Getting the MRI done and depending on where on your body you're getting it done, you'll either stay in your clothes or you'll have to change into this huge robe. I recommend bringing someone with you because you're gonna have to leave your stuff somewhere and they don't have a locker either. The radiologist will give you a set of ear plugs that you're gonna need since the machine is really loud which is nice. You'll still hear the machine though. It didn't take too long getting the MRI done and it didn't take so long to wait for them to see you. They'll give you a CD but you'll still have to wait a few days for the report. To find this place, you're going to have to enter the parking lot and walk in through the glass doors. You'll see Shyn's Pharmacy on the right and you'll immediately see the EZ diagnostic center on the left. It's best to park in the lot so you don't have to pay for any parking fees.

We arrived at ABC Laboratories, signed in, and gave our identification and insurance info. Within minutes, we were given back our cards and headed to a chair to sit and get labs drawn. We were actually the only patients there. The woman doing my mother-in-laws labs got it done on the first poke. She was patient with my mother-in-law as she removed her jacket. I always look for a name tag but did not see the woman's name.

After arriving at the closest one I was informed that they cannot perform an antibody test because their tests had all expired. So I called the next location as was initially misinformed because no matter what you ask for they presume you mean antigen test. But after asking that they verify they have the antibody test I was told they don't. I'm giving them a low score for being so careless both in neglecting to read my initial message carefully, for having misinformation or out of date information on their site, and for being misleading on the phone. None of that is or should be tolerable in the health industry.

My primary doctor then referred me to the breast imaging center at MICSC and they fit me in promptly. Everyone I interacted with was very kind to me and made me feel comfortable. After the initial mammogram Dr. Iyengar was very frank with me that I need to come back immediately for a biopsy - so the center got me on the schedule for another appointment within 48 hours, and they rushed the results so I would know before the weekend. Again everyone was kind to me, and even matched my energy when I was cracking jokes during what was a very tense time. The day after the biopsy Dr. Iyengar called me to let me know that I had breast cancer and that they had gotten me an appointment at Saint John's with a team of oncologists for first thing Monday morning. (Who ended up being AMAZING). Everything is a bit of a blur but I do remember Dr. Iyengar encouraging me on the phone and telling me that I could get through this. I was able to come in the next day for an MRI (Saturday) and she went ahead and reviewed the results so that my doctors would have everything they needed on Monday. Because of my age (26 at the time), my insurance was dragging their feet to approve coverage for breast cancer screenings, so I did have to pay up front for my imaging (a sliding scale payment plan was offered to me - so there are options if needed). Once insurance approved coverage, it was a quick and easy phone call to get my refunds quickly processed. I'll forever be thankful to Dr. Iyengar and her fabulous team for springing into action to help catch my cancer early, and setting me up with my amazing doctors.

I believe the business is owned by a very kind and sweet couple, the Keleshians. The gentleman who does this procedures is actually a physician trained in Europe so you get a first-class exam. Evidently in Europe a physician ALWAYS does these exams. He is thoroughly charming and will also explain what he is doing while he conducts the exam, and answer almost any question. They also take Covered California insurance. . HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
