Came here to fix a broken iPhone screen. I was a little put off because he quoted me $90 on the…read morephone but when I came in it became $160 which is obviously a huge difference. Also there were lots of boxes and broken computers just kind of laying around everywhere, but we were desperate and needed a quick fix. It's been a few days since getting the screen replaced and we've noticed that when next to a normal iPhone looking at the exact same images, the colors are a lot different and not as detailed. Also it's been flashing and went black for a few seconds. Really disappointed but not confident we could get a refund, or would even want further repairs from this establishment.

You ever watch the Twilight zone? Walking out of CaliPhoneya will leave you saying "wtf just…read morehappened?". I might be a little scarred... This is NOT a professional or authorized phone repair shop. This is 2 guys who rented a space and slapped a sign on the door. The inside decor was a red flag but I'm just too hopeful and optimistic and sometimes regret it later. This was one of those times. When the LCD on my iphone 5s came loose (not cracked) and digitized I wanted to take it to a good place for a quick repair. The closest place I found to Fallbrook is Vista. Normally i would go to oceanside or carlsbad but I didn't feel like driving 45 min to get my phone fixed. CaliPhoneya had 6 good reviews on google and 30 min from my house. So i crossed my fingers and said lets hope they're good. They told me they'd fix it in 45 min to an hour. i was also told that he was putting on an "original Apple LCD with a refurbished glass". I went to run some errands, came back and it was done. yey. $105 ($100 repair plus $5 plastic screen protector.) When I got home i noticed a slight yellow line across the bottom of the screen. The next morning i saw a more visible yellow line across the top of the screen (image attached). Now had I paid $30 for this new LCD, i wouldn't mind it. But since it cost me $105, I called them and they said to drop by and they'll take a look at it. After a 30 min drive, I show up and they're still closed. The man had failed to inform me that they open at 11am. When I called they told me they were running 15 min behind. Finally they open and I bring in my phone and they told me they will "play around with it" and to give them an hour or hour and a half. I had my 1 year old with me so this did not make me happy. An hour later they called my sister's phone and told her they needed a new LCD but were out of stock and it would take a few days to get one. At that point I just wanted my phone back and a refund so I can get it fixed elsewhere the same day. My sister went in to pick up my phone while I stayed in the car with my son. The man inside did not ask for ID or a receipt and actually let her take my phone. I think I was the only business they've had in days because when she said shes there to pick up her sister's phone he immediately brought my phone to her. The 2nd screen he put on was not the one he had replaced it with the first time, nor was it the original screen I came in with. This one had cracks and debris and glue stain under the glass. He also put a "brand new screen protector" on top of this cracked screen which also had air bubbles and a scratch on it. My sister said it didn't look new and he got so pissed about her picking it apart, he just ripped it off the screen. She asked for a refund and for the original screen we brought in. He then went and replaced it for a third time (took 5 min) and put on a completely CRACKED screen..(image attached) She then tells him this isn't the original screen we came in with, he clearly got aggravated and replied "at least this screen works, the one she came in with didn't even work" Why did he not give me my original screen back? Because he will probably slap it on someone else's phone and charge $100 for it. I feel like my iPhone got raped and barely made it out alive. I finally went to A-Z Wireless in Carlsbad to now have it repaired the correct way, Rahim took it apart right in front of me and informed me 1. the sensor is broken, screws were missing, and there was a missing panel inside. This would now cost me an ADDITIONAL $65 to repair on top of $100 for a new LCD. He also informed me about their LCD screens being same quality as Apple but not original apple LCDs, and that no one's legally allowed to sell Apple screens besides Apple. Now if the guy at CaliPhoneya did not break my sensor, he should have been able to identify this problem and notify me about it: he did not which proved to me his lack of iphone knowledge. Rahim at A-Z wireless also informed me that the only way the yellow line appears on a screen (that first repair attempt at CaliPhoneya) is when the incorrect glue is used to glue the lcd screen to the phone, when it dries and thickens at the edges creating a pressure at the edges hence the yellow line. This is something a professional knows and can identify immediately and not need to play around with it to figure it out. Not only do they not know what they're doing, they're also egotistical about it. A good business should have the customer's satisfaction as their main goal even if that means a refund. I would go back and demand the extra $65 they cost me in repairs, but lets face it, they will deny they did anything wrong and not give me any money back. All their 1 star yelp review replies clearly all point the blame at the customer.

When my screen cracked, it was a simple line right down the middle. Called for a replacement and was told I would have to pay a 50% deposit (which I did via PayPal within 5 minutes) because they had to order the screen. I had to follow up multiple times on different days to find out the status of the screen being shipped. When the screen arrived 8 days later I took the phone in. When I got it back it was in worse condition than when I got it. 1. The screen wasn't staying in the phone, literally the edges were lifting up. Offered to put more glue on the screen and had me keep a rubber band on it (which didn't work in the long run). 2. Power button was Jacked up. I mean, seriously I had to dig my nail into the power button to turn the phone on or off. 3. Ordered me an AT&T shell when I have Sprint. 4. GPS radio no longer worked. Worked fine when I brought it in. 5. Edges of the phone were marred from them attempting to separate the body. The thing that bothered me the most is that the owner was quick to respond to texts when it came to being paid but when I text him again and said "The GPS is no longer working" I received no response. EVER. The only reason I got my screen fixed in the first place was to warranty out my phone. After having an AT&T shell instead of Sprint, I had to go to 3 different Sprint locations before someone was willing to warranty replace. Regardless of if I was going to warranty the phone or not, I want everyone who may use their service that these are the potential issues you'll run in to. The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of one is because they gave me a discount for them using an AT&T donor phone and the owner finally responded after 5 months.

I had called them a month earlier to inquire about replacing the battery in my iPhone 13 Mini. I…read morementioned I had issues with Apple due to me not remembering my Apple ID password. The gentleman on the phone said we can do a work around By putting the phone in "Repair Mode" I believed he said we could use Face ID. I was in the area and stopped in. Wayne was there and he's friendly , helpful and thorough. My phone was to the point of shutting down , not responding , getting hot. A multitude of issues. Wayne checked my battery health and it was at 73%. He explained any reading under or at 80% indicates a battery problem. The quote was $139. It was higher than other repair shops here on Yelp (using yelps project message blast function ) but the convenience factor 1 mile from home and ease of dropping it off made it totally worth it. Wayne advised it'll be done in an hour. I left the phone went home and was surprisingly notified in 40min it was done. I'm very happy with the service. Wayne did go into detail about helping me with my Apple play as it was failing. Advised it may not be the phone causing it and getting a new cord may fix it. After market cords are known to fail after a period of use. Not lasting as long as original equipment. I'm very happy with their service and repair. Very relieved as I don't want to get a big iPhone to replace my mini. My iPhone is back and running smoothly.
