Let's start with the Steak and Cheese Sub, because credit where credit is due: thank you for not calling this a Philly cheesesteak. Seriously. That restraint alone deserves recognition. Too many places around here slap "Philly" on anything with beef and melted cheese, and that's just culinary misinformation. Ownership clearly knows better, and I respect that. That said... the sub itself is pretty mid. It's mostly bread and mayo, with the absolute minimum amount of meat and cheese required to legally call it a steak and cheese. I get it--beef prices are high--but at some point the ratio gets a little absurd. I'm not asking you to import rolls from Del Co. or pretend this is South Philly, but you can do better. I've lived up and down the East Coast, including Philly and the DC area. In the DC area even a basic steak and cheese usually comes with a solid portion of meat, white American cheese, fried onions, and a roll that actually holds up. What I got here was very little meat, melted cheese, a lot of mayo, no fried onions, and a roll that feels like it came straight out of a Food Lion bag. Raise the price a bit and fix the ratios--this sub needs an overhaul. Now, the cheese pizza is a different story. This is classic Greek-style pizza (Google it if that term is new to you), and it's actually pretty good. Definitely a step up from most national chains. I loved the garlic-forward cheesiness and the pillowy soft crust. The sauce is subtle--I had to double-check that it was even there--but honestly, that works for me. I like cheese, I like garlic, and this delivered. The pizza is also cheap, which makes total sense given the location near NC State. This feels like the kind of pizza you'd get at a school pizza party, or that ever-so-special work pizza party that shows up instead of a raise or bonus. And I mean that in the best possible way. It's basic, no-frills, filling, and worth your time if that's what you're looking for. Final verdict: The pizza is solid, affordable, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. The steak and cheese... not so much. Fix the meat-to-bread ratio and this place could be a lot better overall. read more

The people here are very helpful and friendly. Excellent service. The facility was mostly clean and organized. The food is okay. I tried the lasagna and wasn't overly pleased. I have ordered pizza from here several times and was happy with what received. I would rate the lasagna a 6.2 out of 10. I would rate the pizza a 7.1 out of 10. I'll start by saying the staff was very friendly and personable. But it takes much more than that to be successful. Perhaps they're not so worried since this place has been here forever and they do not seem to have a lack of business. For those of you ordering through a delivery app that has never been inside the store, it's beyond gross. Literally everything is covered in a sticky film. I had to use the restroom so bad but I was afraid. For one I had a toddler with me and he wants to touch everything so considering how absolutely disgusting the front of house was, I could only imagine the state of the restrooms. We dined in because again, I have a toddler and I can't order food, sit and wait on it and then try to drive home with him screaming and hungry. To start, after waiting a good 15-20 minutes they tried to give me someone else's take out order. I thought maybe they forgot I was dining in (they asked) so I politely returned it to the counter. I proceeded to wait another 5 minutes and they came to my table to ask me what I ordered. I could tell they forgot about my order and rushed it because the cheese wasn't even melted on the pizza. Forgetting an order isn't a huge deal to me since I have worked in the industry and when you're short staffed and busy, it happens. This entire time my toddler is getting up and down off the booth seat and the windows are so large and I can't even begin to describe how dirty, he kept wanting to look out the windows and touching these ledges that were absolutely caked. I think I aged two years waiting on my food. I caught a glimpse of the kitchen and noticed under the equipment was pitch black. I don't think they've moved it and cleaned underneath in years. They must personally know the health inspector. I can't understand how they're able to operate. The tea urn also randomly started dumping tea into the floor. A staff member came out with a mop and cleaned it up promptly but I have never seen a tea urn just burst open like that Now the food: I got him two slices and a drink. They were huge slices so a good value with a drink for 7.99. I got a steak and cheese. I was excited that it came with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato in addition. Most places charge extra for that. Food came and the slices had so much cheese my son wouldn't eat it. I never asked for extra cheese (that's an option for free, as is any one extra topping). I understand most places think they're "hooking you up" and assume everyone loves cheese when they do that. But you couldn't even taste the sauce from the amount of cheese. My steak and cheese had enough meat and cheese but was seriously lacking in vegetables. There were two half slices of a Roma tomato, 2 banana pepper rings (which I subbed out for the mushrooms) and a small amount of lettuce. The fries were those fries with the extra breading to make them crispy. I personally can't stand that type of fry but people seem to enjoy them, so maybe I'm weird. I really liked the bread, it was light and crispy. Over all my sandwich wasn't terrible but I was so uncomfortable being in that environment and wanting to leave. But stayed longer than I wanted because my son was enjoying my fries and wouldn't eat his pizza so I wanted him to get full before getting back on the road. You know I was super hungry if I ate raw vegetables out of that place. I wouldn't recommend anyone eating something from there that didn't come out of a deep frier or oven to kill whatever bacteria is all over that place. They need to shut it down for a few days and scrub the absolute sh!t out of it. Excuse my language but the lack of cleanliness in that establishment is offensive and foul. I see someone commenting on the cleanliness of this place 11 days ago and I wonder if they're blind. I can't believe I just read that. I know I'm not tripping. The place was clean. It smelled so good!! The service was quick and excellent! The fries and mozzarella sticks were hot, fresh and incredibly good! The pizza came out hot and served on hot pans, that kept the pizza hot the entire time! The pizza sauce wasn't too thick and was a tad sweet which I loved. The dough was so good! I ordered the 12" sub special through grub hub....grubhub periodically offers free delivery but this place (as I found out) doesn't deliver for free! I ordered a philly cheesesteak and it came with fries and a drink in the special...to meet the order minimum I added potato wedges. An hour later the food arrives and the guy has the potato wedges and sub but no drink or fries. Seeing as the only reason I got potato wedges was to meet my order minimum I felt like I should call the place back and ask for my fries and drink. The guy was quickly apologetic and another 30 minutes after my complaint the guy brought fires and a soda. Unfortunately by then I was full with my delicious philly and my equally delicious potato wedges. I tried a french fry and it really didn't stack up against their wedges at all. I can't really speak for the cleanliness of the place as I have never been there but overall it was a positive eating experience and I would order from them again. My husband is not a fan of marinara, so we were glad to find this option at a local restaurant that delivers. Since moving down here from NY several years ago, I couldn't really find pizza with that authentic italian sauce and dough taste. Instead, I became an avid Papa Johns pizza eater. I first found out about this place from a flyer that was posted on my front door. I ordered the philly cheese steak along with a pizza delivery and it was just okay, but I didn't care for it too much. A couple of years went by, and I happened to stop by the store and ordered a pepperoni slice. It tasted so much better. Now every time I happen to drive through that area, I will stop to get a slice.
