Can hardly understand the person on the phone. I wanted a screen made in a standard Milgard color (tan). He Sounded like I was asking for something he never heard of then He hung up on me. Called back and he said it was bad reception. I finally got him to say they don't make screens in that color or don't really make any at all. I guess the only put new screw. Material on your existing frame. I would've thought a screw shop could make any size you want or replace parts due to the plastic corners breaking and the metal frames getting damaged. Oh well. We had Luis come to fix a window in our home two weeks ago. He was very nice and seemed professional. I asked him for a quote to replace a different window. He indicated that he would be sending me that quote the next day or the day after that at the latest (within 2 days, essentially). It has been two full weeks, and I have not received the quote or any communication from him. Needless to say, I will not be using his services anymore. I am a great believer in professionalism and commitment. I would not have mind it if he had asked for more time to give me the quote, but the lack of communication and commitment to his word leads me to believe that I should work with another company. read more

Absolutely a horrible place. I should've listened to the 1 stars. They're not lying when they said that they weren't great... I came here because one of the employees said there was a warranty if there was any mistakes done at all. I even told him to write it down. I specifically asked them to add a spring and the tabs to the correct area. When I came back and received the screen door, they put tabs in the wrong area, it was too big, and there were no springs. When I asked the manager, he found a loophole to the "warranty" on the receipt and said it doesn't specifically say warranty. He said, "don't worry I'm the owner, just try it. However, if it doesn't fit, you're going to be charged extra because you have to come back, have it cut, and put springs on it." To add on to my anger, he also said that I was wrong and I didn't need to have springs. And if there were springs, and it didn't fit it would be a waste of HIS time and effort because he just has so many orders on queue. And on top of that, the bottom was ripped a little too. I'm afraid that over time, because of the rip, the whole screen window will tear again. Also you have to call them to have them start on yours. If not, you'd probably have to wait a while. read more

I'm surprised to read reviews that are positive because that sure is not the experience I had with A Screen Shop. I called last Saturday to schedule an appt and was told "we are really busy" (which I understand) and I would receive a call on Tuesday to schedule an appt. No call was received. Today I called back and spoke with someone who just wasn't listening to what I needed and had difficultly even scheduling an appt. He asked me three times if I needed my doors to be re-screened when I made it clear I needed screen doors made and installed and I was ready to have the work done. Then he asked me to text him the information on what I needed because his "phone was not working good." I wouldn't trust that the job would be completed properly if they can't communicate effectively with customers on the phone. I'm shopping another company. read more

I had A Screen Shop replace 9 screens at my home. 3 months later a screen (from a door barely used - by adults) separated on both sides from the frame. I contacted the shop and not only was I spoken to rudely, they would not stand by their work and said there was nothing he would do other than charge again, the full price to re-screen. Very reasonable price, great window measurement and installation service. I had to cancel my initial installation the very last minutes due to my son's unexpected high fever. Although the installation guy already on the way to my home, the owner did not make any deal out of it, instead he asked how's my son doing. I missed one of the window screen when we did the measurement. The screen itself was fine, but it just didn't fit well, so there was a big gap bewteen the screen and window frame, and the installation guy, Dannis, helped fixing and made it fit without extra charge. read more

Wow! Luis and his son are terrific. We needed numerous screens around our house replaced. Easy sliding door screens, and several aluminium window screens held together with plastic that crumbled in my hands when I removed them! Yikes. Additionally, I wanted to keep our double door entry screen doors. You can't really find ready-made double screen doors. I know, I looked and looked. (I didn't want security doors; only basic screen doors for a double entry.) My neighbors were told they don't exist, and she couldn't get them for her house. My husband and I went to A Screen Shop to look around. Right inside the door were screen doors that they sell, in addition to screen replacements. I asked Luis if he could make us a double screen door. He confirmed that he could. He met us at our house and started to take measurements. He even returned a second time with his son to confirm his measurements for all the screens and the door.His fee was very reasonable. A Screen Shop did an incredible job.I finally have new screens around the house! And most importantly, my new white double-screen doors look amazing and were installed perfectly. Terrible!! We needed a number of screen repairs and replacements. I had them come out and give us a WRITTEN ESTIMATE. Then I approved for them to come do the work and we scheduled it. They said the install would take two days. The first day they spent hours taking off all of our old screens. After all the screens were off, the installer says "Oh, it's going to be $100. more than than the estimate" - we said no way - we go back and forth - I call the company - they say - too bad we won't honor the estimate (they claim they "forgot" a line charge). We say ok fine we have to find another company, please put back on all the screens you took down and the guy TAKES OFF! We call the company and they say "oh too bad he isn't answering his phone". Such a scam!! To wait until they take everything off then they try to hold us up for additional money! Unbelievable! read more
