Mochinut -- err, I mean -- Mochi Lion Riverside (new name) is located just off the 60 Freeway and University exit, near UCR. They offer mochi donuts that were popularized in Japan (Hello, Mister Donut!) in various flavors. They are slightly sweet but nice to have occasionally. And they make the cutest gifts if you don't want to show up empty-handed. These donuts would instantly bring a smile to anyone's face. They are cute and delicious! They do have a rotating menu so be sure to check back often for any new flavors you want to try out. I'd come here more often but the parking situation steers me away - there's just not enough parking spaces. But if you're patient, they are worth it. Overall, tasty alternative to the ultra sweet "crumbly"cookies - you know the name - that's consistently presentable and fairly priced.

Just a small shop when you walk in. Tried just buying the items one by one: 2 corn dogs and 3 donuts, would've costed 24 bucks, but they had a cheaper for 20 bucks. It was a pretty long wait time though, 2 to 3 customers did come in after us, but was super excited when it was ready. I was disappointed though when I bit into it and discovered that the dough was still raw, and it was difficult to eat it since it's like smothered in hot cheetos. It could've used a minute or 2 longer in the fryer. Also, when the worker was picking the mochi donuts into the box, he dropped one, looked at us sheepishly and still gave it to us, felt like he should've picked another one.

Cute place for a donut not really a place to stay and eat it at, they do have tables but it's pretty small so if people are ordering you don't have a whole lot of space for privacy, service was really good the donuts were delicious, I got the watermelon kiwi drink and it was way to sugary. This place is a little in the expensive side, but I would go back for a donut whenever I wanna splurge at $3.50 each ;) plus the packaging is cute. There is ample parking outside but lots of house less individuals outside. I get it everything is expensive, but maybe they can have a loyalty system if they do have one I wouldn't know because I wasn't offered or told or read anything about it.

Ordered 3 pc mochi donuts and 2 mozzarella dogs and he charges me $24 + tax. I asked about the Mochi Lion box that is literally the same thing and he says "Yeah, that's basically the same thing." So why did you charge me individually instead of the box? The worst part is the actual corn dog. It didn't even get hot enough to soften/melt the cheese.

I am late to the Korean hotdog game, so I was hoping that after all these years most establishments would have their food right. Not to say the food was awful, I guess I was expecting better. I ordered two items: original dog (half cheese half meat) and potato (half cheese half meat). The items themselves were alright. This is my first time trying, so I don't have anything to compare it to. The sugar on the original was a nice touch. Sightly sweet with a crunchy for an ASMR moment. The dough was weird though. After a few bites of both items, I couldn't stomach the rest. Felt like such a waste. What was asp disappointing was the lack of knowledge the staff had about pricing. Menu inside reads that the prices for what I ordered were $4.99 and 5.99 respectively. When I was rung up my total was over $12. I typically don't pay attention or mind, but it just didn't make sense. I asked, "is this after tax?" The cashier said, "I don't know." What? Then I reference the menu above her, and she asks the other staff. They looked so confused. I was then told I'm charged for the boxes the food comes in. Okay fine. But I don't need a box for each item, and also WTF? Please inform your customers about what they are being charged for. I'm not trying to complain about .20, but this happens way too often - people don't know what's happening, staff and customers alike are not paying attention, and that day I happened to not be in the mood to be hustled out of extra coin I guess! Anyway, just a head's up about what's going on. Also, I have had Mochi donuts in other locations and this particular location's items looked stale. Didn't look fresh at all. UCR village could do way better. I was super unimpressed and won't be back.

This is a nice little spot to stop by for something sweet. It's small with just one table and there is a screen upfront that you can order from like a kiosk. The mochi donuts are made already so service will be quite quick.

I came here because I have never tried a mochi - doughnut ( rice donut) and never had a Korean corn dog .., I have to admit it was worth the 20 min drive for the Korean corn dog .. crispy and the cheese oooh sooo stretchy !! This place is my new favorite! I love the coconut mochi donut. It reminded me of the mochi donuts I get back home in Hawaii. Also got an Ube boba and watermelon kiwi fruit tea. The flavor was right on. I tried the Korean dogs for the first time, the hot Cheeto half and half, and the potato half and half. I was not displeased, this stuff is delicious! We drove all the way from Central Cali to riverside about a 3 hour drive. Honestly wasted our time. The corn dogs were just tasteless. No flavor no nothing. The donuts were good but not a 3 hour trip worth good. Service was great. They are sweet and nice but the food 2 thumbs down. read more

First of all; great customer service. The staff is always polite and friendly every time I go in. They offer samples so that you can try the product. The donuts are delicious... the flavors are subtle, and might not please those with bland palettes, or those who are expecting the experience of a run-of-the-mill donut. I see some of those in the reviews; my advice is that you stick to Dunkin'. For those looking for something different, however? These are lighter and don't weigh you down like a traditional donut. They make great surprise treats for friends or co-workers tired of the same old sugary diabetes bombs that are chain donuts. Give Mochinut a try, and never look back. read more

My family arrived an hour before closing. Two girls working. One had a really great attitude but the other was not very happy taking orders, answering any questions, or just basically having any friendly interaction. Just rude. I would have left but my kids really wanted to try. I do not recommend this place. The drinks were ok but the customer service and donut selection are both terrible. Definitely not worth the drive. Their coffee, tea, and baked goods are fantastic, but the main reason I love this place is because it's very cozy and the perfect place to read, study, catch up with a friend, or go on a date. They have a special, themed menu that changes every month. There is almost always seating available. They have a small book exchange, often sell local art, have cute merch, and just opened up a bakery right next door with extra seating. One thing about this sandwhich is that the chicken will never cover the entire bread and it will never be distributed evenly. So you will always have one half that has less chicken and ends up being part veggie pesto sandwhich, which is still worth it. The other favorite is a turkey club sandwhich on a croissant. It's basic, but also very tasty. They also carry a variety of pastries and serve Klatch coffee (brewed coffee) if you need a sweet treat afterward.

The store has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with warm interior design and natural light pouring in from the windows. FOOD The donuts are simply amazing they're made with high quality dough which gives them a chewy and slightly sweet texture. The flavors range from classic (like glazed and chocolate) to more unique options (like tiramisu and coffee). My personal favorite is the pistachio, it is perfect for pistachio lovers!! In addition, don't forget to get a half half hot dog on your way out with your favorite donuts!! DRINKSare also top-notch!! they use high-quality ingredients and have a great selection of flavors. I tried the lemon ice tea and was impressed by how refreshing and tasty it was. In addition to the ice tea, the store also had a wide variety of other flavors and toppings to choose from! What really sets Mochinut apart is the exceptional customer service. ‍‍The staff is always friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have about the menu. They truly care about creating a great experience for their customers, and it shows. I had a disappointing experience at this Mochi Lion location. When I walked in, a guy greeted me and said to let him know when I was ready to order, but when I told him I was ready, he continued refilling things and didn't take my order right away. A girl with a ponytail came out later and when I said hello, she didn't respond, which made things feel awkward. The whole vibe of the store just felt off, and to make it worse, the strong smell of bleach lingered the entire time I was there. I ordered two mochi donuts and a potato hot dog, which came out to around $14 definitely on the pricey side. The donuts were okay but nothing special, and honestly, I wouldn't go out of my way to get them again. The potato hot dog, however, was a letdown. It wasn't cooked thoroughly it tasted raw, doughy, and mushy. I've had better ones at Mochinut, so I'm not sure what went wrong here, but it shouldn't have been that different. When I received my order and said thank you, the staff member just went back to cleaning without acknowledging me. Overall, the customer service and food quality left a lot to be desired. Mochinut is definitely better, and I don't see myself coming back here. read more

I was honestly really disappointed with my recent visit to Mochinut. As soon as I walked in, there was a strong sewage-like smell, which immediately set a bad tone. The donut selection was underwhelming with very little variety compared to what I've seen before. I also tried one of their Korean corn dogs, and it tasted burnt--likely from what looked like old, overused oil in the fryer. On top of that, the fryer itself appeared dirty, which didn't inspire much confidence in the food quality. They were also out of boba entirely, which is a big part of why people come here. Prices have noticeably increased since my last visit, making the experience feel even less worth it. To make matters worse, the condiment bar looked poorly maintained, like the bottles had just been refilled repeatedly without ever being properly cleaned or replaced. Overall, the cleanliness, food quality, and value have seriously declined. I wouldn't recommend coming here in its current state. read more

MochiLion has some of the best corn dogs I have ever eaten! Hot cheeto mozzarella is definitely my favorite to get from this place. The donuts are also so delicious, soft, and has such a unique texture to it. Has a very welcoming atmosphere with amazing and friendly customer service and delicious food!
