I used to love this spot and so my husband and I decided to come by for the first time in a while for dinner last week. We did an early dinner, about 4pm. Walked in and the place was quiet, no music, just a customer on her cell phone talking very loudly - she was dining in and ended up talking the entire time - not the restaurants problem but I asked for the music to be turned on if they had any because it was an awkward atmosphere. My husband and I ordered the scallop balsamic risotto (for me) and he got the pappardelle. The risotto was extremely under seasoned, we didn't see a speck of pepper or taste any flavor until we mixed the balsamic in but I still ended up adding in so much salt to compensate for the flavor. Scallops were perfectly cooked though. My husband's pappardelle was overcooked and mushy, also under seasoned. Did not have the flavor we are used to as this is one of his regular dishes when we've ordered in past. The waitress was nice but it felt almost like they weren't expecting customers to dine in. I wouldn't recommend dining in on a week day from our experience, but I'll still order to go every now and then. read more

We lucked out on this find! We happened to be driving through Silverdale on our way to Sequim- and we are so happy we decided to stop. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The staff is friendly and warm and service is fast and attentive. The food is excellent. From the warm bread to the eggplant parm (cooked to perfection) and the chicken piccata- my wife said was excellent. (Sorry- no pics- we devoured our meals). We were looking for good Italian food, for an anniversary celebration and a friend suggested Veneto's. It was excellent from the service, quality of food and it was delicious. We really enjoy meals at Veneto. This is about our fourth visit in the last couple of years. This small quiet restaurant with no significant frills keeps us coming back because of friendly service and quality food. The dining room is comfortable and even with a full house you can carry on a comfortable conversation with your dinner companions. The appetizer menu has many choices but we have stuck with our favorite, bruschetta. But wait, even before the appetizer you get a few slices of warm tasty bread and some dipping olive oil with herbs and balsamic vinegar. It's a great way to warm up your tastebuds. The Bruschetta is very good with ample helpings of tomatoes, basil and mozzarella. Tonight it seemed a bit shy on balsamic, we should have asked for a little more to drizzle. My wife tends to order her favorite, Chicken Marsala. It's hard to argue with her because it is always very good. Large helpings of fresh vegetables compliment the chicken covered with tasty sauce. On this night I went with something new for me, Spaghetti Bioscala. The pasta was tender and the combination of salami, mushrooms, pepper, broccoli, and tasty cream sauce was very well balanced. They have a nice dessert menu but we have yet to leave room for any. Before the tip the cost was $70 including the food and one soft drink. Pretty typical of dinner out these days, although we have another meal in our fridge! As I said, it's not fancy but we enjoy clean, fresh, friendly and efficient . Pretty good for a small family run (probably) business. There aren't really that many Italian options in Silverdale outside pizzerias, so this might be the best option. Everything is very standard and well done. The fried calamari is quite nice. The mozzarella sticks with meatballs are very standard fare, although I was hoping for more with the meatballs. The Alfredo with sausage is excellent and very filling. The carbonara is even more filling and uses real pancetta. It can be a bit salty, but I quite enjoyed it. The service is also pretty good too. Expect slow service. They're operating on a small staff. Restaurant is ran by the same family as the El Huarache Mexican restaurants in Poulsbo, Silverdale etc. Friendly folks. They've been in the restaurant business for two generations I think. They'll make sure you are pleased. It's not fine Italian dining. Do not come expecting this level of sophistication. It's a family, every day type restaurant. Think Italian-American, in terms of recipes and portions. Generally, it's good eating, you'll be satisfied, and won't walk out hungry. Almost like some cooked burrito dough and sold it as a pizza? -Asked for Parmesan, charged us 1.50 for a pathetic little container -Calzone, 20 minutes after the pizza was sent out, cut in three pieces(WTF?), cold, with uncooked, hard mushrooms and sausage that smelled like it had turned, sent this crap back. -Bench seating has collapsed in the middle, make sure you sit on the wooden frame or you'll be fall to the floor. -Staff seemed more concerned with socializing than worrying about the few customers they had on a Friday night, but it makes sense now. Small restaurant in the middle of a few others but big flavors. We really enjoyed the low key atmosphere and it seemed like everyone knew one another. Our waitress was amazing! We ordered to-go through door dash, so take that into account. I ordered eggplant Parmesan and the eggplant was a bit soggy while also tasted undercooked in some areas. What a cute little spot. Don't let the outside fool you! Even though it's located in a little strip of seemly worn down shops, this place is anything but worn down. With a little more than a dozen tables, this intimate little Italian restaurant is perfection. It's a little on the darker side inside, which gives it a romantic feel and on some nights, a lone guitarist plays gently by the door while you eat. The food is wonderful. You get a plate of bread with dipping oil when you sit down and I could eat my weight in it. Then the big show. They are great if you want to substitute a pasta type into your dish(I get angel hair with my chicken Alfredo). I've never met someone who got a dish there that they didn't love. The portions are great as well. I always end up taking some of it home to enjoy later. My only gripe that took a star is that all three times I have gone, the service is slow. It takes a while to get drinks refilled and the time between coming in, ordering and getting your food is just a tad too long. Refilling drinks is always a big thing to me. I hate to have to flag someone down to get more water. But other than that, this place is a real winner. read more

Pork osso buco - very good - meat falling off the bone, very nice sauce. Osso buco is a leg shank, and during long stewing, the marrow melts out of the bone, enriching the sauce. And Veneto's version has a lot of tasty sauce. Normally they serve this with mashed potatoes, but they mix Parmesan in, and I don't eat cheese, so I asked for a substitute. They said pasta was an alternative, but when that came, it was covered with grated cheese - they made a quick switch, within 5 minutes. You will want something to soak up this sauce - mashed potatoes is ideal. The vegetables weren't very special - blanched, cooked but still with a bit of a crunch, and dressed with butter(?) and minced garlic. Pleasant, not special. But you will come back for osso buco and that sauce. read more

We have been coming here for years! Last time the service and food was "ok" we thought it may be a fluke since we have enjoyed it for so many years. But tonight we went again and service was terrible, the salad was gross like the forgot to shake it so it was all oil! Then my husband ordered veal piccata and it came chicken, so we asked them to correct it and the chef came from the kitchen to ask if she needed to remake it.... Ummmm yes he ordered veal and got chicken! Then when he did get it, it was so tough he needed a steak knife to cut it! So, Veneto's is open 5am-12pm monday-saturday for breakfast pastries! I picked up an assortment of donuts and a breakfast burrito. The donuts are really well done. They have a lot of flavor in the actual donut and a lot of fun topping options. I picked up strawberry frosting with sprinkles, raspberry filled, pineapple filled, cinnamon sugar, and coconut. Raspberry filled donuts are my favorite and this was one of the best I've tried. The filling was a little light but had an intense raspberry flavor without being too sweet. The pineapple was the same. The strawberry and cinnamon were very tasty, too. The coconut was VERY sweet but still yummy. Sorry for the picture, I forgot to take one before I got to work and cut them up to share and try. Everyone working there was exceptionally nice (especially for it being so early!) and even gave me a little bag of donut holes for free (I'm giving them and a maple donut to my partner so I haven't tried them yet)! Do you love spaghetti so much it brings out the 5 year old in you and inside your head you scream "Pasghetti!!!" Then you need to try this place. I ordered the fried calamari and spaghetti pomodoro. I don't like sour spaghetti and was a little worried but I took my first bite and I was transported to an Italian village. The base was a delicious clam sauce.
