I recently needed all new windows for my condo and met with three different contractors before making a decision. One company didn't even bother to come out--just asked for measurements and sent a generic quote for basic Milgard windows. Another contractor did show up, but he was extremely pushy and basically demanded that I make a decision on the spot. He was also the most expensive of the three. Their sales rep came out, took his time, was very relaxed and professional, walked me through all my options, and provided full license and insurance info. Approved Contractors is probably one of THE best experiences we've had where the team is clear with the work, prices are reasonable with no hidden costs, and they do what they say they are going to do and ON TIME! They really know what it means to put the customer first and we have already recommended them to friends and family. We had stucco work done and some minor painting and window installation and their work is clean and to code. They would suggest to you to have the work they do inspected rather than not which should tell you something about the quality and pride they provide in their work. I have to give it to our foreman Rene who was an excellent communicator every step of the way, Matt our PM who created our scope of work and estimates who was responsive and available for our questions, and Kimi in the administrative office who was also responsive and kept us informed every week. Approved Contractor completed my house painting in about three weeks' time. The steps were: powerwashing, sanding, patching, siding replacement, priming, painting, clean up, and touch ups. I am very happy with the results. Our curb appeal is significantly improved. Our neighbors keep complimenting the project. The value was great-- I got quotes from three companies and not only was this the best-- there is a lifetime warranty on the materials and is transferable once. Labor warranty is four years. Total expense was under 30,000. Approved Contractor's team is very responsive and helpful. The office, the foreman, and the crew communicate together very well. They don't correct problems with their work and products, even when problem arise within a few months after installation. I had all my doors and windows replaced. Today the French doors in my kitchen won't open. They are stuck shut. I called Approved Contractor who said they sent in a service request to the distributor who then sends it to the manufacturer, and the manufacturer will contact me! It could take more than 30 days they said!!! I need access to the outdoors. I cannot wait weeks. read more

I hired Approved Contractor to replace my aging wooden French doors. Right from the start, Jared the business owner, was professional, no-nonsense, and gave me valuable advice about my options. I actually learned a lot from him. All the interactions with his office staff as well as the tradesmen that performed the job were all professional, honest, and highly skilled, and the end result was just beautiful! Allow me to begin with an analogy: Assume you need a new set of 4 tires for your vehicle. You come to an agreement with the tire shop, and you sign a work order that says (in part) "We will inflate the tires sufficiently." When you pick up the car, you notice that the tires look a little flat, and the dash-board computer is warning you that the tires need air. You point this out to the tire store manager who says "we put 'sufficient' air in the tires." When you disagree, and provide visual proof, he replies "ok, to fill the tires the way you want will be an addendum of [many] dollars." You say, "the work order says you will fill the tire with sufficient air!" He replies, "the air in the tires is 'sufficient'. So went my experience with - let's call him "Mr. Verde" - of Approved Contractor, who was selected to install a new Bay Window in our home. It's a nice Andersen window, but upon initial installation, it was obviously set in the wall askew. We pointed this out to Mr. Verde, who sent his crew back out. Their solution was to jack-up the window with a tire jack, then support it with two-by-fours, then say "you need to discuss this with Mr Verde." His reply was to send us an "addendum" for many thousands of dollars to fix the installation error. His argument was that the window was initially installed with "sufficient" support, even though there was a tire jack holding it up! How can you argue that the window was installed with "sufficient support" when it requires jacking up and two-by-four bracing!?! Ultimately Mr Verde relented - very grudgingly - after telling me what a bad person I am and what a good person he is. His crew returned and installed proper / sufficient support bracing for the window, though I had to agree to expensive additional stucco work. My suggestion: Look elsewhere, or at the very least insist on very definitive language in the 'Scope of Work' that Mr Verde provides to you. read more

Excellent experience from start to finish! We had all our old, and single-pane windows (about 23) and doors (3) replaced at our house. We first met Mark, who came to our house; he thoroughly reviewed our windows and answered our questions without pushing us to sign anything. We met with the owner Jared before we decided to move forward. The communication with the office was excellent. The lead time was ultimately longer than initially planned (but this was expected given the state of the supply chain in 2022). The installation was fantastic. Lalo and his team came for about four days to our house and did an extraordinary job. Lalo explained everything we needed to know about the process to accommodate our working-from-home schedule and our two indoor cats. We got quotes from Approved Contractor (and a few other contractors) to re-side or repaint our house. Their quote was reasonable (not cheap, not expensive) and we ended up going with them - and we're so glad we did. We've used different contractors on different projects in the past, and with the exception of one plumber and one windows person, we've never been happy with the finished work or process. However, with Approved Contractor the work was really well done - everything from communication with the office about scheduling and payment (shoutout to Kimberlee, Emely, and Maia - communication is much more important than a lot of contractors realize and they nailed it) to the initial preparatory work to the finish work (I might ding the cleanup a little - but that's being picky and unreasonable, because I don't know how you couldn't miss some the little paint flakes). So yeah, very happy. Additionally, after the project was done we waited until it started to rain to see how everything held up - would the patch jobs hold, would the rain reveal any places missed? For the most part everything was great - but most importantly, when we asked if they could touch-up the very few issues they came out with no hesitation to do so. And them standing by it gives us so much confidence in the quality of the work. We have a few more projects we're considering (some small, some big) and we will definitely approach Approved Contractor first when we make our plans. read more

Amazing work and great outcome for my bow window. I received several estimates for a large, damaged bow window. After meeting with Approved Contractor (process, pricing, and previous work) it was no doubt Approved Contractor was right for the job. The team was professional and navigated a challenging situation. The window did not meet the exact specifications. The home was built in 1941 and had unexpected wood damage. After speaking to Jared, the team executed a perfect solution and performed a custom install which included concrete framing (outside) and a border frame (inside). Once the wood work was completed, the new bow window installed, and the final paint completed to match the existing color scheme of the house, it was an amazing job. I had the exterior of my house painted by Approved Contractor about 4 months. I have to say, it still looks as great as it did the first day they started painting! From the initial estimate to the final step of the paint job, everyone involved was helpful and professional. If I were you, I would run away as fast as I can from these people. They do a terrible job, they are unresponsive When you point out mistakes, they leave a mess everywhere. And they show up on the weekends without letting you know. If I could give them zero stars, I would. So incredibly rude too. They are also the worst painters ever. They only paint paint where they think that you would look. They damaged our property and then expected us to pay for repairs saying that "it happens". After spending many days researching contractors for my window replacement project, I came to the conclusion that Approved Contractor had the best team for my job. Approved Contractor did wonderful work installing my Andersen windows. The results were better than what I expected. He justified his actions, defended his unprofessionalism, and just further proved what a sketchy character he is. Then he sent off an email, see attached, which contradicts his last email where he quotes me around 10k. If he had sent this email to begin with that would have been the end of this. He is well within his right to not issue an estimate or a bid on projects he is uncomfortable with. He has the right of refusal; people have the right to ignore my warning and pay this character significantly more for windows then they would every other Anlin Dealer within 100 miles. Small leak detected in an upper bedroom, had probably been seepage for some time, but unnoticed until heavy rains a few weeks ago. Nothing serious but added it to the list that every homeowner has and hates. As if in a dream, I said to myself I wish Jared (owner) did roofs. Looking for a company in the area, Approved literally popped up first in the search. I called to schedule and as always, had an appointment for inspection. A cracked tile immediately above the leak area. Jorge did an aerial scope and found a few others throughout the roof and suggested replacing them even though there hasn't been any other leaks. This morning crew arrived on time and found the source, a pinhole tear in the underlayment, literally no bigger than a pencil point. They replaced the (builder grade paper, I suppose) with dang near commercial grade paper, could barely rip it by hand, over the entire area (200sqft), replaced the tiles and almost perfectly matched replacement tiles.
