In Olde Raleigh Village near the intersection of Duraleigh & Edwards Mill

TLDR: They shorted me an order of Fries. Check your bag before leaving! I ordered online, which has a Combo Option: Burger, Fries, Drink. Added a few other things and a second order of fries. Seems like they aren't used to the online Combo because they only gave me one order of fries. They way the printed order displays is different than the regular slips they use for in-house orders, probably causing confusion with the cooks. The bun for my burger was wet and soggy. Notice how the Yelp rating for this specific Char-Grill location is at least a half star lower than the other locations? There's probably a good reason for that...

I got a cheeseburger without the bun and it was PERFECT!

My husband has been here a few times already after a co-worker (highly) recommended it. So we came here for Mother's Day dinner after playing at Laurel Hills playground. Seems like a simple old-fashioned burger joint. Menu is limited to burgers, dogs, grilled chicken sandwich, BBQ sandwich, fries and shakes. To order, you fill out an order slip and put it in a slot. Wait time was not too bad. Might have seemed longer to me because I had an antsy 18 month-old waiting with me. The food was great! My husband and I got burgers and our kids got hot dogs. The burgers were delicious! I didn't try a bite of hotdog- the neon red color kind of took me by surprise but the kids seemed to enjoy them. The fries were hot and crispy! For 4 meals, it was around $25! Not bad! We'll definitely return!!!

Please stop under cooking the burgers. Multiple times I've received super under cooked almost raw beef. Step your game up please!

I really enjoy the flavor of Char-Grill burgers. Plus ordering on paper is a creative way to do it.

Service could be better, but it's not bad. Decor and the bar were very cool and well designed parts of the restaurant. We ordered the Alabama Slammer and Classic Cheeseburger with truffle fries. We received regular fries at first, but were able to get what we originally ordered (truffle fries) after talking to the servers. If you order the truffle fries, make sure to grab a fork or extra napkins (or both)! Eating them gets real messy. Overall, a nice, casual burger spot in Raleigh with great fries.

Located in the newer section of North Hills, CowBar is a more sophisticated rendition of their Morgan Street Food Hall location. Very similar with maybe a few extras, you order up front, get a number, self-service soft drinks and condiments in the back and wait for you eats. Pick up your meal at the counter and it's time to eat! I did their popular truffle burger with fries Italiano and OMG! The burger was amazingly tender, rich and delicious. Tender grilled beef, smoky Gouda cheese, caramelized onions and truffle flavoring throughout. The skin-on fries with shaved parm, rosemary and garlic made for the perfect side. While the bar is not open yet, it looks like CowBar North Hills will have some beers and drinks to go with your burger. Overall I am super happy with what I experienced at CowBar. While the food is a touch pricey, it's totally worth the money and a better option to dine here, versus a crowded, noisy spot. Enjoy, Raleigh. You may have the best burger in the Triangle with CowBar!

The sauce was amazing and the perfect balance of vinegar and taste. The brisket has the option of fatty, mixed, or no fat. The mix had a lot of fat, I wouldn't order it again. Our waitress was kind and went over the menu with us. Our orders: side of fries Well-fed (4 proteins and 2 sides) 2 of us shared Burnt ends plate with 2 sides We know that NC barbecue is NOT SC barbecue but anywho, the portion size was not what we expected for the Well-Fed nor did it match previous photos we'd seen. Our food was cold but tasty except for the macaroni and cheese, my daughters hated it. We politely let our waitress know and she took our plate back and the kitchen in turn, provided us with a whole new plate of food. We were ready to dig in but this time, the barbecue lacked flavor and my daughters were so disappointed and were ready to leave. I definitely appreciated the kitchen for trying to make it right but I don't think we'll be returning on our next trip to Raleigh.
