I ordered a Scillian pizza through Uber eats (pickup) with ham, onion, peperoni, and cheese. The time noted for pickup was 9-15 minutes after placing the order. I arrived at Rudino's in Southern Pines at approximately 10 min after ordering and waited almost another 30 minutes to receive my order. When the hostess brought the pizza, she said they messed up when cutting or slicing the pizza and threw another slice in a to-go box as though that would suffice in making it better. I thought this was absolutely absurd - the slice was nothing more than an old piece of another pie that was sitting under a warmer for probably hours and since it was close to closing threw it my way - it was disgusting. It appeared (see photo) they either dropped the pizza or took a bite out of it. When I ordered the Sicilian pizza, I thought it was going to be the traditional thick, deep crust, two inch plus pizza. I was perplexed and very disappointed to see it was nothing more than a traditional round pie with a taste that was overpowering with salt, the cheese was stale, there was no sauce, and very little meat. I feel it was deceptive to advertise and serve a Sicilian pizza masked as a round traditional pie that I can have ordered from Dominoes much cheaper. I was disappointed when walking in and having to wait as long as I did while observing the staff spend more time on their cell phones and gossiping with one another. I would think the least they should do is pull the Sicilian pizza from the menu until such time you can actually make one like Vera Pizza & Grill, Café Vesuvio in Sanford, SoPies in Southern Pines, Brooklynn Pizza, etc. I sent an email and tried calling Rudino's to discuss but they refuse to reply back. read more

I don't recommend the pizza, it's is flavorless and loaded with cheese. My toddler nearly choked on the cheese it was so much. I'm not exaggerating. The grinders however, are amazing! The bread is light, fluffy and crispy. I love the layer to light cheese melted on the top layer. My baby ended up helping me with my sandwich instead of eating his pizza. Next time I'll just let him eat some of my grinder and avoid the pizza. I expected crinkle cut fries but got seasoned shoe strings instead. Great place for a quick, satisfying lunch! We called to order takeout while in the plaza. At first I was looking at the wrong menu. On google, be sure to search for the Rudino's in Garner menu. This family-owned restaurant is different from the Rudino's sports bar chain. The menu offers a variety of options. We wanted a light lunch so we chose two grinders. The chicken ranch club and honey mustard chicken. Our order was ready in about 15 minutes. Everything was accurate and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how filling the sandwiches were. I enjoyed the honey mustard chicken grinder, it just needed more flavor. The fries were crisp and seasoned. Overall we enjoyed our meal and would eat here again! read more

I can wait to go back. Seriously I have the next two things already selected if I can override my desire to have another Reuben grinder. My husband had a calzone and it was plenty for lunch and leftover lunch the next day in the air fryer. The fires are crinkle cut baked. Tasty enough. The next time I am going to get a club grinder, then an Italian, and then a calzone with spinach , feta, and mushrooms!! Then back to the Reuben!! This is like a grinder shop we had in Michigan. I have to agree with the others who say this place is just mediocre. The young man working the cashier was very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. The prices are fair. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and 6 mild wings. The cheese pizza was alright, the cheese pull was great, but overall it was just lacking flavor. The wings were okay as well. Zero stars would be better but you have to give them 1... Put us on hold at 20 mins before closing and left it there. GPS says we're 6 minutes away. With the 2 stop lights it's more like 10. We were driving to the Reaturaunt and decided to hang up and place the order in line since they wouldn't allow us to place it on the way. When we arrived the doors were locked. I'm aware it's not fun to have people coming in before closing but I teach my crews to serve them with a smile on their face. No telling when you'll get the $20 tip at the end of the night. This used to be my childhood favorite place but it's really gone down hill the last year or so. This was the mail in the coffin for me. I found this place to be just okay. Nothing special and likely not a place I would return to. We viewed their menu through the mobile site, and the "download menu" link. We ordered a buffalo chicken pizza (meh, just okay), a meat monster (this one was good), a kids cheese slice (looked good), and a cheesy garlic bread. The kids slice was supposed to come with a drink (thats what was advertised on the menu in the "Just for Kids" area) however they made us pay for the slice and juice separately when my husband went to pick up the order. I was all excited when I got here to go to a buffet and eat at 12:50 p.m. which is right in the middle of lunch I should have known something was wrong because there was only 10 people in the whole restaurant. I paid $8.50 including a drink. I went to the buffet line and there was only a couple of pizzas left and of those there was probably four pieces on each. There were five empty Pizza Pans sitting there that had been eaten and not replenished with anything. I got two pieces went to my table and ate it. The pizza was not even warm and did not taste good. I was ready to go up and get more but noticed another customer standing up there asking them will they'll be more pizza put out and the person behind the counter told him yes they are going. I waited 5 minutes and there was no pizza put out nor did there seem to be any concern about the buffet by the staff. I got tired of waiting and walked to the front to the two people running the place and politely said to them "I obviously have made a mistake by coming to eat at this place" and left. They were not even phased didn't even respond so I just chalked it up to experience and quietly walked out knowing that I'll never eat at this place again. I am sitting in front of the restaurant right now its 1:10 in the afternoon and since I've been in my vehicle writing this review I have watched every one that was in there leave except for two people.... that's not a good sign to have a business like that with a lot of traffic around here and no one to eats there however Mojo's Grill next door has a line. my best friend and I have been so disappointed since Marcos in Hope Mills quit making calzones. I saw that Rudino's, not far down the road from Marcos, offered calzones and we're open late. We headed to Rudino's's and ordered a pepperoni and cheese calzone with extra sauce. The food was made in a reasonable amount of time And the menu prices seemed reasonable. This boils down to personal taste. I did not like the marinara sauce. There was too much of one seasoning that overpowered the taste of the whole calzone and marinara sauce. My best friend agreed, as well. The four stars that I gave were actually for customer service and cleanliness and atmosphere. The wait staff was wonderful and the restaurant was clean and the food smelled amazing. I do recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves a sports bar type restaurant with a friendly staff. read more

Garner is the land of national chains when it comes to casual dining so this regional favorite is a nice change of pace. They do a pizza buffet and lunch, offer daily specials, and have nice full-size pizza specials in the evenings. The grinders are great for lunch on a cold day. Reunited and it taste so good...... after a few years of being apart we finally met once again and it was like i was in high school all over again. i really forgot just how good the pizza at this joint really was... and got a swift re-education on the subject. With the assistants of mind-numbingly fresh flavor from the toppings and the tangy zip of the sauce, the spicy sausage,and salty olives all play a symphony on the taste buds that the cheese elegantly dances in tune with. OK I'm not trying to sell you a pizza or anything it was just that good, they also have an all you can eat buffet so you can pig out with the family on Sundays and your wife can have tha day off. I ate at Rudino's recently and I am not sure what it is but I just don't like their pizza very much. I am convinced it tastes the way it is supposed to just different than what I am familar with but I just can't put my finger on what it is. The last time I went we got a Philly Sub and that was just not very good at all. The prices are reasonable but I am just not a fan of their food. Atmosphere 4 - Rudiono's has a pretty nice atmosphere plenty of big screen TVs to watch sports on and a well laid out dining room. Service 3 - The service is mainly counter service but I have never gotten bad service. The staff are friendly and courteous. Cost/Value 3 - For what we got I thought the prices was quite reasonable. Food 2 - The food we got was just not to my liking. Their Philly subs were just not very good. Their pizza is not bad. Their is something in their pizza, maybe the sauce or the dough, that has an unfamiliar taste to it. I ordered my pizza with meatballs and I expected to see meatballs on the pizza but instead the meatballs were all sliced flat like a peperoni. I found that kind of odd as well. I will say this though they were not messing about with the extra cheese. In the end even though the pizza had an odd taste to me and meatballs were flat the pizza was gooey and cheesy. I guess I'm just a weirdo. I haven't had any of the incredible pizza bar that Rudino's hosts during lunch. I only order takeout, and when I do, I choose the grinders. They're fantastic. A wide array of toppings on great, toasted bread, with plenty of meat and cheese. There's simply no reason to even look at anything else when the sandwiches are this good. This was the worst experience I believe I've ever had at a restaurant. Been here before and the food and service was at most subpar. Then tonight I came in with my family and they refused to serve us, I asked if the party was too large then we could sit separately and the host let us know that management said that we could not eat there at all. Let me start off by saying that the staff here is really nice and the pizza is pretty darn good. I usually hit this place up once every few months at lunch for the pizza buffet. The buffet bar is a bit small, but the selection is good. They even have a few oddities like pizza with goat cheese sprinkled on it (at least that is what i think it is) but whatever it is.. it is delicious! With that being said though, there is one flaw. The sign says they open at 11:00.. i usually get there by 11:30 and have to eat quickly so i can go back to work, but the buffet bar is always empty! You got to wait for them to bring it out. Went to an end of season party for my son's baseball team at this location. I was thinking it would be more like location I go to on Tryon road in Cary. Not even close. Moving here from New York I didn't expect good pizza anywhere really but this is just atrocious. They had no idea what a white slice was. Or mozzarella sticks for that matter. Which I guess I can understand to a point but the girl behind the counter was really stupid. I feel like you should at least know what's on your menu and what's not. The only good thing they did was their garlic bread with melted cheese on top but I ordered it twice and the second time I have no idea what they even gave me. I ordered takeout French dip sandwich and when I got back to the office all the Dipping juice leaked out all of the sandwich made the bread soggy so I went back and asked for more dipping juice and the manager instead made me a whole new sandwich no charge because I told him what happened. Well we weren't sure what a grinder was but learned quickly after experiencing a huge, decedent, meaty hoagie! What were you thinking? ;) The peppered chicken in the "18 inch" Philly was awesome quality and the bread was perfectly covered in cheesy goodness. The veggies included were: lettuce,mushrooms and green peppers. We opted up for the fries which were a dollar extra a side instead of getting the free two bags of chips it came with. Also came with two small drinks. It came to 19 bucks all said and done and Our stomachs are quite satisfied.
