    Lamb gyro
    Abby V.

I ordered my gyro online and picked it up pretty fast, so the service was great. My only problem was that it was cold and dry. Gyro's normally have hot meat, and the bread has a good softness to it. I'd like to come back and try more items from the menu. Thank you

My only criticism, not enough food. They use to give generous portions. BTW my meal was over $20. I use to go crazy for Moby Dick's. I won't rush to go back there. The food was tasty though. The service was good . The order taker was pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was a nice serene vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a few tables. Mostly a take out joint[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Hooray! Moby Dick has arrived in Annapolis, in the new Beacon development along Riva Road. M. D. was one of our favorite places in Montgomery County, and we have missed it so much. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is bright and nicely decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have tables & a counter with stools if you want to eat in, but they were also doing a brisk carry out business.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered our favorites: the dolmah appetizer and two chicken kebab platters (with 1/2 rice & 1/2 salad). They bring out pita bread with tazaiki sauce. The folks at the counter were SO pleasant. The chicken was very moist and perfectly cooked, and the portions were so big that we took quite a bit home.

I made my owner online and it was very easy to do. The owner was so nice while we waited for our order. There is metered street parking available for this restaurant and I did not have an issue finding a spot. I personally ordered the Greek Philly. I was was thoroughly impressed with my food. First, the portion size was huge. I could not finish it in one sitting. Second, it came with a huge salad, which I was not expecting. The salad was delicious, the Philly was delicious. The fries.....not so much. They were crispy and hard. The salad and Philly were both tasty and packed with flavor. I cannot say enough about this place. They have a wide assortment of food including gyros, salads, soups, wraps, paninis, burgers, skewers/kabobs mezza, and antipasti. They also have worldwide booze, including imported beers. I am glad that I was able to experience this food and highly recommend checking this place out.

Outside feels like a complete different place (so pick indoor seating). Second, the staff is very friendly. We ordered several of their appetizers for our group and they were all delicious. Their kabab plates were a hit. They also offered a good selection of drinks. Minor thing, and it is from personal experience only: their menus are printed on black paper and in a plastic sleeve. Reminds me of the bad touristy places in Europe. It did not represent how good the food was, because usually we run away from this Massive Plastic menus... so I Joel one day they will update them to something nicer for a better first feel.

The service was attentive throughout our meal, and every dish arrived beautifully plated with great attention to detail. We started with the Beyti Sujuk Rolls and the Beetroot Hadiqa. The rolls were one of my favorite appetizers. They were crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the yogurt and tomato sauce. The Beetroot Hadiqa was equally impressive, with beets, apples, walnuts...it was a refreshing combination of sweet, savory, and creamy flavors. For our entrees, we ordered the Riyash of Lamb and the Freekeh Short Rib. The lamb chops were cooked beautifully and served over couscous with broccolini, while the pistachio crust added a nice texture. The Freekeh Short Rib was incredibly tender and the rich beef jus paired perfectly with the mushrooms. It was hearty, comforting, and one of the best short rib dishes I've had. The cocktails were just as memorable. I ordered the Asfar So Good, while my partner had the Ashita Affair. Both were beautifully presented with a silky foam on top and were as delicious as they looked. The Asfar So Good was light, refreshing, and well-balanced with subtle floral and citrus notes, while the Ashita Affair had a smooth, creamy texture with pistachio and rose flavors that made it feel almost like a dessert cocktail without being overly sweet. This is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality of the ingredients, presentation, atmosphere, and service justify the cost. Every plate felt thoughtfully prepared, and the overall experience was memorable from start to finish. If you're looking for elevated Middle Eastern cuisine, creative cocktails, and one of the most beautiful dining rooms in Baltimore, Ammoora is absolutely worth the splurge.

We had an earlier dinner reservation so it wasn't as crowded at the beginning but was quite busy at the end. We tried a couple different cocktails and I loved both of mine - Ashta Affair and Asfar So Good. The Ashta Affair was sweet and creamy and the Asfar So Good was deliciously refreshing. My friend really enjoyed his Old Fashioned Date and had a fun experience trying the El Massaya Arak. For appetizers, we ordered Muhamara and Mousakhan Chicken Rolls. The Muhamara came with pita and was such a great dip. The chicken rolls were equally as good with their own sumac labneh dip we enjoyed. For entrees, we shared the Braised Lamb Shank and Makloubeh. The portions were large and the meat was tender. Neither were over seasoned and were absolutely delicious. We couldn't finish it all and saved the rest for leftovers - yum! We wanted to try their dessert and ending up getting the Ashta Bil Asal and Ruz Bil Karaz. The Ashta Bil Asal had cotton candy which made it a fun dessert to try and the Ruz Bil Karaz had a great caramelization coating. Neither were overly sweet which we preferred. It was such a great ending to our meal. I absolutely loved my experience here. Our server, Miriam, was friendly and attentive. We even chatted with the GM, Iman, who also made sure we were provided a great first experience. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who's looking for a boujee but amazing time!

I'm still not sure if they were making a grain bowl or a modern art installation, but hey, art is subjective. Now, about the utensils. There were approximately 14,379 forks. No knives. Not one. When I mentioned this, the response was... well, let's call it "emotionally consistent with someone listening to whale noises in their head." Very zen. Very Labrador-being-told-about-quantum-mechanics energy. Timing here? It's its own category. Not quite fast casual, not quite slow food. More of a "we'll get there when we get there" vibe. Like a road trip with no map, but at least the music is good. Highlight of the visit? Watching a young man "wash" his hands. One hand at a time. No soap. It was a bold choice -- hygiene minimalism, if you will. The glove application that followed? A true masterclass in confidence over competence. And yet... I'll probably be back. Because despite all this, the people are nice, the place is clean, and even interpretive grain bowls have their charm. Plus, I'm kind of invested now. I want to see if a knife ever appears.

Kinda puts a limit on who gets to be comfortable during HH. Just saying... I like the place if things change I will change my rating. Kidding, because my friend and I were treated as if we were royalty, wearing nothing but the finest of finery. We were there just before noon on a Tuesday, not the busiest lunch of the day in every restaurant I know. But this place is enormous, so I imagine they could have accommodated two very easily, regardless. Everything was absolutely spotless, gleaming and shining - there are photos of dining there, but even in daylight, it had a beauty seen in the finest restaurants. The service was absolutely perfection - as a former wait person, I'm picky ;) Richard was there when we needed anything and left us alone to gab when we didn't. And of course, the food. The FOOD! Seriously, best Greek food I've had in years and years. I chose the lunch gyro pita, which was overflowing with tender, perfectly spiced gyro meat, with just the right balance of tomatos, onions and feta cheese. Coulda been more tzatziki but I am kind of an addict to that stuff, so it was probably just the right amount. ;) I also ordered the fasolakia (green beans simmered in tomato sauce, but that doesn't begin to explain the complex mix of flavors and textures!) So delicious, with the beans still crispy tender, and a hint of cinnamon which I dont' recall having in this dish before. It was amazing! They serve every platter, sandwich and pita with a very hefty serving of giant steak fries. They had a nice seasoning but were more like house fries. In other places, "Greek fries" had a drizzle of oil and crumbled feta so I wasn't expecting these. But yum! Good enough to bring some home, because the air fryer will make them terrific again. In all, I was so delighted and really wish this wasn't such an out of the way place from home. I definitely will come back, despite that, because there are so many dishes I want to try. As others mentioned, lots of free parking but here's a quick word of caution if you use GPS to get here. When you exit from MD100 onto Executive Park, it will tell you to take the first left but DON'T DO IT! That's the M&T Bank parking lot. Go just a tad bit farther and don't be surprised by having to look a little because it's so like a business park.

I would say this is more of a 3.5, rather than a 4 star review, continue reading ... The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside and out, with blue lights throughout. We loved that! We sat outside and were happy that the patio area wasn't very hot and that the nice large umbrellas protected us from the sun and were lit up when it got dark. We started with Saganaki, which included pita. It was flambed table side and delicious, we all loved it. We also had Calamari, I don't eat it but husband and daughter really enjoyed it. For entrees, husband had the special (filet mignon w/crab cake and shrimp on top), that came with mash potatoes and veggies. The steak was good but undercooked, the crab cake was good. Daughter had the pasta, she didn't really love it. I had the lamb shank with orzo. I don't usually like lamb but it was very tender and didn't have the aftertaste that usually comes with lamb. The service was very good, waiter was very attentive, replenished waters often and made good suggestions. Although we liked the restaurant, we felt that as a Greek restaurant there should be more Greek styled pork, chicken dishes. We also felt that some items were overpriced, specialty dish was $75, rib eye was $68, lamb shank was $55, roasted chicken was $39, etc. We will not return for another dinner, but might consider going for lunch to get gyros and Saganaki.
