Two words: best ever! I recently celebrated my wedding week at the Moana Surfrider. We kicked off wedding week festivities with a spa day full of deluxe pampering at the Moana Lani Spa. The bridal party loved their massage treatments and each therapist customized our massages to meet our individual needs. We were then treated to an exquisite tea party complete with delicious finger sandwiches and desserts, champagne bubbles, and an absolutely beautiful cake! They also went the extra mile to make sure the cake matched my wedding colors and topped it with an edible peony (my favorite flower)! The view from the spa overlooking iconic Waikiki Beach was priceless. A huge THANK YOU to the staff who made this experience one I will never forget. We got a couples massage, and of course it was somewhat expensive, but it was well worth it. I felt valued as a customer, and so relaxed afterwards! It's difficult to go to someone you don't really know, but they did everything they could to make it cozy, from soft flip-flops and robes, a comfortable changing room with lockers, to little bottles of water. I fell asleep during my massage, so I missed some of it, but when I woke up I noticed that many of the knots I had developed from flying were GONE. read more

I really enjoyed my facial with Tiffany. She asked about my goals for the facial (relaxation and calm) and followed through with attention to using calming product, as well as more focus on gentle massage. The spa's beachfront location is awesome, and its really relaxing to be able to hear and see the ocean's waves while lounging. A couple of things could be improved upon: the cold wash cloths were so cold they were frozen together. Everything in the spa area (steam room and showers) were fragrance free, excluding eucalyptus spray in the showers, which may work for people with sensitivities but I enjoy essential oils so I missed it. It's unusual for a steam room to not have peppermint or eucalyptus piped in. There was no cold plunge, either, which doesn't make sense since we are in such a warm/hot climate. For that reason, I didn't want to spend much time in the sauna or steam room, and it left me longing for a dip in that lovely pool or ocean. Snacks were typical -fresh fruit, citrus water, tea, some nuts. (I did enjoy the chocolate mac nuts given to me by Tiffany at the end of the facial. :)) I had planned on spending a couple of hours lounging and "spa-ing" beforehand, as I have in other facilities of similar caliber, but that ended up feeling a bit drawn out due to the above reasons. In all, a beautiful spa but a few tweaks would make it 5 star for me. read more

My first time at a spa and it was a wonderful first experience from beginning to end. We did the couples massage and the room was beautiful and our masseuses were so kind. I wish I could do this more often but it is expensive, so it will probably just be a once per year treat. First time here today to celebrate our 10 years of marriage. Spa exceeded my expectation; it was nice and clean; very relaxed; amenities (relaxation room, lounge, steam room, sauna, shower and bathroom) were nice and clean. Staff were very courteous and attentive. We did 80 min facial. Maria who did my facial did an excellent job with my facial; massaging my hands and feet and shoulders. Love the view of the ocean from the jacuzzi and relaxation room. Nuts were fresh and so as the apples; didn't try the oranges. Lemon water was kept ice-cold. Our experience here was amazing. I called and made a reservation a few weeks before we came and it was super easy. It's located on the second floor of the Moana Surfrider Hotel. The check in was super easy. They provide you with a robe and sandals. Make sure to bring a swimsuit if you want to enjoy the spa. We did the heavenly Spa Signature Massage for 75 minutes for $195 each. The waiting area overlooks the beach and is beautiful and relaxing. We opted for a couples massage. For the couples massage, you need to rent the couples room, which is an additional fee ($70). It's totally worth it. It has a whirlpool bath that you can enjoy alone with your partner after the massage. You will be greeted in the waiting area before your massage, then you go into the private suite and meet your partner there. The room is huge and has spectacular views of the beach. The massage beds are so comfortable and the treatment was one of the best I've had. From the warm towels to the hot stones, it was so relaxing. The masseuses were so nice and comforting and very knowledgeable. At the end of the massage, they will leave you with the room where you can enjoy the warm bath that overlooks the beach. I have been going to Moanalani Spa for 5 years and have been part of their Kamaaina Club. I used to really enjoy coming here. Visited yesterday for a 75 minute massage and it was not a great experience. Massages have been hit or miss depending on the therapist. Treatmenr time is also shorter over the years, prices higher. The therapist I had was not great. In fact after a previous experience I asked the front desk to add a note to not assign her to me anymore. She uses mostly one hand and odd techniques that no other therapist has used. She doesnt turn on the music or ask about pressure adjustment like others have. The massage was so bad I booked another place today which was much better. The front desk didnt offer an apology or gratuity adjustment when I shared my feedback. Just a blank stare. Facilities have also gone downhill. The steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, showers and lounge area are nice and the view is great. Over the years, small amenities like snacks in the lounge, cold towels in the steam room, and basic toiletries have disappeared. Used cups and napkins remain littered throughout. So so...come for the amenities and view. read more

I would have given this a 3 if the woman that gave me my facial wasn't so amazing. They left me a voicemail the day before that my appointment was at 4:15pm but I can come earlier at 3:45pm to use their jacuzzi and sauna. I get there and just casually wait outside until it was time. A woman calls me from inside and asks me to confirm my appointment which I did. She says my appointment is actually at 7pm and the earliest I could come is 5pm bc they are currently closed. I was so confused, I even told her I had a voicemail and she just apologized and said that the earliest was 5pm. I was upset and confused so I politely said okay and walked down to concierge to confirm their hours. Google says they're open from 11-6. The concierge told me they're open only until 6pm so they gladly phoned the spa I was just outside of and another woman answered and told me to come back and they are going to take me. It was bizarre. The woman that checked me in didn't even acknowledge what just happened. Strangest thing I've ever experienced. The facial itself was amazing and I enjoyed every moment of it. Just that part made me think, wow this facial is like $300. They need to get it together on how they communicate with their customers. read more

At the end of July my two cousins came to visit & celebrate their 30th birthdays. They wanted to spa a full day and chose Moana Lani. We had the most amazing time. We got lucky and called a couple days before and were accommodated for all of the treatments we wanted. They wanted to do a full spa day to relax and unwind from all of our excursions we did. Beautiful spa! Lots of products in the check in area that you can purchase. This day spa also lets you have in and out privileges all day. You're welcome to come and go as you please. They also sell day passes to the spa if you're not getting any treatments. I thought this was great because you can freshen up before a late flight or after a long flight if you have to wait a while to check in to your hotel. They also offer a special for locals (can't remember what now b/c it's been a couple months, sry!). Amenities include a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, showers, & a beautiful relaxation room that has an ocean view of Waikiki beach and their pool/beach bar area. They provide nuts, fruits, hot tea and water. You're welcome to even bring up food/alcohol from the restaurant. I saw a lady with a glass of champagne which sounded amazing but this was towards the end of my stay. I even took a little nap in one of the chairs while I waited for the girls to get done with their treatments. Here are the treatments I had done & with whom: John- deep tissue massage. He was so great! Very professional and easy to keep a conversation with! Most of the time I like to sit, relax and not talk but I really enjoyed talking to him. When I come back I will definitely be asking for him again. He made sure the pressure was good and asked me about any spots bothering me. I always have knots in my shoulder/back area and he worked great on those. Hand and foot wax treatment was also done during this massage (extra $) this was super cool. They put your feet and hands into a paraffin wax bag thing and it's warm to the touch and slowly hardens. It was a neat experience and made my hands/feet super soft afterward. Teresa- customizable facial. This is the first time I have ever had a facial and it was absolutely amazing!!!! I need to do these more often I can't believe what I have been missing out on!!! They give you this little shot of collagen at the end and it was delicious. I'm pretty sure you can buy it in the spa as well after. I was so relaxed I can't wait to come back. I want to try this Hydrofacial that they offer too which I believe sucks out all of the dirt/blackheads from your pores. Also helps with wrinkles/lines etc. not too sure but it sounds great. A woman in the elevator (employee of some sort) who was showing us where the spa was told us that they have one of these hydro facial machines and seemed really excited to try it herself. Gilda- mud body wrap. Super interesting as I've never had this before either. First she exfoliates the skin and then she covers your body with this volcanic mud. After, she wraps you up and while you wait for everything to settle in you get a nice scalp treatment/massage (my fave part). After it's settled you jump in the shower for a rinse and then she rubs this amazing lotion on your skin. Everything was so incredibly smooth afterwards!!! Not sure all the technical terms for everything and what exactly it's supposed to do (I forgot what she told me) but it was worth it!! **Just a tip you are fully nude during this treatment. Some people may be more modest about that then others (I don't care at all), however Gilda made me feel really comfortable and we held good conversation. Everyone from the time we checked in to the time we checked out was professional and friendly. My husband and I booked a couples massage this past weekend here. We were able to come use the amenities thirty minutes before hand. The areas are separated male and female. It was beautiful and clean. From the sitting area and the jacuzzi, you over look the beach and ocean. I used the dry sauna and steam room. Both were amazing. Showers are available as well. The massages were perfect. It's so relaxing to hear the ocean while being pampered. We spent the extra money for the in room jacuzzi. It's worth it! We loved it because it gave us time to spend together. I know other reviewers didn't feel it necessary since each men's and women's area already has a jacuzzi. But it was nice to be able to be in the jacuzzi together while watching the ocean and enjoying a glass of champagne. We have no complaints. The facility itself is clean, peaceful, and scenic. The staff was friendly and professional. We would go back here and I recommend it to others who are looking for a luxury spa experience. read more

The service I had was exceptional. The facility needs some major updating and it is not clean. the shower had a ball of someones hair in it so I moved into the next shower and it was just as dirty. I must have gotten there on a bad day... maybe they were to busy to have their cleaning staff sweep through the showers? I hope? I want to hope they actually clean their showers? The relaxation room that overlooks the beach and down below had some mixed nuts in a glass jar, tea bag option and water was just kind of all scrunched together on a skinny table. It was dissatisfying to look at. When you walk into the front of Moana Lani Spa, the retail area is great and filled with products to buy! But when you turn the corner and into the facility you can use for several hours after your treatment, it is just a sight for sore eyes. The couch areas and seating in the relaxation room was definitely FAR from clean. So gross if you ask me. Nothing is clean in this facility. Best advice, get in and get out. Nothing WOW or relaxing about this day spas facility to relax in. The hot tub too was a couple steps up and overlooks the bar under the big tree and pool area. But nothing special. This place needs a make over and friendlier staff back there too. The staff back there act like security guards instead of friendly staff that make you feel welcomed. If you're looking for a tranquil, oceanfront spa experience with aloha, look no further. From the moment I checked in, I felt pampered. The service is great - tip: there isn't an option to have food in the relaxation area so take advantage of the in/out privileges to enjoy lunch downstairs or one of the other spots nearby. I loved how clean and well-maintained the relaxation and spa areas were. Since I was having a nail service, I came in early to enjoy the hot tub and dry sauna. For my treatment, I enjoyed a gel mani + Lomi Lomi pedi with Teresa. Not only did she have great attention to detail with my nails and made sure I was comfortable with a warm neck pillow, she also had great tips for great Thai food when I mentioned my hubby and I had yet to find solid Thai food on the island. Sometimes I find that technicians can be overly chatty and then I leave without feeling that relaxed - totally not the case here with Teresa. I appreciated how Teresa was friendly yet was respectful of my relaxation time. One thing that could have taken the experience over the top would be an eye mask with a relaxing scent like lavender to cover my eyes while I was in the pedicure chair (which by the way is super comfy). Totally not a deal breaker - more of a suggestion to complement the warm neck pillow I was offered. Just had a prenatal massage with Gilda, and wow, best massage I've ever had. I've had three prenatal massages during this pregnancy, all at high end spas, and this was by far the best. They provide a pregnancy pillow for your belly that allows you to lie face-down, and then flip to your back because the massage table tilts upward on the back and upward on the knees. So incredibly comfortable I'm about to try to get myself one of those pillows for home. Gilda was an excellent masseuse, she found all my tight spots and worked them out using a perfect amount of pressure. My husband had a facial (which was also excellent) so we booked the couples room with the coconut milk bath afterward and I highly recommend doing that if you have the option. The couples suite is huge and oceanfront with views, a breeze, the sound of the waves, and an enormous ocean view bath tub with two glasses of champagne (or sparkling cider) and cookies. Had the deluxe hydra facial with Jan today. LOVED IT! It was one of the best facials I've ever had. Jan was attentive, took the time to learn about my concerns, and also worked with me to customize the experience. My skin feels amazing! Jan gave me directions for after care as well recommendations for my skin care regimen. She also gave me a wonderful arm, neck and hand massage. Once the facial was finished, Jan gave me a "collagen shot" and some delicious chocolate and fruit infused water. After the facial, I was taken back to the relaxation room. The room looks out over the beach and you're even able to go out on the lanai for fresh air. There's a jacuzzi (bring a swimsuit), sauna, and steam room as well as showers and dressing rooms. I finally decided to "take the plunge" at the Moana Lani Spa, which is in the historic Moana Hotel in Waikiki. It was my first time to that spa and now I understand why so many people rave about it. The staff was terrific and so warm and welcoming. I had a deep tissue massage, which got out a lot of "knots and ropes" and tension. Gilda and Tom were very professional. One of the best things is the relaxation room with glorious views of Waikiki Beach . . . and the whirlpool spa, which has huge open-air windows that overlook Diamond Head (don't forget your bathing suit for the whirlpool). You can hang out for hours and "chillax." Men and women are in separate sides, but you can book a couples experience for a bit more $. Best day spa I've been to on the island so far! They have lockers to put your stuff and you're given slippers and a robe to walk around in. Men's and women's common areas are separate but you can reserve a private room that overlooks the beach. There's a relaxing dry and wet sauna room. I was pretty disappointed that the jacuzzi was broken when I went. I got to enjoy a bottle of champagne and an assortment of cheese, meats, and fruits. The Heavenly Massage was absolutely perfect, the massage therapist was very strong and attentive to my needs. Will definitely be back again! read more

It's getting worse and worse .I think they have have bad management .Never any towels available u have to walk around naked and can't dry and go home Bcs there is never any clean towels , no hot water to make tea at the tea station . I brought this up with a manager once already and nothing changed on top of that the front desk told me they had a leak in a room and the spa attendant had to help them and not the spa it's always something .Always excuses . Visiting Waikiki can be a chaotic experience, traffic parking, so much people right! But once you step into Moana Lani Spa, you are awakened with a sense of relaxation immediately. I was given a gift from my family to spoil my self and they sure did that for me. Tina greeted me with a smile and informed me of the services I was was receiving. She completely catered to me, and it made me feel special from the start. Tina also closed out my day educating me on all the products the spa had to offer. She had a sense of pride in her space and never at all was pushy. I started with a 80 minute Hydra Facial from Maria. Outstanding! Don't get the shorter ones, the 80 is loaded with extras. I got a facial mask for my skin type, a dermabuilder add on that works on my wrinkles, LED lighting and an amazing neck and shoulder massage. I was then led to the relaxation area and Teresa picked me up to continue with a Lomi pedicure. Amazing zero gravity chairs that left my back so relaxed. The pedicure used top of the line products from Pure Fiji. But Teresa, her expertise and care was so gentle and comforting. You know pedicures can hurt sometimes, never felt anything. After my pedicure I took a 30 minute break which I recommend, it really stretched out my relaxing vibe as I peered out at the ocean. Yes ocean! Directly in front! And you hear it and feel the air! Truly majestic. Jan picked me up and walked me back to the salon. She is so educated in her field, we sat consulting for a bit on what I wanted done and how she would achieve it. She graciously recommended to add a Hair treatment that would repair my damage. I so appreciated that. She completed my hair with a beautiful blowout, color and treatment. I walked out like a million bucks. If you want a spa with experienced technicians in beauty. Go there! Bring your friends as I witnessed that as well. A space like no other. read more

As a SPA: It was just- nice. But that's kind of it. It's not a wow-your-socks-off place. It's not a shabby dump. It will certainly burn a hole through your wallet. The spa amenities were fairly standard for anyplace that wants to call itself a spa: lounge, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, showers and lockers. SERIOUSLY: This location is too small. Everything is overcrowded. There is one tiny jacuzzi. Pretty much as soon as two people are in it, it starts to feel more like a tub. There are only 6 of those lounging cars to relax in. The facility isn't very relaxing if can't even find a place to relax, right? My MASSAGE THERAPIST: IVAN. He was worth the $200. I booked an 80 minute deep tissue massage. He was so strong, he delivered what I was expecting. He also actually listened to my needs and fit my massage to meet them. My facial: 50 minute glow facial. In all honesty, this was my first facial ever. It wasn't bad. But I hardly remember any "wow" moments. I have nothing to complain about, but for $145--I would not do it again. read more

What you can't see in any of the pictures posted is that the views from the jacuzzi and I believe from the relaxation room as well are of the ocean. The spa is impeccably designed and the lighting is purrrfect! The place is like stepping into a world I dreamed of, but never thought I'd get to...nirvana, baby, nirvana. The staff is pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Once I was massaged by Tracy, and I almost asked for her hand in marriage, but I knew she deserved better. Tracy is a professional, but if I were a rich dude, I would tell her she never had to work another day in her life, and would treat her PROPER - diamonds, gold, gucci, jets, vacays, love and tenderness - PROPER, as long as she agreed to massage me like once a week. Anyway, someone complained about the snacks, which I think is silly. Some of these spas like Bliss offer cookies and brownies, but who wants to be feeling like a bloated blimp at the spa? They have what a spa should have - tea, fruit, water...you want dessert? Take your butt to the Cheesecake Factory down the street. You won't regret going to this place. LOVE IT! Booked a deep tissue massage which was absolutely amazing- if that wasn't good enough- the spa amenities were quite invigorating. The time flies by when you're in the amazing relaxation room just over the beach and pool. Loved sipping tea in my robe and slippers listening to the waves and reading a magazine. Rainfall shower heads, steam room infused with herbals, and sauna were my favorite. I went in to the spa a day ahead to make my appointment and the staff were so very helpful and nice. Even gave me a coupon and kept reminding me I had use of the spa facilities for the full day of my service (8am-8pm). \ After my massage and spending the morning and early afternoon there, I decided to go. We had one of their Moana Escape Package, the "Moe'uhane dream" which consisted of a 50 minute heavenly classic massage and a 50 minute custom organic glow facial experience. $225 per person, before taxes, and by the way since we are on the subject of money, note that they automatically add a Service Charge into their fee and if you want to be in the "couple suite" they charge an additional $55 fee, the good part??... Valet parking is free... well if you like, you might want to tip the guy's a few bucks! I had the deep tissue massage, I enjoy it! however, I like lots of pressure, so make sure to ask for someone who can apply a lot of pressure if that is what you like. My masseuse was friendly and made me feel comfortable. So no complains there. The facial was one of the most relaxing facials I've ever had! The combination of scents used along with the facial massage was... How shall I put it??.... HEAVENLY! Yes HEAVENLY! So after the massage and facial, I figured we were done. NOT, we were lead into a public area (woman's side) where there was teas, fruits and lounge chairs overlooking the ocean! The prefect spot to just sit and read a good book or to write in a journal! We were told we could stay for the rest of the day if we wanted! THE END RIGHT? Wait I'm not done yet! One of the better spas I've been to. The whirlpool is large and the relaxation rooms overlook the beach. Also, the massage I had with Patti was probably the best massage I've ever had. She's masterful at combining both relaxation and therapeutic techniques. As for the cons, the spa did not provide toothbrushes. Also, the treats weren't that great - i.e., no truffles, chocolate covered fruits, etc. Further, the locker room is kind of in the open and not for the faint of heart. I did some research on yelp before selecting this spa which had good reviews. I am also a male so will be reviewing based on the men's side of the house. I opted for the 80 minute deep tissue massage. Arrived 20 minutes early and was promptly greeted and taken back to the men's section. My girlfriend wanted to get a facial so we skipped out on the couples room for an extra $45 and decided to do separate rooms based on other reviews. Men's side... There are two relaxing rooms, one that overlooks the ocean, a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. There are also showers, bathrooms, etc. I was the only guy in there and had the place to myself. All of the amenities are very nice and I took advantage of the steam room and jacuzzi. Massage... My massage therapist was Patty and at beginning of the session she asked if I was looking for a relaxing massage or to work on my problem areas. I prefer massages that actually work out the kinks which typically involves a little pain so once that was set she began. The massage was incredible and Patty did an awesome job working out all of my knots and even gave me some pointers on how I can work on stretching at home to keep my problem areas from getting so tight. Overall we both had a great experience. I wish they had a coed section as well so that couples can spend time relaxing together in a jacuzzi or sauna. In addition, it's worth noting that they automatically include gratuity when you checkout. I actually find this convenient, but I can see how that might be a turn off for others. read more

This guy loves to "spa." I think I was a Roman in a former life, because I love steam baths, sauna, and whirlpools ... all the "facilities" stuff at a quality spa. I purchased a day pass to Moana Lani today ... no treatment ... just using the facilities. Fantastic space. Absolutely loved it. The men's area was ultra quiet today, which was nice. Great temp in the steam room, though the lighting in there was a bit harsh and didn't go with the vibe of the rest of the place. It seemed cheap and tacky. The sauna was clean (not always the case in some spas) and also a great temp with very nice indirect lighting. The whirlpool within the men's area was situated with a fantastic view overlooking Waikiki ... stupendous! There are a couple of relaxation rooms ... one that is quite dark with no windows and one that has a balcony over the beach and big windows looking out at all the action, too. The seating was comfy and put me right to sleep when I sat down and listened to the sounds of the waves lapping at the sands of Waikiki. At $45, the day pass was one of the more pricey ones I've seen, but the location and facilities here made it well worth it. If you're getting a treatment, definitely schedule some time in to relax in this area (if it's your thing). read more

When you have time to spend, this is probably the best spa on Oahu for me! Get the full experience of 4 hour parking validation or get dropped off so you can stay there entire day/evening, gym, sauna, whirlpool and that sitting room where you are actually on a lounge chair/bed looking at the beach, showers and excellent massage.....many of the hotel spas don't have the best massages, in my opinion, but this one does. Here's my perfect sequence....use the facility for the entire day....arrive in the morning and use the facility - gym, shower, whirlpool, wet and dri sauna, change and go shopping/eat lunch at international marketplace, go back and whirlpool, wet and dri sauna then shower/wash hair, then massage and rest in the lounge chair. actually a great deal for all of that in 1 day! read more

Came here on a whim on a weekend--and absolutely loved it! OK, OK, so I haven't been to a spa before. This was the first spa I've ever been to, so call me biased, but I thought it was amazing! From the moment we set foot from the hotel, going up the escalators, and stepping into the spa--I definitely felt swanky and luxurious. Fortunately, they do welcome walk ins, but if you would like to get one of the packages---then I would definitely advise you call in advance to make an appointment. I wanted to get a facial + massage, but timing made it impossible so I just settled for a massage that day. The facilities are squeaky clean and SO relaxing, I don't even know how. Seriously, I'm one of the most on the go, must do a million things at once, type of girls so I really didn't know how I would fare in the relaxation room. But just sitting beachfront, decked out in a robe with a magazine in front of me.. I wish I could have stayed there all day! The relaxation room also boasted little treats--cold water, iced tea, hot tea, snacks and fruit. My only complaint is that I wish the fruits were cut. I didn't want to reach for them because I didn't want to get the pristine robe dirty when peeling an orange, but hey, I'm nit picking here. I got the Heavenly Spa Signature Massage. Jessica definitely has the magic touch! I was a little antsy at first, since I hadn't ever gotten a massage by a stranger before. However, Jessica was a total professional and immediately made me feel at ease. The massage was great, and I felt totally relaxed. She focused on my trouble spots without me having to mention them, and I felt 10x better after the massage. I wish I could have one of those rain shower heads in my house. I never thought a public shower could be so.. therapeutic! I avoid the dry sauna since I've tried them before and wasn't too huge of a fan, but did try the wet sauna for the first time. I am a total fan! Luckilly the day I went wasn't too crowded so I was able to chill there by myself and sweat up a storm. If you're looking to unwind... do it at this spa. The technicians here are so attentive, the facilities are fantastic, and the atmosphere is top notch. Can't wait until next time! read more

If you're looking for a truly amazing massage, ask for Patty. She's a local and uses some old family techniques to rid your body of its ailments. My first visit was last August (2013) after moving my daughter from CA to LEHUA Hall for her 1st year at UH Manoa. Needless to say, it was stressful. Patty asked some basic questions about my recent activities, my workouts, and my work life. She did a quick assessment and said, "I can tell you exactly what's wrong. And the good news is I can fix it in 5 minutes." She did just that. I was amazed. So much so, that when i returned this summer, I called the spa and asked for her. Another successful massage ... and this time, I stayed a while to use the steam room, sauna, and shower. Delightful. read more

Although it was a bit on the expensive side, I enjoyed my massage and especially loved just hanging out at the spa and enjoying the view of the beach. Given the pricing, I'd probably not return for any services (I'd say you can get the same services at the same or better quality for about 40-60% the cost of Moana Lani), but might come back and purchase a day pass. I opted for the 75 minute "Heavenly Spa Signature Massage," which was nice, but not the best massage I've ever had. There was a lot more focus on head and shoulders than I expected for a full body massage, and since I was sore from outdoor activities, I wish she spent more time on my legs. The men's lounge was really the highlight for me. Access to the lounge comes with services, but you can also just buy a day pass for $45 (which I think is what I would do next time around). There are three multi-head shower stalls, a steam sauna, a dry sauna, a jacuzzi, and relaxation area with a TV and some tea and water, and a second relaxation area with windows and a nice open balcony overlooking the beach. I spent a lot of time just enjoying the facilities and relaxing, soaking up the beautiful view. I didn't bring a swimsuit, so I passed on the jacuzzi, so as not to flash all the people eating brunch at Duke's. It was an incredible way to spent a couple of hours just enjoying doing nothing. As you would expect for a beautiful, high-end spa inside a nice resort hotel on Waikiki beach, services are very pricey here. Just because you expect it doesn't make it any easier on your wallet! With the 30% (!!!) service charge automatically included in your services, you're looking at some pretty steep costs. read more

What a beautiful spa with the most beautiful view of the ocean! I had a lovely Lomi Lomi massage here while visiting Oahu. My therapist was extremely knowledgeable and talented. I thoroughly enjoyed my service. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because the spa was not as clean as I would have expected it to be and apparently this was because they were short staffed during the strike that was going on at the time. Planned a bachelorette spa-rty for a group of eight here and enjoyed working with them. I appreciated being able to do most of the coordination via email since we were working to book a larger group. They were even nice enough to comp the group a round of champagne for the occasion. The whirlpool area is a little small, but we had to stagger our treatments anyway so it worked out well. Typical steam room and sauna as well as shower facilities, which most of the spa facilities in town don't have. We enjoyed lounging and the spa water, teas, fruit, and trail mix snacks they offered. The spa has an oceanfront view as well so you can hear the ocean but it's not too loud from the people below. I had the hot stone massage, which I enjoyed. A little pricey at $150 for 45 minutes, but we also got access to their wellness program ($20 for two years) and that gives a 30 percent discount on treatments. You can also order food from either the hotel's room service menu or a smaller spa menu. This is where we kind of ran into issues, but it was lunchtime and a hotel in Waikiki so it wasn't entirely surprising. The food came room temperature and it took them forever to coordinate the extra drinks we ordered for lunch. I had their take on a lobster BLT which was $22 -- it had a good amount of lobster but the bread choice is terrible since there's a good amount of liquid that comes off the sandwich and the bread just can't hold up. The spa gives in-and-out access all day until 10pm at night when you book a treatment which is nice. They also have smaller "ala carte" 25 minute treatments that you can mix and match or just book a short massage/facial/scrub and then hang out in the spa. They validate for valet or self parking is across the street. We had a good time and will probably be back in smaller groups to take advantage of the wellness program discount. read more
