I don't know where Yankee Transit finds their drivers, but they seriously need to re-evaluate their hiring and training practices. Yesterday, one of their buses completely blocked the intersection of Beverly Street and RIP Anthony Valenti Way -- the pedestrian crosswalk was obstructed, and cars couldn't get through. This isn't just inconvenient; it's dangerous and irresponsible. Drivers should be trained to respect traffic laws and pedestrian safety. This review is for to reasons. Bus number 192 and the supervisor on the curb. First the temp felt like above 80 rather than below 70 degrees. The bus behind felt like 69 (nice and cool). It felt so hot, I had to take off my mask and I still felt like collapsing from heat exhaustion. The driver has a heated up tin can and wood not lower the temp for a few minutes!!! The supervisor is supposed to find out what is the issue and appeal to both sides. She went right into attacking me and pointed to the wrong control of the dash panel. She attended my jacket telling me to take it off. I wear the jacket to keep the uv's off. It was lack of air flow that almost took me out. Like I said earlier the second bus felt good. Wow! Excellent, excellent company. I took my family on a road trip with the New England Revolution to see an away game in New Jersey and they hired Yanked to supply 10 motor coaches for our group. The buses were first class and very comfortable and clean. The drivers were very friendly and professional. It surprised me that the drivers drove very safely and were very courteous with other motorists. Most other bus drivers go 90 miles an hour in the left lane and push everyone out if their way but Yankee's drivers stayed in the middle and right lanes and obeyed the speed limit. The big surprise was on the way back when all if the buses stopped in the first northbound rest area in Connecticut and a new group of drivers who had driven down in cars were waiting to take over. Yankee operates LEGALLY and does not violate hours of service. Wow! I think many of their competitors would force their drivers to falsify logs to finish the trip. I was amazed when our driver quietly said goodbye, disappeared into a white sedan with other drivers and a new driver took over our bus. I'd suggest using Yankee over any other charter or tour bus operator because they are first class. read more

Just got on a Yankee bus because they're being used as the shuttles for Green Line D. Holy cow, this is the most comfortable bus I've been on! The seats are nice, outlets work, it's clean, and the recline is UNREAL. Everyone at the stop affiliated with Yankee was incredibly kind, including the driver himself. This letter was sent to Yankee bus. As of Sept 14, 2011 no reply August 14 2011, at about 2:35pm EST, we were at the I-84/I-684 interchange near Brewster, NY. There was a mile and 1/2 backup of traffic. We waited in line like everyone else. We were at a dead halt, about 200 feet from the Exit and of your buses(Bus # WMATC 1638; license plate: Mass. 8638), cut in front of the car in front of us at a very high speed for the moment(about 40 MPH, the exit speed was 20). To the point that, if we didn't move into the breakdown lane, he would have hit us. He was so close, that if i were to put my hand out the window, it would have been split in 1/2 he was so close. I do hope you take the appropriate measures to the driver of this bus. He is dangerous to your passengers, and all other drivers. Please do something before someone is hurt or killed read more

I have never been a big fan of coach buses. I have ridden on buses from The Coach Company at my summer camp and Peter Pan for a different activity. The Coach Company had no wifi or outlets. Then, a few months later I rode on a Peter Pan bus. It had no wifi, but had outlets. On the downside, the outlets didn't work. So when I rode on Yankee Line with my school for our 8th grade Washington DC trip, I was impressed that there were working outlets and there was wifi. My school had booked 5 buses, and I was on bus 119, a 56 seater bus. Our bus driver was Ira and he was very nice throughout our whole trip, and our whole bus even pitched in a dollar or more from each of us to give to him at the end of our trip as a thank you. I only wish the wifi worked well enough that you could do something efficient on it, and that there would be more leg room, more outlets, and seats that recline more. read more
