My daughter tried the mochi pancake bites and absolutely loved them. The staff were super welcoming and friendly, taking the time to explain everything since it was our first visit. The shop itself is really nice and inviting. The only downside is parking, since it's located in the Otay Ranch Mall, which can be a bit tricky. Drink: The black sesame matcha here was okay. Got it with oat milk and you can really taste the oat milk. Matcha drinks here are more on the milkier side but it's all up to your preference. I love Mochinatics! They have have the perfect texture of mochi and wonderful weekly flavors that are always fun. Friendly and efficient staff, always with a smile on their face. My review is 4 stars because of the nacho poke. The nachos are not what I expected, they're crispy wontons instead of tortilla, which is not that bad - it's just seasoned with too much saltiness! Soft, airy, and tasty! Flavors were spot on and not too sweet. The mochi filled cookies were unique and different! The mochi was very tasty too and the cookie probably would taste better if just warmed up 5-10 seconds. Not too sweet again which I liked. Halo-halo was nice and refreshing! These are hands down the best mochi donuts in otay / Chula Vista! I was lucky enough to discover Mochinatics during Covid days - when my best friend visited from the Bay Area. He told me we were going to someone's house to pick up donuts. I was so confused but when we got there, we were not the only ones picking up an order. I was impressed with how organized the order process was, freshness of the donuts were and oh my gosh the flavor does not compare to any other donuts I've had! This was over 3 years ago. Fast forward to now... the family has this store front with more options and continue to develop new items as well. As we entered, we were welcomed by big smiles and a friendly staff. The inside is clean, menu is easy to read as they also have a display of the donuts available to purchase. My family and I opted for the chocolate biscuit, Oreo and Ube donut. All three were phenomenal. I love how sweet the donuts are but they are not too sweet. The mochi texture is perfect too. The store is conveniently located inside the otay ranch mall. Plenty of parking, space to eat outside and a few seating options inside as well. They also serve drinks such as boba, pancakes and mini donut bites too. Ever since the closure of Mochinut nearby, this store basically replaces it. The place is hip, young, and fresh. A great addition to Town Center Mall but with one big caveat; it's expensive. A dozen mochi donuts costs $35. Standard boba drinks are under $10 but the extravagant drinks are more pricey. Yet another store selling expensive goodies. Service was alright. Don't expect any value either because the donuts are small. Lots of Filipino inspired goodies which i appreciate but it caters more to a rich crowd than the frugal ones. read more

My first experience with Mochinatics was through Instagram. One of my friends entered me into a contest and I won 6 mochi donuts. This was during the pandemic years and they were so good. Followed them on Insta and FB and was excited they just opened their storefront. It's a cute little shop with some seats inside. There are also tables outside in a small courtyard. I've been coming back here multiple times over the past month since I wanted to try a variety of items before leaving a review. I love what they do with their Dubai chocolate desserts, they're very good. My partner likes their cookie butter items. My favorite items are the Dubai chocolate Beignet, Dubai chocolate covered strawberries, Dubai chocolate cookie, and their chicken Katsu sandwich! I've tried two of their drinks and unfortunately I'm not a fan. Service is usually quick and they are polite. Their chicken Katsu sandwich is so good, I'm glad I don't need to go to old Chula Vista or Mira Mesa for good Sandos now. Definitely a must try. Being a Filipino owned store, they also offer halo halo. Mochi donuts flavors change on a weekly basis. And pastries are available until sold out, so may want to call ahead. There are a couple of little tables and benches to sit on, but not much else in terms of decor. The menu is bigger than just mochi donuts, which was a big surprise to us. Additional 30% tip on your purchase. We saw them at a food market and they only had mochi donuts and boba available. The boba was really good, but the experience was just ruined by their insane tipping default. We got 2 slushies with boba and were charged, $22 for the drinks, then additional $6.60 under "tips", so that's literally almost $30 just for 2 drinks. Husband said he didn't see any options for the tips and was just shocked when he got the receipt. Honestly, maybe he just didn't notice it, but that still means default is at 30%, on top of the tip jar they have by their machine. I purchased from them way back during the pandemic and heard they got a brick and mortar. So I definitely had to swing by and try them out. They have a lot of unique things on their menu. A lot of their desserts include mochi in it. Like ever heard of a crumble cookie with mochi in it? I haven't either. Mochi pancakes? Also haven't heard of it either. But definitely a genius idea to create foods that people love and combine it with other top notch desserts. They have boba, milk teas, fruit teas, and Filipino Halo Halo. I'm sure there's more, but I can't remember it at the top of my head. What's really nice is that right next to the counter, they have a visual of what their various desserts look like and to size. So it's nice to see what it looks like and help decide what to order. They are directly outside of Macy's. Their inside is on the smaller side, but their outside is huge. Several tables and chairs to sit at and enjoy what you order. They have indoor seating, but it's limited. They are a super amazing family owned business. They are super patient with answering questions about their menu. Be patient when they are busy! It's easy for a line to form with how small the inside is, but ABSOLUTELY worth the wait! I hope they come out with a fresh milk tea series!! And I hope in the future they get a mic and speaker to be able to call out names or numbers of orders once they're ready. read more

Pros: -On point flavors.. nothing tasted like artificial flavoring -helpful staff -unique menu offerings I've never seen at other boba/mochi shop places -glaze/toppings on donuts held on nicely -nothing was oily Cons: -Website doesn't include mochi donut flavors and mochi cookie flavors -store was very difficult to find. I drove 40 mins from North County to try this place. I've never been to or heard of this mall. I drove around looking for the shop for about 10 minutes and then walked for about 20 minutes until I found it. I would have gave up and left had I not driven 40 mins to get here. -store wouldn't answer their phone number listed on Yelp. I could have easily found the store had they answered and told me what stores they were near Overall, they have really great products and the quality of their offerings speak for themselves.
