Tried this place for the first time! The staff was very helpful in explaining how they do things. Nice healthy options for pizza! My friend is vegan and there were options available for him as well. My husband and I ate the the MOD today in Livonia and I was SO impressed!!! The staff there was swamped with orders, yet their attention to detail and customer service was incredible! Mercedes called me by name the entire time she made my pizza, which made me feel so valued as a customer. She asked if she had added enough of each topping. This doesn't happen at other MODs!! Samantha was juggling SO many things, yet responded to my requests for refills, an extra lid and silverware with a happy, helpful attitude. I will say that MOD Pizza cares about customer service, but that doesn't make up for their terrible food. I have been to MOD Pizza three times at the Livonia location. Each time the pizza dough was undercooked. At this point I can safely conclude that they just don't know how to make pizza. As you can see in the photo, the crust is not cooked through. That white goopy looking stuff is a layer of raw dough sitting between the sauce and the very bottom portion of the crust that actually was cooked. It truly boggles the mind how anyone can undercook a thin-crust pizza, but MOD Pizza succeeded where no one else could. read more

Let me dispell a few rumors/other reviews that had me concerned. 1. Loud. Uhhhhhh yeah. It is totes loud. Bose speakers overhead? Yup. It is jimmy Johns-esque. Got it? 2. Cheap dough. Not sure on this one. We aren't in Sicily, people! Relax and add extra bacon. 3. Cheap toppings. Ok, it is chopped stuff with dough and cheese. This place has a great concept going on that's pretty trendy right now...fast fired pizzas. I liked the store atmosphere, the fact that they serve beer and wine is a plus and they have some really fantastic ingredients to top pies with. My only gripe would be that their dough is frozen but it still tasted quality. For a thin crust pie with solid, fresh ingredients this is a great spot to try out. Affordable and fast with a super friendly staff and a clean well run store. Their only lacking is that they don't have any other appetizers besides the garlic sticks. We eat at this Mod quite a bit and always get quality service and outstanding food. However... our last trip was not so great, the young lady making our pizza refused to add a little more cheese saying it would make the pizza soggy, when she put less than a normal amount on it to begin with. Then, our pizza was burned.. not just a touch over done but burned. I was so frustrated I asked the young man at the counter for his store number because I was going to complain to the manager I know. This young man inquired if there had been a problem, offered to remake our pizza or give us a coupon for a replacement and then refunded our money. I would have given 5 stars because the food and service is usually top notch exception to that rule dropped it to 4. Thank you to the Manager who values customer service and our business! It's TOO LOUD! They have Bose speakers hanging from the ceiling that are in direct competition with the 50 employees, it's kind of annoying. I came here for a Yelp event and LOVED my experience! I think the concept of "Made on Demand" pizzas is awesome especially when the ingredients are sourced well and there is such a variety of toppings you can add to your pizza. The prices are reasonable and the drinks are delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We started with the garlic stick and ended with cinnamon sticks. They were pretty delicious but the main fun surrounded the pizzas we were able to create! My sister had been raving about MOD when she came back from Seattle and I am so happy I got to experience it. You don't here often of a company that cares for their employees as MOD does. I am absolutely excited for the Northville location that is opening soon! read more

So I love a good pizza and have strong opinions about them. I rarely give a five star review but this place deserved it and more. Great hellos from staff upon entering let me know I was welcome and that they care about my needs. The place is cheerful, and well decorated. The menus is straight forward and generous. I ordered a mod pie with lots of great veggies and roasted garlic too! They were very generous with the toppings and explained how the line worked when I arrived. The food was fantastic. This is my new fav. The crust, the cheeses, the veggies, the meat, the entire thing was top notch. This is a joint where if you take leftovers home you better hide them well cuz your family will steal them. Better bring enough for everyone. Good place to get a quick pizza meal and to try a wild imagination on building your own pizza. They have a wide variety of toppings to pick from. Their pizza comes out nice but a little salty. I think it the crust. They also turn chewy at room temperature. So probably not a great choice for take out orders. read more

I adore brick oven pizza so I was really excited to try this place! Their pizzas are crispy but not dry and the best part is that you choose your own toppings and can put on as many as you want - all for about $8! I enjoyed the beer on tap as well as the berry lemonade. The servers were welcoming and knowledgeable, almost like a Zingerman's of pizza! For dessert I recommend the cinnamon strips. This place is really great! It is gonna be something big! For about $8 you can make a really awesome and large pizza. Everything fresh, no preservatives, unlimited toppings, house made dough, house made sauce, great personal experience, Oberon on tap, house made lemonade, and I could go on! Was shopping at Menards for some finishing trim the dorks at Home Deport can't ever seem to have, swung into this MOD Pizza location for a quick to go order. It was before what I assume would be the lunch rush...appx 1120am. Everyone yelled "Hello" when I walked in from back lot door. While looking at the menu on the wall for the first time ever, I was immediately asked if I had ever been there or not. Upon declaring, "No." The young lady from behind the counter said "AWESOME!!!" There was nothing on the menu that jumped out, so I decided to build my own. MOD does't have spicy red sauce for base, they said they can make it with hot pepper flakes. I passed. And went with the basic red sauce. The meats looked dry and crumbly. There were no anchovies!! WTF?! TRIGGERING!!! No pie place can be taken seriously if they fail to have anchovies. All I wanted was some roasted red pepper and some artichoke hearts. What I got was, for an 11" pie, was 3-4 pieces of each left dead center of the pie. It was thrown in the oven and in few minutes the theatrics of calling out a hot pizza was done and coming out of the fire was being commenced. For those of us from NYC and sic who are used to thin hand tossed (not pre made machine pressed) pie, we are used to and expect a bubble or two. No big deal, even if it gets a little charred from the heat, good to go. Leave it alone. Apparently at this MOD, bubbles are bad. The guy working the finishing/slicing counter showed the girl working the oven that bubbles are bad and then he used some tongs and began to smash them and pull them apart. He spent more time pulling cheese and making a mess of the pie rather than just leaving it be. After getting home and eating it, I noticed he failed to cut the pie all the way through. Pro Tip: leave the bubbles alone. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. Will I go back again? Maybe, but next time I will be more vocal about what I want and what I expect. It was my first time here so I let the process work itself. For $8.00+ after tax, who can really complain? Ciao. read more

MOD Pizza is great. I tried a 'MOD' size pizza which was 11" and I got the Tyler pizza. The Tyler pizza is like a mix of meat lover and Hawaiian with BBQ sauce on it. It was pretty good. It was about $7-8 and I think it was worth it. You can build your own or they have probably about a dozen others of recipes you can try out. If you've ever had Blaze pizza, it is pretty similar to that. I think it is one step higher up than Blaze though; the staff is very friendly and the prices are a little bit cheaper. Yo, Mod is dope. Especially this one! I was here a few days ago and it was pretty packed. I mean, at least half full of tables that had parties of 5 or more kind of packed. Never the less, the employees were like a well-oiled machine - taking orders, making sure they were accurate, handling customers' issues and doing all of that while still being polite. Awesomeness! My pizza has never sucked, either - I almost always get the mini with red sauce, extra mozzarella, romano, light pepperoni, mushrooms and pesto dipping sauce. So good. Every time is has been so good. My only stipulation would be that for this visit, the cashier honest to God didn't believe that I had a Yelp coupon. I pulled it up on my phone and showed to her, which warranted the response of, "Is that even real?" Uh, what? That's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 on this review. I cant believe we waited so long to try this place! Great price, service and pizza. We've been there twice and experienced great service. The MOD fired pizza is perfect for two. It's thinner (but not too thin) crust makes it perfectly filling. For some dessert try the cinnamon bread. It's basically a smaller, thin elephant ear without the grease. Ah, good food!! read more
