Miso Soup and garden salad with ginger dressing
    Leticia S.

Food was okay. One of my rolls tasted slightly fishy, which is not a positive on the fish side. The miso soup was good, the garden salad was okay as well. I did enjoy the house sake. Service was also really good. I just wish the sushi was of better quality. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment was nice and quiet with decent music in the background.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Update: Ended up getting food poisoning and had to leave work early due to the side effects associated with food poisoning. Won't be returning here.

The food was very tasty and delicious and they are very friendly, nice, kind, and very attentive. It's very nicely decorated and they had it decorated for Christmas. I love seeing the fish when you first come in,

Went here for my wife's birthday yesterday and I can believe I didn't know this place existed, great food, great service all reasonably priced , every one in our group loved it, I wish I would have got the name of the woman working the door , I'll assume she was the manager and she was awesome! Great experience all around , highly recomended

Location: Forest Hills NYC Service: Good. The person assigned to cook was funny and tried to make it entertaining. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: Clean. Not a lot of people when we went.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food: Teriyaki Steak: for me it was okay nothing super special about it. Hubby chose: chicken Teriyaki. So the chef gave us soup and some veggie salad to start and cook the rest in front of us. Great experience seeing the way the chef cook the food. The flaming trick and all haha and for making us laugh. Over all we had fun and the food tasted good. Can't complain.

Simply amazing . It was my mothers first time and my daughters as well. They both enjoyed the experience . Food and drinks were amazing. Will definitely come back.

Absolutely no complaints about this place. I first dined here during the pandemic when it was only outdoor eating so I didn't get the full experience, however the food was good. I came back for the full experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The table was just my family & I.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You get the soup and salad appetizer. I also got chicken wing appetizer which consisted of 4 pieces of fried chicken with the spicy sauce on the side. The chicken was fresh, hot, and very crispy. Then I got the chicken and shrimp hibachi which comes with vegetables, rice, and noodles.

Food was good here. Had a great time with my daughter. The service was great, we had a combination of sushi and Habachi dishes and they all delicious. The Habachi salmon dish was able to feed two... we were stuffed. The ambience was ok... busy night. Live, love, and laugh -Sha

I went here for early dinner, connecting with family near JFK and the food was fantastic. Had the Hibachi Steak and Chicken. Cokes with rice, we got the fried version which was surprisingly light and delicious. We asked for the steak medium and it melts in your mouth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great food, friendly ambience and pleasant staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend trying the place.

Definitely one of the best hibachi restaurant I have been to. Actually this was my first one. I took my wife here for Valentine's day a couple of years ago, The experience was awesome, we enjoyed the chef cooking the food right in front of us. Rice with chicken and eggs being chopped up into a heart shape , was really cool. Don't forget about the fire show. At showgun you get the full hibachi experience. Me and my wife chicken fried rice was really good ,she also had a dragón roll to go with her meal. Service was good, ambiance looked great.

We love the sushi and hibachi at Shogun and eat here almost every week. I'm a big fan of their green tea and found out that I can buy that same brand two doors down at Tokyo Market- it is delicious! I'm currently enamored of the Denny's roll and opt to garnish it with eel sauce instead of mayonnaise. B. enjoys the sushi à la carte and the Bento boxes, too. We can't say enough about the service and welcoming we receive every time from the staff to the owner. Lastly, watch for this restaurant during the next season of Billions. Go!

The service was on par. We walked in and it didn't look like a hibachi place from the entrance. It looked like a sushi restaurant from the entrance as the hibachi part was in the attached room. They ask where you would like to sit and of course we said hibachi room. Just like the saying goes, when in Rome do what the Roman's do. So when at a hibachi place, you're there for the experience. Anyways, we were brought to get hibachi and given the menu while seated. It took awhile for the chef to get situated and cook for us, but once he did everything was good. They give you fried noodles that are sautéed in sauce for free. After that I believe your meal should come with salad with ginger sauce and clear soup. Both are really good. Believe me when they give you large portions so no need to order other things off the menu. I got the udon with spicy seafood. Yes, it was a bit spicy and I liked it. I also ordered this red cocktail and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. But if you really like cherry juice you should order it, if not don't bother. So, I heard in the ladies room people were rating the place to each other and they said we'll come back. So there you go, perhaps one of these days I'll be back too.

Ask the Community - Shogun Hibachi

    Are they halal?

    No it's hibachi and sushi

    Is this a halal restaurant?

    It is a Japanese restaurants

Is this a good spot for a large group? (12-15ppl)?

I think each hibachi table holds about 8 so you might need 2 tables. The space is certainly large enough and the staff is very accommodating. Just call ahead and make a res for a group that large.

An Unforgettable Omakase Experience!…read more We celebrated the 4th of July with an incredible omakase dinner at Masaki, and it exceeded every expectation. Every course was beautifully presented, impeccably fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the delicate Red Sea Bream and buttery Scallop to the luxurious Toro with Caviar, Sweet Shrimp with Uni, and the unforgettable Eel with Foie Gras, each bite was a masterpiece. What truly elevated the evening was Michael, our sushi chef. He was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every course, the origin of the fish, the flavors, and the best way to enjoy each piece. His passion for his craft was evident, and his attention to detail made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Dining at the sushi bar gave us a front-row seat to watch the artistry behind every piece. The quality of the ingredients, the precision of the preparation, and the genuine hospitality made this one of the finest omakase experiences we've ever had. Thank you, Michael, and the entire Masaki team, for making our holiday celebration so special. We can't wait to return for another unforgettable evening!

I honestly wasn't expecting much but the service based solely for the Omakase blew me away. The Omakase bar was in the back of the restaurant hidden away. The space was very open and the ambience was chic. This is a great place for date night, mommy night out, or group hangouts as they have private rooms too. Every piece tasted very fresh and were quite unique. The steam silky egg appetizer with crabmeat and fish roe was simple yet delicious. One of the dishes was an uni toro roll that was placed on top of our hands and was sprayed with edible gold glitter on us. That was a surprise and it was cute. And that uni just melts in your mouth. We had this matcha pudding with I think had an Oreo sprinkle in it was fabulous. They also surprised us with an extra dessert cause it was all 3 of our birthdays. Very enjoyable experience. Our sushi chef was very accommodating and made our birthday dinner memorable. We originally started out with the summer special of $78pp for a 12 course meal and decided to upgrade to the 14 course meal for $98pp. There was an option for a 17 course meal for $138pp but we were very full towards the end. They also had this $30 lunch and $60 dinner 3 course meal set for restaurant week. My friend's mom wasn't a fan of raw stuff so she ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and she wasn't a huge fan of it. The fish was a tad overcooked and the overall presentation of the dish looked more of a Chinese fusion dish. The risotto had that cheesy flavor but the presentation with the Bok Choy and the risotto looked more like fried rice and was confusing. I would stick with the omakase, which this place is known for.
