My movers (Jesse, Miles, and Max) were really nice and efficient, but left a ton of things in the garage that should have been put in rooms in the house, leaving me with a ton of extra work. Jesse, the GM, got back to me personally and was very apologetic. He offered to send the movers back to rectify it, but I had already taken care of it. I am appreciative of that effort. However, a few days after my move when i was setting up my home office, I found out that both of my computer monitors are damaged beyond repair post-move. One won't even power on! I reached out to Vanessa who directed me to Jesse. I sent a detailed message and asked if I could be reimbursed. He has his read-receipts on his texts, has read them, and has not even acknowledged me. This move was officially a bad experience and I would not recommend this company. read more

The worst experience I've ever had and I've moved 17 times. I'm missing half my belongings . I did not pay for insurance which doesn't mean they can steal my belongings. The workers were only concerned about tips. I honestly didn't have money on me since this was right after my home was destroyed in the January 2023 storm. I promised to tip when my belongings were returned. Instead they decided to go through my belongings and take whatever they wanted . I am missing 40% of my belongings. They even took my dead husbands cashmere sweaters and tea shirts meant for my children. I got a feeling because I'm a widow alone with a Downs child, they felt it was a free for all. I like this company , I have used them 3 times and the first and last times were great ! Miles is the best mover there. So nice and thoughtful. Fast and all around great service. The office staff was very helpful when I ran into problems with trucks I was trying to reserve from u haul . Appreciate the help. I went back and forth about writing this review, and while I hate to do it, I feel it's necessary to help others avoid the stress that we had to deal with after hiring this company. My parents are both elderly, living in an assisted living facility. We needed to move them- on very short notice- from their two bedroom unit to two separate one bedroom units all within the same facility. Because it was short notice (we needed them moved next day) we didn't complain about the initial quote for $1000.00 for four hours of moving, although we felt it was quite high. We had moved them from another city one year prior for hundreds less, and that included travel time. We paid the $500.00 deposit, assuming we would pay the remaining $500.00 the next day once the move was complete and be done. Anyway, the day of the move, I see several invoices come through to my email. I was busy initially and thought they looked like duplicates of each other. Later that night I looked at them, only to find that my parents were charged another $1100.00 on top of what we had already paid for at total of over $1600.00 when we were quoted $1000.00. No one communicated to them or me that their move was going to cost more, in fact the initial discussion when I booked was that it probably would take less than four hours but they "have" to charge us the four hour minimum. When I talked to my Dad about it, he said the mover told him they charge for their time driving to the job, which was not discussed with us. I reached out to the owner (?) Marlene, who quickly refunded the driving time(a little over $300.00), although she didn't do it because it was the right thing to do, but because I was honest with her and told her I would be letting the assisted facility know what happened and she "didn't want a bad review". I asked her what would be done about the remaining $300+ dollars that were charged without our agreement.I brought up the fact that the movers spent an hour moving things to the wrong rooms, which was not my parents' fault. She said she would refund us (all while making it clear she didn't think she owed us anything and that we were being unreasonable expecting her to honor the quote we agreed to) but that my father speaking to them was apparently the reason they took five hours to do the job, and that if she refunded us we couldn't give a bad review. I thought about it for a while and the $300 is less important to us than the amount of stress that was caused to us by the situation. If you have older parents, please don't use this company. They didn't even end up moving everything from my parents old apartment and we had to complete to job that we ended up paying WAY more than we agreed to. It just felt like a very dishonest interaction, especially when senior citizens are involved. read more

I was moving out of a 1 bedroom apartment right after my mother passed away. They quoted me an $1800 estimate. Mod Movers requested that I send pictures; I guess to estimate the contents. When the movers arrived, they did not start right away because they said it was much more than they expected and spent almost two hours not packing while talking to the person at the office. Eventually, they sent out another man. Most of my stuff is thrown in boxes not packed. Additionally, they COMPLETELY FORGOT TO DO THE BATHROOM! Also, they won't pack any item from any drawers/spaces that have household chemicals. They did not inform me of that when I first contacted them or at the beginning of the move that they would not pack household cleaning products. They also left their garbage in the apartment. My husband had to go back to box and move the bathroom, three kitchen cabinets, and an outside storage closet. My final cost was $2236, which is almost 25% higher than their estimate. When I requested a partial refund for the bathroom, the office person said they will not refund because they sent out an extra third person, which was NOT at my request. An overall bad experience with Mod Movers. I recommend finding a moving company with experienced movers who know how to communicate and care for your belongings for your moving needs. read more

I called about a week prior to our move and spoke with Stephanie. She helped me review what was needed, and sent over an estimate promptly. The pricing was about what we expected, and we only had to provide a $100 deposit. She also called me the day before to confirm everything, and was very friendly on the phone. One the morning of our move, two guys arrived at the designated time. We had requested three people, and the estimated time for our move was seven hours, but one guy said they were booked for only two hours! We had already moved a lot of boxes ourselves, but I knew they would take more than three hours! I called Stephanie and asked about the situation, and she explained that there had been some confusion because one guy called in sick, and the guy was quoting from different paperwork. She was able to update our quote, and said she would follow up after the move was completed. The guys who came were super nice and very professional! I felt bad that the weather had heated up on our moving day, and made sure to provide the guys with water so they didn't pass out! These guys did an awesome job with everything, and were able to finish within the time that was quoted (even with one less person!) Our realtor had stopped by just as they finished, and we let him know that these guys did such a great job and to be sure to refer Mod Movers to future clients. Prior to installation, we coordinated with the warehouse team daily as they received, inspected and cataloged our items. For the installation process, the team showed up every morning with smiles on their faces and a clear set agenda. They were proactive about executing the tasks on hand and went above and beyond to get the job done in a timely manner. The entire team was professional, knowledgeable and passionate. Maybe you're experience would be better than ours. Overall we are somewhat satisfied with the services we received. We hired Mod Movers to move us from one home to another and store our items in between the move, fairly standard services needed. When the items were first picked up the moving crew wasn't fully aware of what I had communicated to the office staff so not all of the items could be picked up to be stored. They did accommodate me and allow me to drop them off to the warehouse which was nice, but it also would've been nice to not make another trip. Then when the items were delivered to the new house the moving crew was smaller than it was supposed to be which increased the amount of time I had to pay for because less workers, about half of our items didn't make it to the house (the moving crew had to go back to the warehouse and find everything else), 2 items weren't brought back in the second trip and had to be brought a few days later, and they broke a floor lamp somewhere between them picking it up, their storage, and them dropping it off. They tried to lie and say the lamp was already broken but I know it wasn't because it was used to stage the house we sold as part of a pair... I'm not sure at this point if I would or wouldn't hire mod movers again. read more

All around we had a great experience! Vanessa helped me obtain the initial quote, she was responsive and helped answer all of my questions, even when I had to change the initial service request. Stephanie helped me out day of when I had some follow up questions. She took the time to help me out and responded quickly, even after hours. Great customer service from the both of them! Nicholas and Carlos were the movers. They provided me with updates throughout the day of their arrival time. They did a great job and helped me out tremendously. They were in and out, with no trouble or issues at all. I will definitely be recommending them and hopefully using their services again soon. read more
