If the ambience and vibe were the only thing rated this place would be 5 stars. Weird location for what seems like a converted house/restaurant for a nicer upscale place but it was very impressive on the inside. Parking was tricky and tucked away on the back side. Unfortunately the food is kind of an important aspect of the whole "dining experience" and Paul's gastronomic offering simply did not impress. I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich which was deep fried and unimpressive. It tasted more like cornbread and oil than crab. M-in-law ordered the wilted spinach salad which was also just "ok". My 10y/o ordered the chicken parm which was likely some of the worst pasta I've ever consumed at a nicer restaurant. He complained that the sauce tasted like chemicals and he's usually not picky and will eat anything. I assumed he was exaggerating, tried the sauce and noted that it was flavored overwhelmingly with a bitter spice that I couldn't put my finger on. Aside from the poor food the service was decent and the prices were reasonable for the area. Would not try again on our next visit to Annapolis. read more

I love going to Paul's A group of Friends descended with little notice and had lunch there the other day The staff was so welcoming We ran into 3 more friends having lunch too! They have delicious food and over the years I've tasted a number of dishes The Greek Salad topped with a protein Grilled Chicken Salmon Shrimp or Crab Cake I've had many times . I've always found the salad to be fresh crisp with the usual yummy veggies and a mound of Feta My very favorite dish is the Oysters Rockefeller The BEST I've ever tasted!! Can't resist those succulent perfectly cooked Oysters Forgot to mention the Drinks I've enjoyed a Moscow Mule served in the traditional copper mug and a great wine list. Diner here last night with a few mom friends for Annapolis Restaurant Week. The meals were delicious- we shared the spanakopita which was very flaky on the outside and perfect flavor on the inside. I ordered from the ARW menu. I got the Rockefeller oysters for my first course and the Chilean sea bass, shrimp and mushroom ravioli as my main. Perfect amount of food and the sauce with the sea bass and shrimp was so divine! For dessert I got the tiramisu which I highly recommend! Unfortunately we were rushed to leave not because of the staff/restaurant but BGE was doing emergency work on a pole next to the restaurant causing no power for the remainder of the evening. I wish we were able to stay longer and enjoy ourselves because we hadn't seen each other in a while. That was the only downfall of the night. Would love to dine here again though and get the full experience without being rushed. read more

Had a lovely meal here with friends. Service was attentive and the restaurant was comfy. Their Greek food was why we came and it did not disappoint. We shared a couple of dips and I had the chicken souvlaki. A hearty portion with grilled veggies, tzatziki, pita and rice. My friends had moussaka and the whole fish special-both good. I had to come to the Supreme Court for a filing, and I was looking for a place I had been before and stumbled upon this quaint place very clean very nice food. It's Friday and the server and I joke that it was fried brain day... I ordered a glass of mailbec , a nice small Greek salad waiting for my entrée and then I'm off to my grandson's school . I would suggest next time I come I'm gonna ask him to put the Greek salad dressing on the side of head way too much vinegar for my taste read more

Who knew a place with such an American name would have such legit Greek food? We had the taramasalata (very much like my grandmother used to make from scratch), Pita (warm and plentiful), Traditional dolmades, Tzatziki, Mythos beer, Spanakopita, and Mussels. Each dish was excellent. The mussels were the only disappointment. While the sauce was outstanding and dip-worthy, the mussels themselves were small, not firm or plump, didn't hold together, and a bit gritty. This was sort of strange because they should be in season and Maryland is known for outstanding mussels (and crabs, of course). Spanakopita was flavorful and flaky. It was a Goldilocks bake, not too overdone and not too underdone - juuuuust right. Overall, this is a great place and should not be missed if you want some outstanding Greek food. First time visiting, came here based on reviews. It's a charming place, extremely clean, friendly people. We ordered Greek salad, (needed more dressing) gyro, and chicken souvlaki platter. Gyro meat was all the same size and shape slices. I think it was pre made. Chicken was extremely dry, the rice was dry with absolutely no flavor. WE REALLY WANTED TO LIKE IT . Make a reservation! We didn't do so on a Wednesday and we messed up. Sat at the bar and had wonderful crushes, 1/2 price bottles of wine and beer. The apps were great-breaded calamari was better than grilled calamari. The dips were great but they were out of pita ( crazy for a Greek restaurant!!). After attending a training in Annapolis one of my coworkers recommended coming here for lunch. It was my first time but definitely not my last! Everything was delicious. I started with an unsweetened iced tea and a cup of the lemon orzo soup. I then had the chicken souvlaki platter that came with rice and a side Greek salad. I ended up taking the side Greek salad home since the server brought it out a little late and I was pretty full by that point. My coworkers has the gyro with french fries. We went back again today for an early lunch. The staff are friendly and competent. The atmosphere feels upscale without being formal. The menu is small and varied enough that anyone can find something to tempt them. And -- when the food comes the taste will raise anyone's spirits. Today's special food was the shrimp bisque. Seasoned differently than all the others I've tried. I'm going to have fun trying to copy it at home. There is an extensive bar list which we haven't sampled yet. If the bar tender is anything close to being as good as the chef, the cocktails will be a treat too. read more

Paul's is a gem of a restaurant. My husband and I go almost every Friday because it's always consistent. I have never had a bad meal, the service is superb, and the restaurant is so welcoming. It's always tough finding a restaurant that has excellent Greek food. Everything is authentic, homemade and delicious. Dan, Frank, and Rick are excellent and always make the dining experience fun! This restaurant is the best kept secret. Try the pasticio, dolmathes, sponakopita, avcolemeno soup and all the specials are always so good. read more

Met a friend here for lunch and it had a great atmosphere. The service was also very prompt and friendly. In the end both my friend and I got the mini Greek salad on a pita and added chicken to ask the protein. It was pretty big for a "mini" and I had to get a box for take out. Finished it for dinne. Nice salad which had a nice selection of vegetables and feta. It is a little easy to miss driving by but thankfully there's a traffic circle down the street so you're able to turn around easily. read more

Great little spot with parking in the rear off of West St! Greek food and lunch food in a quaint setting - they have a small seating area as well as outdoor seating out back. We loved the hummus and fresh pita as well as the eggplant dip! Everyone raves about their meal - turkey and gravy with toast points, a Ruben, and a club stacked high with sandwich meats and fresh baguette. Would definitely come here again! Let me start off by saying that this is one of the top restaurants in Annapolis Maryland!! I had never been here in my 33 years in Annapolis and all my friends said go so I went!!!!! I started with the chicken orzo soup which was outstanding! You have to try the Oysters Rockefeller which was fresh and released many flavors! The highlight of my meal was Salmon Chipotle Salad which has to be the best salmon I have EVER had!!! Amazing. I used their catering menu for my family and friends Easter dinner. We had a Greek feast. The dishes were all made to put in the oven to heat up. We had the lamb kabobs, spanakopita, dolmotas, and Greek salads from Paul's. My friend, who is Greek, brought her Mousakka. It was delicious. The staff made it very easy to order, pick up and prepare. Thank you! I also have gotten take out from them during the pandemic and eaten in the restaurant when they reopened. Place was sweltering hot inside. AC not working well. Owner apologized and said we could leave if we wanted to!?!?!? Had some crazy 'air purifier' made from some AC filters and a box fan left over from Covidmania. Car had driven thru bathroom wall and was covered with a tarp and tape. Chicken Marsala was bland and 1/2 chicken breast was tough. My wife ordered a whole fish which was good. Salmon was good. Nothing was fabulous. read more

Great Greek and Great Service! I was in town for business and came to Paul's for a quick lunch. I sat at the counter and ordered the spanikopita with a side Greek salad. The restaurant was very busy, every table was taken but the bartender, who I think is Paul's granddaughter and owner, took my order and even offered me samples of the soups. I came back again the next day as I was still in town and knew it would be reliable and had already become a regular, I was greeted by name and she knew my order from before! My boyfriend and I went two nights in a row, because it was that good. The first night, we had the hummus and flaming cheese (whatever it's called) appetizers. Then we had the fluke, which was on special, and the lamb souvlaki. Both were amazing, but the lamb was incredible. Also, they give out bread which is also amazing, as well as a salad before the meals. You have an option between the Greek and the Caesar and I will say right now, get the Caesar. I don't even like Caesar salad, and I'm pretty sure I decided to go back the second night for the Caesar alone. Everything has been great, and I'm excited to go back a third time. Made a reservation for Paul's in Annapolis with the intentions of thinking moms and I would be basking on the patio by the water enjoying some fresh seafood, only to find out that this Paul's is no longer in existence. It was bought by Mike's right next door. Errr, annoyed I called and the hostess tells me we are less than 10 minutes away, so I head to West Street only to find an awkward shaped renovated building that calls its self a café? At this point I am really hoping I did not screw Mother's Day up. Glad my sister and brother were working today, so they could'nt make matters worse by complaining..... I immediately tell my mother that if she does not like this place, we can head over to Cheesecake Factory. Turns out she was open and willing to see what this Paul's had to offer. We walk in, its not too crowded, as the Mother's Day Rush had just died down. The family-owned Mediterranean restaurant was pleasant in appearance, the staff was friendly, and very attentive. A really quaint little spot with original artwork available for purchase from local artists. I ordered crabs cakes, home fries, and asparagus. My mother had the maple glazed pork chop stuffed with peaches and stuffing also with asparagus and home fries. The food was delicious and so carefully prepared. Crab cakes had no filler, nicely seasoned, herb roasted red potatoes, and asparagus grilled with just the right amount of crunch. Her pork chop was tender and sweet. We really enjoyed this place! For desert moms had the German Chocolate cake, she said it was fresh and tastes like it was homemade. I finished with a rich latte. Brunch for two with Bellinis, $54, this place wasn't super packed or noisy either. I will definitely come back here after a day of shopping over at Annapolis Mall or on my way to Annapolis Harbor. Paul's Homewood Cafe is where the locals come and I'm sure they won't mind if no one else ever finds out about their little secret and I wouldn't blame them. Went here for mother's day. The experience was just ok. It was a very fast experience, we had an app and out entree within 30 mins and we're out the door. I felt rushed. I got the smoked salmon Benedict. I asked if I could have tomato and capers on the side and the server told me no modifications on mothers day.
