I remember one time when my insurance didn't cover it and I have bad vision, but I'll say my eyes have been dry. A lot of things have been wrong with them and he covered it so I could get a pair of glasses and my insurance didn't pay for the glasses nor the visit but he took care of it. He knew I had a job and single mom and trying to do everything in my power to take care of things. I will say I wouldn't change my eye doctor for anything I don't even live close to him anymore and I still go there and now my children do he gets 10 stars in my book and everyone there is pleasant very kind and they explain anything and everything to you and they're definitely not overpriced. If you order contacts from them you get a good deal no matter if you have stigmatism or all kinds of different things, I could go there and get a decent price for a year or two worth of contacts and go somewhere else and it be so overpriced. It's way out of my pocket range even if I was a doctor he's never disappointed. so if you wanna true eye doctor, this is where you go.

However, although he is an excellent eye doctor he lacks…read morebusiness ethics. 2 years ago he charged my son $50.00 for a consultation for contacts and did not disclose he was charging him for it. My son would have chosen glasses had he been forthcoming and honest. After a not too pretty verbal confrontation he finally refunded the $50.00. Well my daughter went in last week. She is a college student and she said no I don't need your consultation because I already had one at my previous doctor. He said okay and then charged her $25.00 anyway for the free contacts he receives to give to his clients. He said he was charging her because she put the contacts on that he gave her. He apologized because he said yes he should have disclosed it to her that it was a $25.00 charge but refused to refund her $25.00. I told him it is sad that we have 7 family members who come to see him and he has to nickel and dime a college student. Needless to say we will take our 7 insurance payments of over $300.00 each to an eye doctor who is honest and upfront. There is no reason in the world Dr. Hennie has to try to charge $25.00 for the free contacts the companies give him for his clients to try on. He also randomly charges people different prices for them. He goes well I usually charge $75.00. I told him but you are missing the point. I am a business owner as well. If a client refuses a service I don't just charge them anyway. If someone declines a service you don't slip in another charge for a service they did not agree to. Then, I said we will order contacts online then. He tells me it is illegal for us to order contacts online without his approval. It is very legal Dr. Hennie we have been ordering online for years without your permission. Shame on you Dr. Hennie.

I had good impression of this office, but not anymore! We saw Dr. Freshwater and heard good things…read moreabout him, but that was not the case. The exam was not thorough at all. If you say "thorough" if an opinion, here are some facts: 1. The doctor grabbed the wrong contact lenses samples for BOTH eyes! 2. At the checkout, the printed prescription for contact lenses was something else for one of the eyes. 3. When I compared with last year's glasses prescription, Dr. Freshwater's prescription does note anything for the astigmatism for one of the eyes, no axis either. So, talking about "thorough." Does he realize we will pay hundreds of dollars for contact/glasses based on his professional judgement and be stuck with these equipment? If a doctor has lost the heart for patients or feels like he can do routine stuff with his eyes closed, he should not practice anymore. A patient doesn't know technical terms, but a human can feel if a doctor cares or not. He did not even bother to "pretend" to care. His nonchalant demeanor and mistakes all over the places revealed his absent-mindedness. The equipment in the office is also dated, traditional pieces, not advanced new equipment with better technology either. It was a harmless exam process, but we walked away wondering what happened?
