We had to go to the Apple Store they had a line waiting for assistance. I don't like malls... and the Apple Store was great... just busy !

Quick service and not ridiculously overpriced. We've gone back three times now either for phones or iPad screens.

They should have called me hours ago to tell me the phone repair will be $196 more than what we agreed at his store/home office, but they waited until late night. I felt what they wanted was to make he situation that I had to have it fix there tonight. Now I have to wait another day to take my phone to ubreakifix. ***Before taking your phone to this place, please make sure they give you the best price. I was hopeful that this would be a good solution for getting the sound on my iPhone 6 fixed. When…read moreI brought in my phone, he told me that he shouldn't have any trouble fixing it and took a deposit. Later, he called back and said that he was not able to fix it after all. I picked up my phone and he did not return the deposit. (I believe I lost about $30, just for letting him unsuccessfully try fixing it.) I then went to the Apple Store and they were able to fix it for about $5 more than iSmartDoctor was charging. Also, the Apple Store assured me that if they were not able to fix it, I would not have to pay anything. I have learned my lesson. From now on, I will just go to the Apple Store in the first place. ---------- I wasn't questioning if I signed something saying the deposit was non-refundable. However, I was simply pointing out that is not true at the Apple Store. Also, they were able to fix it there.

Do not take your phone to this repair shop. They are shady…read more I filed a claim to replace my screen, dropped the phone off, and when I picked it up I noticed damage to the back panel that wasn't there before. The shop told me to come back the next day and talk to the manager, which I did. He said they'd order the replacement part and fix the damage at no cost to me. A week went by with no call, so I followed up myself. I was told the part had arrived and the repair would only take a few minutes. Ten minutes later, the manager called and said I'd actually need to file a claim through my insurance -- but assured me it wouldn't cost anything and wouldn't count against my annual claim limit. When I called my insurance company, they told me the shop had already closed out the claim, and my only option now is a refurbished replacement phone. I'm still making monthly payments on my original, brand-new phone -- and will continue to for the life of the loan -- for a device that's about to be swapped out for a used, refurbished one with an unknown history. This is a clearly shady tactic. The shop damaged my phone, then maneuvered the claim process so they walked away with zero responsibility, and I'm the one stuck paying full price for a "new" phone I no longer have. To make matters worse, my insurance company was just as bad. Instead of acknowledging that this whole situation was caused by the shop's mistake, the rep basically told me I should consider myself lucky I'm not on the hook for the full deductible. Lucky? I'm losing a brand-new phone I'm still paying for and getting a used, refurbished one in return, through no fault of my own, and I'm supposed to feel grateful I'm not also paying extra for the privilege. I also want to note that the techs I dealt with were genuinely nice and professional. My real issue is with the manager, who handled this dishonestly and made me feel like the damage and the resulting hassle were somehow my fault -- like I was the inconvenience, instead of the customer dealing with the consequences of their mistake. Needless to say, I'll be shopping for a new insurance provider and crossing UBreakIFix off my list for good. If there's one thing I hope others take from this, it's to actually check reviews and shop around before trusting either a repair shop or an insurance provider with your device.
