I would love to give this place five stars, but I can't help but feel slightly let down by this place. I love the product, the convenience of where it's located, and the atmosphere. However, I've had inconsistent experiences within their efficiency and customer service. When they're efficient, they're VERY efficient for making pizza. However, this is not always the case. I have had two incorrect orders, one being due to them not asking qualifying questions to better understand my wife's and my orders. She wanted cauliflower crust, I wanted mega-dough. Would they have known that had they asked? Yes! However, they did not, rather, they started throwing sauce on the pizza, and continued forward. I am really exhausted with lazy service, and pointing out their mistakes is too much effort when you have had a long day; that's why I'm at a quick service food and beverage restaurant in the first place. Another time that I went, my wife and I were the only people in line. Two employees where making pizzas for themselves (no problem, they have that right), but in doing so, they failed to acknowledge that we were even there. Another working employee had to ask if we had been helped. When she found out we were left waiting, she seemed embarrassed. She did everything correctly, but geez, same afternoon crew, same laziness. Tonight, we tried placing a mobile order. We placed the order at 6:15pm, and they said it wouldn't be done until 6:30pm. I arrived at 6:30pm, and the pizza wasn't ready. Nobody greeted me, nobody asked if I needed help, nobody even addressed my presence. It wasn't until 6:45pm that I had to follow-up on the status of my order that an employee mentioned that it was already out of the oven. I get busyness, but with a salty taste in my mouth from previous customer service interactions this was really frustrating. Again, the location is crazy convenient, I like their pizza, but their management needs to have a tighter grip on courtesy and efficiency. They need more staff and should show a priority to the people at the actual restaurant. They are so bogged down with online orders that you stand in line forever waiting for them to even look up and pay attention to the people standing right in front of them because all of their attention is for mobile orders. It took over 30 minutes and I was the 3rd person in line. ONLY 3 people on line and it still took that long! My entire lunch break was wasted standing in line waiting for service. Terrible experience with curbside pickup. Online order was supposed to be done in 17 minutes (according to the confirmation). After 10 extra minutes of waiting they had only one pizza ready and asked to wait 10 more minutes for the second one. No, thank you. 40 minutes of wait time and a cold pizza... I had hands down the worst MOD Pizza experience ever on the evening of 9/13. I have had many wonderful experiences at MOD when I lived in Gilbert, AZ and Pearland, TX but this MOD in Newcastle, WA has been a disappointment. Yesterday, it was so bad that I had to write a review. I ordered my pizza on the app at 7:07 pm. It was supposed to be ready at 7:22. They were busy, I get it. But, when paying customers inquire about their orders and complain, it is not appropriate to say, "We only have one person doing online orders and as you can see, we're busy." Seriously? The rude, non-existent customer service didn't end there. When I suggested they update their app because it said my order would be ready in 15 minutes, I was told, "I don't have any control over that." A better, more courteous and customer service-oriented response would have been to say something like, "I understand your frustration and I will relay your concerns to management." I was told twice that my order was being made then at around 7:45, I was told that they found my ticket. When others complained that people ordering in person were getting their orders and we were still waiting, it was dismissed or ignored One woman complained and said the wait was unacceptable. They told her as they did me that just one person was making online orders. About a minute later as the lady was still complaining, the woman making the pizzas started laughing uncontrollably. Whoever she is, she is in need of extreme training in customer service skills The guy working to box and plate the pizzas as they came out of the oven section was at least continuously apologetic. In addition to the extremely long wait, more than half of the pizzas that were coming out of the oven were burnt, mine included though not as bad as others. Many of the pizzas were black around the perimeter. A ten-year-old standing next to me even commented to her mom that the woman was burning a lot of the pizzas. We have loved MOD in the past but this location is extremely disappointing. You can't claim to have super fast pizza then take nearly an hour to produce them. If for some reason, you are slammed and backed up, then at least be courteous with customers as they way upwards of an hour for their "super fast pizza." It seemed like there was not even a system in place to make sure all orders (in-person, app, and Door Dash) are made. There was another woman next to me whose order was supposed to be ready at 7:10. They found her order paper with mine in a stack somewhere 35 minutes after her pizza was supposed to be ready. The environment was chaotic. This location is super convenient but next time, especially if I am ordering pizza between 5 and 8 pm, I may drive to Factoria, or just order from somewhere else. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. This is not the first time that we experienced extremely long waits at this location but it was definitely the worst. Placed a delivery order via Uber Eats as lunch time was full of meetings today. Ordered a couple build your own pizza and salad options. Definitely feel like you receive more bang for your buck if you are in person. Packing was a little messy - there was food on the bag and containers inside. Upon opening our food the feeling was underwhelming. Food was okay - not bad but not great. Overall my total was $30 for two items I could have received for a much lower price elsewhere and did not seem worth it. Will likely stick to other MOD locations in the future. read more

Put in an order online, came in to pick up the order 15 min later and pizza was not even made. No long queue, put the order in before the lunch rush of people. Finally, 40 minutes after my order was placed I picked up my pizzas. Not sure what happened but at the time MOD did not live up to its tagline "superfast". Thoroughly disappointed and had made a decision internally that I would not return to this location. As I finally picked up my pizzas, the gentleman at the oven (I think he was the manager) asked me to wait and grabbed a free pizza coupon and apologized for the long wait. This kind gesture is so important for businesses small and large. It acknowledges to the customer of wrong doing, it creates another opportunity for the customer to return win back more business and creates customer loyalty. read more

If you want to wait 25 min after promise time and then get a slightly warm pizza then this is the place. Waited around 25 min after arriving at promise time with a over the phone order. Pizza was clearly done 15 min prior, but they didn't communicate that it and it just sat there. Also on top of all of that, the pizza wasn't even correct. When asked about it told it would be a bit more. The order was half and half, and it was done with all the toppings on the entire pizza. If you have time to waste, want a mildly warm wrong pizza then they will serve you great! read more

This is by far the worst location I have been to. The staff is sloppy, unorganized and always undercook the pizza. They never cut my pizza all the way and it's so irritating. Ever go to a chain restaurant and get consistently good food and good service. Well I did until I went to this particular MOD. Apparently making a Caesar salad is a real chore and god forbid you add chicken and onions. It's not like the place was busy unless you think a line of one as busy. Food has been as good as any other MOD I've been to but service varies. Of the 4-5 times I've been, 2 have included really rude, dismissive workers who rang me up at the register and sighed when I asked for a pizza box. Please smile, make eye contact, and don't treat the customer like they're a nuisance. Also - I'm all for coworker camaraderie, but not at the expense of attention to customers. But then! There have been amazingly kind and down to earth workers who are so diligent about greeting and saying bye to everyone. They deserve credit. All in all, standard and reliable for a quick meal that doesn't make you feel greasy or bloated. Also they seemed to have fixed their arctic overblown AC from my first 2 visits, so yay. My wife and I have always liked MOD Pizza and in-fact we have always gone there before our sons Friday football games. Saturday(9/28) we tried the Newcastle location for a lunch around 1:00pm and both ordered our favorite pies. Both pizzas were under cooked, and the cheese was not completely melted. We both left disappointed as we had been craving pizza for a few days. The staff appeared to be busy, so I didn't take the time to discuss it with the staff. Why have I waited so long to visit this location? It is convenient to our house and everyone was extremely friendly, fast service, clean restaurant and the food was delicious. A new place to bring the kids where it will not matter if they're a little noisy. With music playing in the background it's a great atmosphere for a fun family dinner. read more

The best MOD Pizza location I've been to! Special shoutout to Jennifer who I am I sure is a manager or not. But if she is not, SHE NEEDS TO BE! I placed an online order and came to pick it up about half an hour later. She was the one to hand me my pizza and before I even said anything, she noticed that my pizza was cold and offered to remake it for me. This is all without me even saying a word. All this to say, I applaud Jennifer's excellent customer service and highly recommend she be promoted or continue to train others to have as great customer service as she does! My son, daughter and I went to Mod recently. Ev helped us out and he was amazing. I work in food service so I appreciate attention to detail and food safety. Ev was engaging, kind and very accommodating to my son's food allergies. He made sure to wash his hands, get a clean pizza tray, grab the fresh ingredients from the fridge, and a new ladle for the sauce. All of this with smile on his face. Our first time at this location and only my second time eating at MOD pizza. We typically frequent Pagliacci, which I should've done tonight! MOD in a nutshell: Poor customer service! Please train the employees how to speak with customers. Tone goes a long way! My daughter asked what size pizzas are offered and the kid replies "mini, mod.." and whatever the last option as I had to stop him and say we've never been here before can you please explain what the sizes are and how many people they feed. This should be the common response not the specialty names of the sizes. we had to keep running to the side wall to see the menu... Strongly suggest there being a menu on the wall up above where the food is prepared. Then when my daughter asked for ham and pineapple, the kid at the counter rudely says, "what?! you mean Hawaiian?!" Well, we would mean Hawaiian if that was an actual menu item but that is not on your menu therefore she was requesting the toppings that she preferred on her pizza and did not need to be corrected. That aside, The pizza turned fine. My salad on the other hand could've used some work. Will definitely not be returning back to this location. read more

Barely a 3 but bumped it up from 2 because we love the pizza and my preschooler loves the "red drink" but out of our 4 pizzas and salad we ordered, the salad was not made to order-- asked to not have tomatoes added, one cauliflower crust pizza was blackened and dark brown completely around edges, and Cilantal was added instead of basil and heavily so.....this was after pur previous visit where my member number wasn't scanned before she rang it up and she hand entered $12 of the $52 for rewards. Also, the man boxing our pizza cut his finger on the box and continued boxing with an open wound....please hire more people for your heavy shifts so such mistakes arent made. read more

When I walked in, the girl who was making my salad was extremely rude and short with me. I asked for artichokes on my salad and she put everything else on it besides the one thing I asked for. Her attitude was horrible and I felt like a burden for even asking for a salad. When I got to the end where they fire the pizzas, a shift manager asked me how my experience was and I told him about the girl I ordered from. He then apologized and asked if there was anything he could do to make it better, and was extremely kind. He turned my night around and had such a fun, friendly demeanor despite my complaint and being busy. He took the time to listen to my concerns and made my experience pleasant. Love MOD Pizza however this location has terrible parking, and they seem more interested in getting door dash orders out than calling out the names of people inside waiting for their pizza. I love MOD Pizza and am happy this one opened so near us. The staff is cheerful and fun, as typical of MOD, the pizza was cooked perfectly also. I knocked off a star because at 7pm the place was a mess! The floor, the tables, the drink area, and behind the counter. I saw many people wiping off their own tables before sitting. I sat on one half of the seat because the other half of the bench and table are covered in grease. Now it's 8:15 and there are only a few customers and still no one is cleaning the mess. read more

I've never walked into ANY type of restaurant and stood there for more than 5 minutes without being acknowledged. That is, until we went to MOD this weekend. We were with out of town friends that had never been there. We entered, checked out the menu, I explained the ordering process, then we waited. And waited. One employee was making crusts, two we're making pizzas, one was tending the pizza oven, and we were the only customers in line to order!! NOT ONE employee looked up or said one word. We stood there ready to order and were totally ignored. We left and hit the sushi place next door. Not only were we totally unimpressed, our guests said they will never try the new MOD near their home in AZ. It's not because we were not greeted, we went back in after we ate to talk to the manager. Not exactly pizza in my book - more like cracker bread with a few toppings - very light and flavorless - some restaurants call it pizza but it smells like marketing to sell little rounds of flatbread. Save your pennies and head to some great pizza spots on the eastside. Sure hope the owners are supporting the community with a portion of their huge profits because the margins on their "pizza" must be big! read more
