (let's just say the owners set up their deep fryers and never really paid attention to the dining-in experience). And don't expect small talk conversation with the staff, they are willing to serve you but they pretty much keep to themselves So if you're craving deep fried salty food for a pretty cheap buck--you know you do--pick up the phone and call or stop in and take out. The place is dirty at most times but that's what makes it feel homey to me. The customers are a bit much sometimes but the staff does their best to keep their composure and give the customer exactly what they want. Wait times vary from time to time. I have never seen anyone as rude as the guy who served me at this restaurant! He seemed angry and bothered. I asked for a sauce and he said I needed to pay a $1 and gave me the nastiest look. I left and called him from my car and told him that he was rude. He actually replied to me "go and fuck yourself and I could have said that on his face" I was like wow and I said I'll write a negative review and he said "I don't give a fuck" and hang up. You need to have a little soul in your personality to understand the rating I'm giving it. A deep fried catfish filet or chicken wing with the proper seasoning is Heaven to a certain crowd and I'm in that crowd. Alright let me start by saying that I've gone here for years now. And recently since the COVID-19 situation popped off the fish I have been getting from there the past few times has been old. I tried to call them about it but all I got was attitude and they weren't trying to talk to me or have a civilized conversation without talking back or disregarding what I had to say. I'm not the only person who has had the same experience going here and I'm not intending on going there anymore and I recommend that you don't either. Their bathrooms are gross and on cleansed and they never clean anything in there. I would know this because I've been going there for years now and practically grew up in the area. It's disrespectful to the customers when they're coming to you about the food you have served them because it's old and you're going to give them attitude about it? I think somebody needs to do something about this or there need to get a health inspector in there. I'm disappointed I can't eat there because of the shitty service and now shitty food. I ordered takeout through Seamless, and the food was piping hot, so that was great. The problem was that the fish was very overdone. Like too chewy to even eat. Which was incredibly sad, because the breeding had great flavor! I just couldn't chew through the fish. I might give it another try eventually, but not any time soon. read more

My brother lived down the block for a few years and we made some late night visits. Not the cleanest place or the best area but really hits the spot late night.
