This business refuses to accept cash. I was almost out of gas and did not have enough fuel to make it home. I tried to buy $20 worth of gas in cash so I could get home safely, but they refused to take my money and turned me away. Not only is this business practice illegal in Massachusetts (not accepting cash as payment) but it says a lot about the character of the people that work there who refused to help a motorist in distress (me) and would rather see me break down on the side of the road than accept a simple cash payment for a small amount of gas. Perhaps this helps their towing business, idk? So please, do everyone a favor and use Cumberland Farms (directly across the street from Concord Mobil) who had no problem whatsoever allowing me to pay cash for the gas that I needed to get home safely. read more

We've used Concord Mobile for car inspection for a few years and had no issues until now. I brought my car by for inspection as usual, left my keys and phone #, and went to Starbucks for coffee. About a half hour later they call to say it's ready. I take out my $35 cash to cover the normal charge and get hit with over $50. What??!! Some guy with a heavy accent insists he "did me a favor" and "changed a bulb" while calling me "my friend, my friend". Really? $15 for a $.50 bulb and not even a text message to ask for approval? When I told the guy that I have a glovebox full of LED bulbs and can easily do it myself, he threatened to fail the car and force me to redo the inspection. Dishonest owner. Went in because I had a eps light on they canceled the code and said it a headlight??? It came back on so I went back and they did the headlight again. It came back on yesterday so I said enough is enough and took it to my dealership. This is the list of what was wrong Oil leak Suspension issue Egnition coil broken Spark plugs broken Electrode m Turbo fault which is pretty much a big deal Circumtine belt torn up I don't see how they missed all this. Fair,knowledgeable and honest. If they can't do it they will let you know. Concord can be a tough town to do business in but if you talk to the owner Charlie or Mechanic Bill they will check out your problem and give you a fair time frame and price. I've had them do both minor and major repairs to my truck and car I have to say I've been nothing but pleased. Take the time to explain what you think you need done and they will look your vehicle over and let you know the cost and time frame so you can decide before they do the work. I have to disagree with Ezra G... although they should have asked you about the bulb, if your license plate can't be seen then they can't in fact pass you on your inspection, and they probably assumed you'd be ok with it since it was only a $10 repair. Hopefully they remember to ask the next person. I go here for all my inspections and for a lot of repairs-- the guy who owns the place, Charlie, is great. It might be because by this point he knows my family, but he is always very accommodating, helpful, and ethical, if a bit brusque. I knocked a star off for that and because the gas prices are high, but if you go to Charlie's other gas station out down Elm street towards the rotary, they have the best gas prices in town. read more

Saïd, Billy, and Charlie (the owner) are all very professional and I fully trust their ethics. I randomly started going there after trying other mechanics in the area and I've since entrusted my cars to them for many years. I have always been pleased with their turnaround, expertise, and even their prices are honest. PS: Ezra, if you have a broken license plate bulb, they have to fail your inspection! That's the law. So if you don't want them to replace your license plate bulb, they would have to give you a failed inspection sticker and then you could go and purchase one yourself, replace it and come back to get reinspected. Is that worth it to save, at most, a few dollars doing it yourself? Knowing this place, I'm very confident when I say that I don't believe they were trying to pull a quick one on you to make an amazing $10 extra dollars. I usually wouldn't review a gas station, but I had a bad experience there when I tried to get my inspection sticker. Two reasons: 1) The cashier with a Russian accent got short with me for no reason (I think I was interrupting her TV show) 2) They charged me $10 for replacing a licence plate bulb without telling me they were going to do any work (when I questioned it, she threatened to fail me on my inspection). I offered to give my phone number originally, and the cashier said they don't take phone numbers. read more

Terrible experience trying to get an inspection sticker. Waited 10 minutes for the guy to get finished with last inspection. When he's done, he disappears into the back room. When I was able to get the surly attendant (again, a Russian accent I think, but a tall man) to find him, he said, "he has other problems. He'll be with you maybe 10, maybe 30 minutes, I don't know. Wait if you want to." Turns out, he was on a personal phone call. I was supposed to just stand there and wait for him. When I questioned the first guy, he changed his story, he said something about they only do inspections every 15 minutes, the last one didn't take 15 minutes, so they had to wait until the 15 minutes was up. Whaa? I don't even ... so I left. Never, ever, again. To sum up: If you run out of gas in front of this place, push your car to the next station. DON'T GO HERE. read more

My wife has been going to these guys for years and was very happy with the. Then I bought a used, 2013 Lexus 300H a couple of years ago. Maintenance was covered for 2 yrs with the purchase. I then had a problem with the driver side headlight recently - the dealer told me it was going to cost $1600 to fix. I just couldn't believe that was it, so with my wife's suggestion, I came to these guys. Not only did I get a strong sense of just good people running a good, honest business, but they were able to fit me in their schedule the next day, replaced it and came in at less than 1/3 of the cost. Just got a customer for life! And it's not just about the pricing- I have a reasonable sense of people and these guys are the kind of people you want to support. They will do the right thing, make a reasonable profit and be there to help you when you need it. I really respect this having been in business for myself for a number of years. Good conscientious service. We have been taking our cars to Charlie for years; we feel we get solid work at a good price. Last time I was in for an oil change, the tech explained to me that they could use regular oil for a "regular" price, or use a synthetic oil for roughly double the price, but with the benefit of double the interval before the next change. I noticed some folks had complained that the oil change was too pricey and so it seems they've responded to that and try to inform the consumer of the choices. read more

I took my car in on a Saturday morning for an inspection. They were able to take my car almost immediately. They called within the 15 minute window they had given me. They were quick and efficient and best of all they were extremely professional, courteous and polite. As I was leaving another customer had come in and she said to me 'aren't they great". I brought in my car to have the brakes replaced. The windshield was cracked while it was in the shop. When I pointed that out they told me to call my insurance company to find out if it is covered, and if not I should call them back to resolve the issue. The windshield was not covered. When I did call back the person then refused to acknowledge that the car was damaged in their care and they would not do anything to help pay for the repair. (The person I spoke to was also very rude.) read more

I have been taking my vehicles to Concord Mobil for the last 15 years for maintenance and repair. The last 8 years we moved out of town, yet we won't hesitate to drive the extra mileage to have Concord Mobil work on our cars. Reliable estimates, fair pricing and they always deliver when promised. I never had a problem with the service. There have been numerous occasions that another (closer to home) mechanic would estimate a job, and Concord Mobil would tell me some work wasn't necessary. My last visit was an electrical problem, a different mechanic suggested to replace the battery cable harness (est. $500). Concord Mobil fixed the problem for less than $30. Some past repairs were much more expensive, however I had confidence major work would get done right. My cars run like a dream with a combined 425,000 miles on them thanks to Concord Mobil. read more

I arrived at the shop for an inspection at 11:30 and didn't leave until 4:15pm. They needed to replace my front tires for me to pass, but assured me they could order them easily. At 1:30pm the tires hadn't arrived and they blamed the snow (flurries) and I was told that they were "on their way." I went to get a coffee and returned at 2pm and asked again about time frame and was told it would be another hour. At 3pm they called their supplier again (at my request) and it sounded as though, from their conversation, with the supplier, that they had known it was going to take hours for delivery but didn't want to lose my business. On top of this, I felt like they had forgotten I was there multiple times, for instance when I returned from getting coffee they had forgotten which car was mine and what it needed, but had paid careful attention to the requests of every other customer who all typically waited less than an hour, even those needing tires since the tire supplier arrived around 1pm with someone else's parts. I missed nearly 5 hours of work and was given vague answers about timeline so they wouldn't lose the sale. It was very hard to hand over $300 for 2 tire replacements and an inspection after being treated like a potential sale placed on the back burner and nothing more. read more
