Clumped toppings, not enough sauce - especially when the sauce was spread out only to 2/3 out from center leaving a wide swath of just dough. Service was absolutely pathetic. The staff resembled the undead, and they were just about as engaging. 1. We waited for several minutes to order while they did nothing and wouldn't acknowledge us. 2. I ordered a Tristan pizza which is vegetarian, but I received a sausage/onion one instead. I didn't even bother to get it fixed as my friend would have finished his meal by the time it was ready. Tried the Mod for the first time on a Friday lunchtime. The indoor space is basic, with metal and formica tables and chairs. There are six beers on tap, offering something for everyone. The menu has four basic sections: starters, salads, sandwiches, and pizza. Oddly, of the 13 sandwich offerings, not a single one was veggie friendly. I opted for the greek pizza and it was very good: thin crust with lots of tasty toppings. The pizza comes in one size: 12". I'm a big guy with a big appetite and I still had some to take home. The service was excellent. It seems that we all showed up at exactly noon, and the place went from empty to packed in 20 minutes. Still, the servers managed to take care of all of us with efficient and friendly service. I'll be back when we're in the mood for pizza and beer. My family and I love MOD Pizza! I really enjoy any make-your-own pizza places, and I find that the pizzas here are reasonably priced (no extra charge for all the toppings!) and they don't skimp on toppings if you get a ton (based on my personal experience at this location). I always get their normal 11" pizza with red sauce and mozzarella / parmesan. Most recently, for toppings, I got the green bell peppers, mushrooms, red onions, spinach, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, and pork chorizo (recent addition I believe). I also love that they have Mike's hot honey as one of their drizzles as I am a big fan of honey on pizza! Overall, I've been to this location several times now and have been pleased with my pizza every time. Both of my parents also enjoy MOD since they can customize their own pizzas, and we all end up with super different toppings and drizzles based on what we like. read more

Mod Pizza is a cool concept for a pizza restaurant. It's basically the same as Blaze Pizza and Your Pie. You can put as many toppings on the pizza as you want, and they bake it up fresh in a wood-fired pizza oven. It's definitely not the best pizza that I've had, but I do like being able to be so creative with the pizza. The price is also a very good for what you get, and they keep the place very clean, although I did see a dead cockroach on the floor which was a bit concerning. read more

MOD is a good option if you want a quick, affordable pizza. We stopped in for lunch, I ordered the caspian with pineapple and a lemonade and my husband ordered the dillon james. Both were MOD size, mini (6-inch) and mega dough (11-inch thick crust) are the other size options available. I was going to do a mini with a salad but did not since a side salad was overpriced at $6.47. The pizza was good and the service was friendly. My pizza was ready in 10-15 minutes, and the best part was bypassing the huge line to pick my order up in the to-go area. I created my own pizza and of course had to try the famous cauliflower crust. The crust did NOT disappoint! I really could not tell and felt somewhat less guilty eating it. Even my boyfriend couldn't tell the difference. Their sausage had a little kick but definitely not too spicy either. I'd recommend limiting your toppings to 3-4 so the pizza isn't weighed down too much. My coupons was good for the Mod size and I chose the Tristan, but then started getting excited about all the toppings I could add for free. I added roasted garlic, jalapeños, green peppers, and spicy sausage. I loved the pesto drizzle when it was done cooking. Sadly, when I started eating it, I realized the middle was a little doughy and needed to be in the oven a little longer. The staff was very helpful with assisting my friend in creating her own deliciousness. I tried the white sauce instead of red sauce for the first time and truly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is always bright inside of MOD and the staff is generally pretty friendly and upbeat. You can have pizza or salad or both. Breadsticks or even a dessert pizza. So this was my first time giving them a try and all I can say is that they were ok. The staff was pleasant but the food was just so so. I ordered the Dominic and my friend ordered the Lucy and some cheese garlic bread and we swapped a piece of pizza. I found the that Dominic really lacked flavor and I was disappointed. They also offer salads, shakes, garlic strips and cinnamon strips. We were both comfortably full after our pizzas, so did not add anything else. And enjoy choosing as much as you want, whatever you want for your very own personal pizza. We aren't talking pizza hut mega crust. We're talking the crispy thin crust. The kind that won't make you feel like you at a loaf a bread at one sitting. Went here on a weekday night with a mid-sized group (6 of us) around 9.15 pm. The place was empty and we found ample parking right outside. The guys who took our orders were friendly but, boy do they need to up their speed. The service was extremely slow (I understand it was end of the day and all that but, even to convey the simplest of things it felt like eons). Typically, at such DIY pizza places, the service is super fast. I have been to this place before and I'm not sure if I remember the service being this slow. The location was easy to find and is right near Harris Teeter. I was attending an event that MOD pizza hosted, so we had the place rented to ourselves for a few hours. You can make your own pizza or salad by choosing toppings and sauce, or you can pick from their pre-made selections. I had the pre-made Dillon James pizza, which is similar to a Margherita pizza. It was delicious and the perfect size (4 slices, similar to a personal pan pizza). They cook the pizza on spot and it only takes a few minutes. The prices seemed to be slightly high to me, but you can't deny the quality. The establishment itself was clean and the employees were awesome and friendly. We went in to pick up takeout. There were 7-8 employees there. When we walked in, several employees had their face masks hanging around the neck, and they pulled them up over the mouth when we walked in. Even though most employees had face masks, none of them were wearing it properly, or at all. Most had it over the mouth with the nose exposed, which kind of defeats the purpose. But a few just left it hanging around the neck. These were people handling food. At least two wore no face covering at all, and one of these was the person at the register who did checkout. Some employees handled food with bare hands, and no one washed their hands while we were there. We reheated our food after getting home so any germs would be killed. I made my own pizza. I had the 11" Thin Crust. For the toppings, Spinach, Olives, Red Onions, Mushrooms, Green Peppers, Garlic, Tomatoes, Pepperoni, and Chicken. Sometimes it is hit or miss. But on average the pizza is good. I like the thin crust. It's not as filling as the thick crust, but that's alright the goal is to eat not get fat. I like this pizza better than places like Domino's, Papa John's, and Marco's Pizza. The best pizza is Pizza Papalis, which is a deep dish chicago style pizza in Michigan.
