I had called them a month earlier to inquire about replacing the battery in my iPhone 13 Mini. I mentioned I had issues with Apple due to me not remembering my Apple ID password. The gentleman on the phone said we can do a work around By putting the phone in "Repair Mode" I believed he said we could use Face ID. I was in the area and stopped in. Wayne was there and he's friendly , helpful and thorough. My phone was to the point of shutting down , not responding , getting hot. A multitude of issues. Wayne checked my battery health and it was at 73%. He explained any reading under or at 80% indicates a battery problem. The quote was $139. It was higher than other repair shops here on Yelp (using yelps project message blast function ) but the convenience factor 1 mile from home and ease of dropping it off made it totally worth it. Wayne advised it'll be done in an hour. I left the phone went home and was surprisingly notified in 40min it was done. I'm very happy with the service. Wayne did go into detail about helping me with my Apple play as it was failing. Advised it may not be the phone causing it and getting a new cord may fix it. After market cords are known to fail after a period of use. Not lasting as long as original equipment. I'm very happy with their service and repair. Very relieved as I don't want to get a big iPhone to replace my mini. My iPhone is back and running smoothly. read more

I brought a phone in to drop it off for an asurion claim. All they had to do was mail it back so I could get the reimbursement. I had provided the IMEI number. They would not take the phone without the serial number. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The agent would not open the phone to get the serial number out of it as the phone was non-functional. I did not have the box. They told me it was my problem and I had to call asurion.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was ridiculous since they were the asurion representative. If I had simply claimed that the phone was lost or stolen I would have had no problem because of my honesty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I then had to deal with Verizon and the asurion company myself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The agent claimed that they didn't make any money on the insurance claims. After threatening to cancel the repair, they said they'd have it in 3 days. It took 4. I have no complaints about the cost or the quality of the work done, but the service sucked. read more

I took my phone in with a cracked screen. They replaced it with an after market screen for $300 which is an outrageous price for an off brand screen.When I got the phone back the Face ID didn't work and the battery wouldn't hold a charge. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked for a refund for the screen they said the Face ID and the battery wasn't because of the new screen and they wouldn't give a refund.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So I paid these guys $300 for a repair that broke my phone and then had to pay for a new phone anyway. I originally took my laptop to the uBreakiFix in Del Mar after cracking my screen. They fixed it, but it took a full week. Three months later, a crack appeared again and my screen went completely black. When I brought it back, they told me I'd have to pay the full price again because they assumed I must have cracked it myself. Needless to say, I wasn't happy with the service. That's when I decided to try the uBreakiFix in Encinitas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Even though they aren't affiliated with the Del Mar location, Aaron went above and beyond to help me out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He offered me a discount, explained everything clearly, and had my laptop fixed within 24 hours! Do not get your iPhone repaired here. Their display "fix" never worked properly. After one week, the display got a small chip because of their cheap material used. They refuse to fix the unrelated screen dimming and display malfunctioning under the guise of physical damage voiding the warranty. They are scammers. Go get your OEM repair done. In the end, WeFix was able to help me with an unusual problem - the screen on my S10 had failed and I needed to get my phone data transferred over to a newer Samsung Galaxy. It was a frustrating and overall unsatisfying experience, so I'm highlighting what I would do differently as a customer to avoid the same issues.   The biggest issue was that there were holes in communication between the team members. I was offered 2 options for the ultimate solution (1. fix the original phone AND transfer the data to the new phone vs 2. just transfer the data, and the old phone remains toast).  The price that I was initially quoted when I first asked for help (thurs) changed when I came back the next day (fri) to drop off both phones and approve of the work (red flag, in hindsight).  It would be pricey either way but I decided to go with option 1 as I still have some use for the old phone.  I called the next day (sat) to see if the phone was ready and they told me they were finishing up dismantling the first phone that I was supposed to receive repaired.  I told them that was not the plan I agreed to and they said OK then the phones are ready to pick up. Then I came in, and the owner refused to honor the price that I had agreed to pay for the work. He is a slick talker and made me feel like he was helping me out, but in the end, I paid 25% more than the "out the door" quote I had agreed to.  He kept blaming his employee and saying he would talk to him, but that doesn't help the customer.   What would help is to sign an agreement prior to having the work done, like when you take your car to the mechanic.  Later, he called and talked me into going back to plan 2 - where my first phone was again restored to its non-functional condition for a partial refund. The refund wasn't as much as I felt was fair, but it was a compromise, and I agreed to it. Later, I realized data from my signal messaging app, and others hadn't been transferred, but by then it was too late to recover that without the old phone being functional. I can only blame myself for this oversight, but in case you're reading this and you're like me - not technologically savvy - if you have important data on apps you should mention it before they do the transfer. Another really frustrating thing was that I took the phones to the T-Mobile store to get the new phone activated and found out that WeFix had not replaced the sim tray with the sim card and the memory chip into the old phone.  This caused me significant distress and hassle, but luckily I was eventually able to recover the SIM card. There were more things that sucked, but hopefully those were just flukes.  I just mainly wanted to warn customers to get your price quote in writing before giving your tech to this place, make sure you specifically ask that Signal or similar messaging data be transferred, and make sure your SIM card is in your phone before you leave. read more

I have an older MacBook Air laptop. The system had totally crashed and it ended up needing to have the Hard Drive replaced. I received excellent support from Aaron at the Encinitas location, throughout the whole process. My computer had to be sent to a specialist for diagnosis and repair. What impressed me about Aaron was that he stayed in touch with me every bit of the way. If he said he was going to call me with an update, he'd did......even if it was 8:00 on a Saturday night.
