This place felt like the Subway of pizza with their way of putting your pizza together. You get you paper thin crust and work you way down the line adding toppings. The topping and sauce selections were good but the final product not so good. The crust was so thin that after baking it turned in to a cracker. We kept our toppings simple to start off since we've never tried this place yet. But that didn't help the pizzas at all. I'm not sure if it was their portions, freshness, or dough, but the flavors did not mix well. I tried not just my pizza but my daughters and wife's pizza and they all tasted off. While the food is satisfactory, those employees need some SERIOUS training in how to treat customers. I have had two horrible customer service experiences here. The first, when it was my turn to order, and the employee asked for my name, I gave her my name. She responded with, "What kind of fucking name is that?" I responded that it's Norwegian, that it is only 5 letters long (which it is), and that I don't have another first name. She rolled her eyes. Tonight, when I came in to get a pizza, some garlic strips, and a milkshake after traveling for the majority of the day, the man making my pizza laughed at me. He looked my body up and down, said "Is THIS"-gesturing to my order- "all for YOU?" -gestures back to my body- When I replied with a "yes," he laughed again. I don't think I need to say how this is a completely unprofessional way to behave as an employee. Management, get off your ass and discipline your employees. I will not be returning. read more

I have never tried MOD before today but had heard good things so decided to give it a try. First, love the way it looks in here. Open, clean and fun. Second, the staff is very friendly and upbeat...with a greeting to EVERY customer who enters. I love that the menu has some premade options in case you don't want to create your own. But I think the best part is that you CAN create your own pizza with any toppings you want. They have a ton of choices...the possibilities seem limitless. The prices seem really good and it's great that everyone in your family can choose their own options. I will definitely return and would recommend it to everyone! Yummy! I ordered a custom pizza and it was great. We ordered 3 pies to feed our family of 5. The 11 month old twins enjoyed the maddy and so did our 4 yr old . my custom pizza was very good looking. Food was good, but every single person in that place had a nasty scowl on their face. I had pretty much decided after I was corrected on my pronunciation of something (I am from the Mid-West and we say things differently) that we were not coming back, as this was totally inappropriate, but this was clinched by the fact that every item I asked for on my salad was meant with a sigh. As if I were asking her cut off a limb. Then as we were paying, one of the cooks?? who had open-holes at the top of his nose, walked all around the food talking to his coworkers. My first impression of MOD pizza started with the website, which was extremely informative and to the point. It had a classic feel and was easy to navigate plus they give you a time for pick up so you're not waiting on your pizza. I arrived at the suggest time and waited in line for about 3 minutes and watched them make my online ordered pizza in front of me, which defeated the reason for ordering online. I had to leave my husband in the car, who was recovering from knee surgery. I was extremely upset. In the mist of my waiting after speaking with the cashier, I went outside to check on my husband and I'm assuming they called my name during that time frame. I waited there staring at the young man making the pizza for about 10 more minutes, before I realized that the large party that came after me had received their food. Meanwhile, the young man was just staring at me too and told me I should have said something earlier. In fact, they should have had my pizza ready when they was suppose to. Once I received the food it was cold and cold pizza is never a good thing. The ingredients seemed fresh, the meat was slim, and the crust was too burnt to enjoy it. Plus, the large size is more of a lunch size than a family portion. I was too tired to try to return them. I love the concept of unlimited toppings, but it means nothing if the service isn't up to standard and the pizza is mediocre. read more

The guy half-assed my pizza. He got the ingredients and just threw it on the pizza without even looking at where it was going. Half of them went on the floor, the other half on the counter. If you intend to dine whilst cruzin your phone with minimal interaction with your companions this is your joint. 'Cause you're not going to hear anyone (or yourself think) over the music. Someone mentioned in an earlier review how clean it was. Hmmm, must have been a different place. When we went this evening at 6 PM the floor was itself a pizza. The space in front of the oven was particularly gross with a small mound of ground-in greasy food bits. Tables turned over quickly and there was no time for staff to bus or clean. No clean rag crossed a table within my view the 40 minutes we were there. The food, well, okay, after experiencing MOD I get the idea. Move 'em through quick in a Henry Ford kinda way. Kinda reminded me of boot camp. As many reviewers have said before, a Chipotle or Subway kinda experience with the main feature being build it yourself. And pretty much that's what I'll tell my friends, if you want a fast food experience in pizza, with dirty floors and no possibility of conversation short of shouting, this is your place. Oh, almost forgot, "price point." So, at MOD, two pizzas, salad and two glasses of wine plus tip $46. We took home 4 slices and enough leftover salad for small serving tomorrow. Our favorite pizza joint in the county, a 17" pie, two salads and two glasses of wine plus tip $55. 4 slices go home, no salad leftover. It would cost us 9 bucks more to have a much superior pizza, good wine, nice conversation, table service (at a clean table). I don't get it. read more

Good pizza. Probably the most stressful ordering experience I've ever witnessed. It's so loud in there they you have to scream at the employees just so they can hear you not to mention the employees are screaming at each other. It's like trying to order a subway at a rock concert. I understand they want to create an atmosphere but it makes it really difficult for people to order especially if it's their first time. In the middle of paying our cashier just walked away to do another job before handing us our receipt and another lady just came up grabbed the receipt off the table and threw it away and it's so loud that we had to scream at her to get it back and she still didn't even hear and another employee had to stop her. In my opinion they should just have you fill out a card with what you want on your pizza. It would eliminate having to yell over the music and make it much faster. In the end it was very fast and the pizza was pretty good. read more

All four pizzas were burnt, they ended up refunding my money, the guy in charge was great. The girls on the line were not great personality wise nor making the pizza... The young kid at the finishing station was a little punk with an attitude since my family and I don't like burnt pizza. Went to MOD pizza for lunch today and got there before the line started so had lots of time for explanations on how to do this.....It is amazing and fun and made just the way I like it. BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, Chicken, Bacon, more Bacon, Canadian bacon, sliced tomatoes, mushrooms, Pineapple, and mozzarella cheese over the top. Once cooked then add a BBQ drizzle. YUMMY I know people have said it's kinda like subway in the sense that you pick your pizza size (personal, 11in, or 11in Double crust) then your sauce from 6 flavors which you can mix and match, cheeses, and then toppings. If you don't think they put enough toppings on then ask for more, they don't mind, but going with what they do the first time might be best as you (I did) overload it and it all falls out as you try to stuff it in your mouth. They cut the pizza into 4 slices which you can fold to eat, if you get to much topping then tough to fold. After it is all done then off to the brick oven to cook. It only takes a few minutes and you have a wonderful hot pizza with toppings and sauce that you picked and watched being made. It was so good that I went back to get one for my gf for dinner. While waiting I was told that they were out of Mushrooms, how does a pizza place run out of mushrooms? I guess that if the place is really popular then it's possible. On this occasion the store manager happened to walk by on his way out and I asked if he was going down to the store to get more mushrooms. He said we don't run out of food here. I asked the person helping me about mushrooms and she told him they were out. He looked at me and said ok your pizza is on me and gave me a free pizza. I told him that was ok but he insisted. That is great customer service and of course I will be back as all staff were very friendly and helpful. They offer a Military Discount, they have salads that look huge, gluten free with the warning of possible cross contamination, so severe allergies be warned, also milkshakes. My family & I were trying to find a lunch place that is "baby friendly" after doing a bit of shopping and stopped in here. I was very pleasantly surprised. They make your pizza (with your choice of ingredients) right in front of you. The pizza only took a few minutes and was very, very good. The staff was friendly & efficient. Lots of seating - both inside & out. It was a cold snowy day when we went so no one was sitting outside. My only complaint? I was cold sitting inside the restaurant. It's a rather large facility with lots of glass (fun for looking out) so the inside temp was cool. But I'm sure it's nice when the weather is warmer & pleasant. We will definitely be back. So yesterday, we had a slightly bad experience at this MOD Pizza, Silverdale location. They were out of some ingredients, but we didn't know until half our order was already done. I left a negative review on their feedback site around 10 pm, and not 20 minutes later, Chris B., the district manager, contacted me via email to say that he and other would take the ". . . necessary steps to ensure that all product is in stock at all times." He even offered to mail me a gift card. Wow. Very impressed. I leave feedback ALL the time at restaurants. I've NEVER had that kind of response. Way to go. The pizza is 5 stars, but the rest is a solid 3. People yell at you when you walk in, alright. It might come off friendlier if any of them smiled... ever. I was super stoked to get a mod pizza in silverdale, because I used to live in Puyallup and the south hill location was on point, always! I do think the pizza topping process would flow better if you had one person per customer, instead of 4 people per position on the make line. When you're getting your pizza topped, you walk past a make line like papa Murphy's.. but instead of one person handling your order, you have multiple people topping it. So, one guy puts on your sauce and cheese. The next does your pepperoni. And then someone else puts on your onions and mushrooms. It's just weird. I prefer the subway style where I can tell them multiple things in a row instead of telling them I want 1 of the 2 toppings that's in front of them. Chipotle does things like this too, and it just makes for a less personable experience. But yeah, the food here is good - the customer service could use a first aid kit. read more
