The owner came to the dunkin to find me and started yelling and cursing at me that I can't park at the gas station when I had stepped away to pickup my dunkin order for less than 4 minutes. I was going to fill up gas when I came back to my car but due to his attitude they have lost my business. He claimed I was parked there for 20 minutes and started cursing at me and calling me names that I was making him lose business by parking there when all the other pumps where empty and there was no business being prevented. Beware, this place is very shady. Stay Away!!! I took my car here for a NY state inspection and they tried to rip me every way they thought possible. Little did they know, I actually know a thing or two about cars. First off, they stated that I needed new brake pads even though mines were less then 2 months old and had less the 1,000 miles on them. When I argued for them to show me the current status of my brake pads they refused to let me in to the garage area. Secondly, they tried push me into purchasing their line of windshield wipers ($40), stating that mines were not sufficient enough to clear rain while on the road. After exchanging words for 15 mins with the manager, I decided to purchase their windshield wipers with the condition that it can out perform mines. Their was clearly no difference when the mechanic did the comparison test with me in the car. Lastly, they took out one of my license plate lights and tried to get me to buy one from them for $10 bucks. Luckily, I had one in the glove compartment so I didn't have to buy one. I ended up getting out with just a passed NY state inspection charge, but not without a good amount of arguing. All I can say is "stay away from this place" read more

They don't worth even one star, but unfortunately this is the lowest score I can give. I regret I did not read the reviews about this place earlier. On my way to shop at the Rego Center, I saw their AD saying they do the NY inspection. So I stopped by as their first customer on that day. They did a quick check, then I was told that both struts had the oil leakage problem, and I must replace them for over $500. I knew they were tricking me so I said no. The manager suddenly became very angry and told me my state inspection was failed, but still charged me the inspection fee. Days later I had my inspection done with another mechanic smoothly and had no problem at all. So, stay away from this scam. These people working here are extremely dishonest. read more

My mom went there today to get an inspection for my car. I guess they thought that my mother seemed like easy pickings (which she is but thank god she has me for a daughter) and told her my car FAILed the inspection due to "poor brakes and routers". It was going to be 200 to fix which...she agreed too (unbeknowst to me). They saw how easy it was and told her wait no it would be 500 to fix instead which raised a red flag so she decided to call me instead. I asked the guy very simply "did I fail the inspection due to this?" In which he responded yes I failed. So I told him I had my own mechanic and told my mom to pack up and leave. My mom calls me ten minutes later and tell me that they were lying the whole time. They couldn't hand her a fake failed inspection test so they had the give her the actual reading and we had passed it. So DO NOT COME HERE. They are willing to lie and cheat you for business. Do NOT go there. They will fail your inspection and try to push repairs on you that you don't even need. In fact they will mess with your car to make you believe that it won't pass inspection. Messed up my fuse, only to find out they were tampered with so they could make extra cash on it. Definitely filing report for DMV charges, BBB charges and FTC charges. I have mixed feelings about this place. I've had mixed experiences. Positive - I brought my old car in for an inspection and they noticed that I had an issue with my struts. They brought me into the station and showed me how they could see it. Rather than trying to strong arm me into repairs they said that I should check first if it was covered by my factory warranty and if it is I should take it to the dealer and they will do it for free. It was covered and he dealer fixed it. Positive - I've had them help me fill my tires which they have done for free (I of course tip). Negative - it's hard to get the car in for an inspection on Saturday if you don't want to leave your car there for a while. Negative - the gas is always more expensive there then other stations in the area. read more

Probably the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic. All I needed to have done was an OBD scan which is usually free and done in goodwill. The person "helping" me told me that I needed to "take care of" him first and pay him ten dollars to do something that is normally free. There was no one being helped at the time and now I can see why. If they will extort people for something that should be free, it's pretty safe to assume that they will try to scam you for bigger things as well. read more

I came here on Saturday evening to get a NY state inspection. Granted it was around 7 so I get that maybe it's too late. I was told to come back on Monday after 8 am. I came after work and was there by 3:15. I pulled up and the worker questioned me on why I didn't have a sticker on my new car. Obviously that's why I was there. I told him because I bought it in New Jersey I didn't have one. He said well you need a registration. Giving him a look and advising him I already have it. I had a flat tire and rushed to the station. I told them I was in a rush and they serviced me immediately. I had a new used tire on my car and drove off within about 25 minutes! It only cost about $80 for the tire and labor combined. I get most of my oil changes and maintenance work done here as well. Nicko is amazing, nice, and helpful! Often someone will throw in a service or product at no extra cost if I'm getting significant work done. Like this place a lot! read more

I have to agree with the previous review that this is not a place you should take your car to. I have been a car owner most my life, during which time I have done most of my own repairs, so I am well familiar with the telling signs of a dishonest garage. Quick story. For year's my girlfriend's family has been taking their car there for an annual tune up. Each time when it comes back it runs no better than it did when they took it in. The last time this happened I decided to check the place out myself. Pretending that the car was mine, I took the car in and asked the mechanic what it would cost to give the car a tune up. Standing from thirty feet away he determined that the carburetor would have to be entirely rebuilt. When I asked him how it was he possible that he was able to diagnose what was wrong with the car without even looking under the hood, he didn't reply, he just turned around and walked away. Places like this are predators which take advantage of the fact that a large percentage of the public know nothing about car repair. So how does one find a good garage with an honest mechanic? My advice to you is the best way to find a good mechanic is through a family or friend's recommendation. You might also want to check out the reviews on Cartalk.com. Never take your car to a garage based on the convenience of the location and, whenever possible, always get a second opinion before having any major work done on it. When you finally decide to have the work done, always ask the mechanic to give you whatever parts they had to replace so you can examine them yourself. If a mechanic is unwilling to do this, odds are they are trying to pull a fast one on you and charge you for unnecessary repairs. A little extra leg work and a little more time will often save you a lot of money and endless frustration. read more

Went to other car shop and was no leak, no problem. DO NOT COME HERE for any repairs and not even for a NY inspection!!!!! I came here today trying to get an inspection and when I came in they told me it would take two hours... Since I lived walking distance and didn't have plans for that amount of time, I agreed. 15 minutes later, they called me and told me I should come back and take a look because there was something wrong with my brakes. So I come back and they try to "show" me that my two front brake rotors were rusted. Note, I got new rotors and brake pads just about a year ago so I knew what corrosion to brake pads looked like. Mine were fine!!! So I disagreed to the repairs and they let me go without giving me a formal documented inspection even though they said my car was perfectly fine otherwise. They tried to scam me into paying over $500 for repairs because they had nothing better to do. They do not have good customer service and are not ethical. They could care less if your car was perfectly fine, they'll make up an excuse to charge you $$$. I would never come back here, not even to get gas. Go to Sears auto center- they passed me with no problems whatsoever, as expected. read more

Holy shit keep away. I come here because it's not far from where I work and changing oil is cheaper than other places (20$ for any CAR up to 5 qts). So I come here at 2:15 and someone tells me that all the guys are out for lunch (not sure if it's really smart sending all the workers away at the same time But that's not my business). He said to come back in 45mins. I waited there until 3 under the impression that the guy knows that I'm there and why I'm there (given that I did talk to him). So someone pulls up ahead of me and starts talking to the same guy and then he pulls the car up into the shop and starts changing his oil and out of no where all the workers just happened to be there (even though I never saw them come back). So I just waited for my turn which for some reason was a very long wait. It took them 30 minutes to change the guy's oil. (about 10 to change mine) And now why I would never come back here. After the guy ahead of me leaves I pull my car up and tell him I need an oil change, he then looks at me and says why didn't you tell me earlier I had a spot free, I told him I've been waiting for over an hour right in front of him and that he knew I was there for an oil change. He then starts to raise his voice and say, "listen I talk to a thousand people everyday I don't remember everyone" not being in the mood to get into an argument I just brushed the comment off and said ok either way just a regular oil change. As one of his workers starts to drain the old oil the main person (the attitude guy) tells me that it'll be 25 plus tax. I tell him the sign says 20. He then says something that instantly made me mad "if you were able to read the sign properly you can see that it says cars and you have an SUV" I told him first of all I have a crossover not an SUV and second of all the amount of material used on my car is the same as a smaller car. He put 4.5 qts into my car and the same filter as a Nissan Altima. So what's the difference then? Being a previous Nissan Altima owner I know for a fact that for an oil change for both cars are the same. I'm not sure whether this guy was the manager or the owner but he was extremely disrespectful and insulting, he's completely lost me as a costumer for good. I wasn't too mad about the fact that the price was 25 plus tax just mad that he changed the price from what it's supposed to be, as well as his attitude and constant insults. read more

Very Shady! Took my car here to get repaired based on AAA recommendations. I was quoted a price to repair my car double of what the dealership repaired my car for. You would think this would be the opposite situation as dealership prices are known to run higher. The mechanic actually told me "good luck having the dealership fix your car for the price I am offering you" When I told the mechanic I could not afford the repair price, he asked if I wanted to sell my car to him. I was also told by the AAA tow truck driver that this place is known to scam people and I would not walk out of the shop without $1500 bill. He was right! I am glad I had my car towed out of that shop and taken for a second opinion. This is awful customer service and would never recommend anyone to get their car fixed here. Do not go here! My 76 year old aunt saw her inspection was up and called her mechanic. He was busy and couldn't get to it for awhile. She went locally to these crooks. She had the car serviced not to long ago. Her regular mechanic said it should pass no problem. These guys saw a victim right away. Gave here a bunch of lies. She really wanted to go away that weekend so she agreed to the work. Came in for mandatory safety and emissions inspection at 9 am. The repair shop was empty. Went to get a coffee. He called to tell me my front struts needed to be replaced for $1100. I believed him, but decided to sleep on it. He even lowered the price to $995 as I was preparing to leave. Still, I took my car to Firestone and asked them to show me what was wrong with my struts. The Firestone people were confused, said the struts were fine, and gave me a clean safety/emissions inspection report and new sticker. There are a few reviews here saying this shop has a bad reputation and scams people. Unfortunately, my experience at the shop has not disproven this reputation. read more

Do not take yoyr car here for repair! They are extremely dishonest and will try to rip you off for every last cent! I had a new alternator installed here over the summer and on my way back from out of state, my car stopped in the middle of the highway. Everyone I talked to, and everyone that assessd the car agreed that the alternator was the problem. All of a sudden the owner turned from this charming friendly person to the shady person, continually looking for a way out of making good on his warranty. Now he is trying to convince me that my battery is the problem (despite the fact that this a relatively new battery, approximately 8 months old, and tested innumerable times AND ruled out as the problem). He refuses to put a warranty on the "new" alternator he has put in unless I buy a $150 battery from him which is definitely not going to happen. After which car had idling problems, so they replaced an ignition coil and car still had idling problem, so they said I needed to replace fuel injectors. Said it would cost another $700 plus labor to repair. Said they would buy the car for $1500. 2001 Ford Focus with 21,000 miles. They say that they sold car for $1600, but didn't give me the name and address of the buyer. No one would tell me the name of the owner of the gas station. You figure it out. read more
