My husband daughter and I stayed there on 1/18/19. We dove from Washington state to see the Peter Murphy concert at the Vogue Theatre. The hotel is perfect walking distance to the Vogue theater as it is only a block over. We also appreciated the convenience of having restaurants and stores nearby. But we had a horrible night sleep. Our room on the second floor was directly above the hotel nightclub that was open until 4 AM. The music rattled our walls, we felt like our bed was right next to the juke box. When I went down to the complain to the night manger and he didn't seems to care. I would never stay here again. read more

Haven't been to Vancouver in a LONG time, so didn't really know the hotels downtown. Came across Moda and decided to give them a try. My fiance and I spent two nights there - it was VERY nice! We booked a room in the The Moda Private Rooms in Symphony Place (bathroom/bedroom, not one with a sitting area or kitchen), which is actually the building across the street from where you check in. This room was pretty amazing. Huge ceilings, flat screen TV, king size bed, and a beautiful bathroom which included a water closet, two sinks and a pretty sweet bath tub/shower with a big rain shower. The parking was secure, in the same building - for an extra charge - but well worth it. The location of Moda is great - within walking distance of Robson St. and Yaletown....and Granville St., if you're into that sort of thing on a Saturday night. They also have a great little bar - Red Card Sports Bar. Everyone at the front desk were very nice - the only downside? When checking out, it was raining and the whole lobby smelled of wet dog. But I guess that can't be helped. Oh yea, did I mention they allow dogs?? That's a good thing, by the way. read more

This is our second stay at the Moda, and both my husband and I like this place quite a bit. First let me say, it is an old (1905) building that has been remodeled. They tried to keep some of the old charm, but make it modern as well. I think they did a fair job. This is not a posh, luxurious spot, so if thats what your looking for, you will be disappointed. The rooms are average, the beds could stand a major update (thats really my only complaint), the furniture is decent, bathrooms nice and toiletries are great (and I usually LOATH hotel products)! The hotel itself seems to be filled with younger people (20-40 somethings) so you can expect a little more noise and action with this kind of crowd. It is also located on a main road, so late at night the bar crowd can get a bit noisy, if you get a room on that side be prepared to use some ear plugs. The hotel has a wine/beer store attached, as well as a nice restaraunt, and both a wine bar and sports bar, all attached. The front desk staff is helpful and nice as well. Final, the best part of this hotel is LOCATION, LOCATION! 10 minutes or less by foot to anything, 10 min to YaleTown, 10 minutes to waterfront, 10 minutes anywhere!! Bottom line, if you are coming up to enjoy the city for a night, want to be in the middle of the action, this is the spot for you! If you are looking for more of a relaxed, quite, night away from city action, keep lookin! read more

This is a decent hotel conveniently located in downtown. Staff was very friendly and over all the hotel was clean. We stayed in a king room in the corner with the street views. Size of the room was good but the bathroom was way too small for a king room this room has red carpet which looked kind of dirty. It was okay to stay for one night for the price. read more

Argh, I hate it when I give a business the benefit of the doubt and then it fails me. Yelp reviewers, you were right, this place disappoints! Pros (a very short list) ... 1) Great location downtown 2) Affordable 3) Updated decor and clean Cons ... 1) Rude night staff person! My bro and I arrived around 1am at the hotel to join our family who arrived earlier in the day and I just mentioned the room number to the front desk person so he knows I'm not some random crasher. Instead of focusing on verifying the name of guest staying at that room, you know, for security reasons, he was determined in ensuring we get charged for being the 3rd & 4th person in the room. [Disclaimer: My family had no complaints when they checked in and we had no issues when checking out so it must just be the night staff!] 2) Super Loud! I know we're staying downtown but the noise from the street was very distinct and unacceptable. Also, their bar/lounge downstairs BLASTED music till 2:30am on a THURSDAY NIGHT. I wore my ear plugs and I still couldn't sleep. 3) Rooms are tiny; I have stayed in several other city's boutique hotels and this must be the smallest double bed room I have seen. 4) Free wifi was a joke, it was so weak that you had to standing at certain spots to get an iffy connection or have no connection at all. 5) The slowest elevator which didn't allow more than a couple of people at a time. You were better off dragging your suitcase up and down the stairs, which I did. Thank goodness we were only there one night before departing for our cruise. This was my first visit to Vancouver and am planning to go back as I only had the morning to roam around before our cruise, but I am definitely not staying at Moda next time. read more

My husband and I have stayed 3 times at Moda and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The location is wonderful if you're looking to take advantage of being downtown and all the fun/excitement (and some noise) that goes along with it. It's right in the middle of downtown, within walking distance to all the bars, restaurants and shops you could want. The rooms are clean, well lit, and have nice TV's and coffee makers. It's a 'boutique' type hotel, so the rooms are not HUGE, but they're definitely comfortable. Parking is literally ACROSS THE STREET in a garage - no 5 mile hike, just one crosswalk and an elevator. No big deal! For a downtown location parking is usually a huge hassle, and this was easy as pie. Plus you get in/out privileges! They've got fabulous soap/shampoo samples from a little company called Skoah. The stuff is WONDERFUL and smells so good. Pricy if you go try and buy it online, but I really enjoy the hotel sample sizes during our stays at Moda. We have yet to try the dining room or the little wine bar, but it is definitely on our list. Apparently the restaurant gets great reviews - we've just always had evening plans. Great hotel, great location, reasonable price, fabulous staff. This is our #1 pick if we're heading to Vancouver for a night/weekend. read more

There are a lot of good things about the Moda and a lot of not so good things about the Moda. Notice "not so good" - not bad...just not good. Not very fast. -Small rooms - we're talking college dorm size -No real dresser, just a very small closet -No luggage stand, just a square poof -Door is very thin - we could hear a lot of what was going out in the hall - talking, vacuuming -No fridge -No microwave -No continental breakfast, but offers a resturant Overall, the Moda is really for those who are going to be out and about while visiting Vancouver and are here for a quick visit. Was here for one night in a King Suite at the beginning of the year. The location was great, everything was situated to the North & East side. The hotel was renovated in a trendy, modern style. The room was really big with a gorgeous bathroom, big living room area, and a comfortable bed. Price was also very reasonable for the size of the room (~140CAD). Everything is true to the photos on its website as well as booking.com. Staff is courteous and you can leave your luggage with them before/after stay. A little downside: when we were going into our room, linens and towels were just piled outside of some rooms with no staff around. They did disappear after two hours. Some of the furniture in the living area were also a little worn. Tip: the drinks and coffee maker are inside the closet next to the bed - a little weird but that closet space is huge. read more

The location is perfect for downtown Vancouver. The rates are also very affordable for the location. The rooms are small, but who cares, you'll only use it to sleep; the rooms are neatly kept and clean. Contemporary decor gets extra points with me. The only thing I did not like was the fact that the room doesn't ventilate well and it got stuffy, but just press a few buttons and AC goes on to fix it. They provide garage parking just a half a block from the hotel. As others have mentioned, you have easy access to a wine bar, a sports bar, an Italian restaurant, and a wine and beer store. For our vacation in Vancouver, we chose a hotel close to BC Place and the other activities we had planned. Moda was reasonably priced and looked kind of classy, in a 1940's fashion, so we booked a week. Upon our arrival, we were hopelessly lost looking for parking. Eventually, my wife dropped me off inside to figure out where the hell we were supposed to park. Parking for the hotel is half a bock down the street in the upper level of a small parking garage. After parking, we found our way into the small hotel lobby. Moda prides itself on it's old style accommodations. pipes run outside of the ceilings, and there's one elevator that services the entire building. It's passenger limit is literally two. The primary means of going up is a set of stairs, which is okay when we're heading out to eat or sightsee, but for carrying luggage, we decided to wait for the elevator. Everything looked clean and well-maintained. Upon arriving in our room, we were treated to a lovely view of...STAPLES! I mean, I know it's downtown, but next time I think I'll look for a stadium view. The room itself was actually pretty nice. Two flat screen HDTVs, bigger living room styled area and a decent sized bed. The dressers were inside the closets, so behind using the dressers and some small space on the side, the closets weren't great. The bathroom space had a lot of stuff in it, but it was all packed close together. There was a tub, two sinks and a walk in shower, but it was a bit difficult for two people to move around in there. For the most part, our stay was pretty comfortable. The main thing we had an issue with was the Wifi. The connection was spotty on a good day. The hotel also features a wine bar, upscale Italian restaurant and a sports bar on the first floor of the building, which each of which is a great way to wind down the evening. Overall, Moda is a pretty good place to stay when visiting Vancouver. My only regret is that I didn't say 'M'yah, see?' when I was staying here. read more

Basic but comfortable accommodation in the heart of Downtown Vancouver, very reasonable for the price and location. We walked everywhere within our two day stay (stadiums, shopping, restaurants, Stanley Park and Granville Island) and didn't have to use any public transport, though this is easily accessible too. Wifi was reliable though timed out after 10 minutes of no use. Only downside was the paper thin walls which meant we heard other guests either very early in the morning or late at night. Housekeeping also came at 8am which we thought was very early - these holidayers were still in bed!!! I'd encourage guests to make good use of the do not disturb sign in this instance. Would stay again when I'm back in this beautiful city. read more

TINY, old rooms that are reminiscent of a Brooklyn studio but the location is great and 2 blocks away from Pacific Centre. The Wi-Fi is spotty but there are K-cups along with the standard amenities. Still it has a certain hipster charm and the price is about 2/3 that of the standard City Centre room. The staff are generally friendly and parking is only about $14/day. It's not great but a very reasonable value, especially if you are not very pick about your accommodations No gym but you can purchase a gym pass at Steve Nash on Granville St. for $10 CAD/day. read more

Overall, a pleasant stay. The rooms here are quite small and can comfortably fit two people. Cute but all the piping overhead and along the walls kind of throw you off. Bathrooms are a good size and the staff here is very friendly. I actually found a cheaper rate online after we booked and they were nice enough to give us the lower rate without hesitation. Complaints - the hotel was quite difficult to find. There are black awnings all around with one that reads "hotel" so we circled the block a few times before finding it. Then, we couldn't figure out where to park so while my friends pulled over, I had to go inside and ask the front desk. NOTE FOR FUTURE HOTEL STAYERS - parking is across the street in the Symphony parking structure with the red and white sign. Park on the top floor and remember your license plate number. The biggest complaint is the super slow elevator. There are only 4 floors and 1 elevator so why does it go so slow?? While we were leaving to check out, we waited a good 4-5 minutes. Ridiculous. Oh, and the lobby is tiny. The hotel is in a decent location since we found a few good pubs and bars around the area but I would have liked it closer to downtown. read more

The hotel is in a great location! The staff is friendly and somewhat helpful. They gave the hotel a face lift room was clean! The few issues I had was it's a bit noise, walls are thin,bed was hard and uncomfortable, and the bathtub was uneven and a little weird to stand on and can slip really easily! But the biggest one is they charge $14.00 a day for parking!! Also I did hear someone complaining about there heater not working in there room. But ours worked just fine! read more

I really liked the Moda hotel, when we stayed here they were just finishing up construction. The hotel is very nice and extremely modern. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The front desk clerk gave me her personal umbrella while she worked because it was raining outside. The hotel is in a great location, close to public transportation and the great downtown shopping that Vancouver offers. We booked the room off Hotel.com and got the room at a super low rate, from what I understand we got more the 50 percent off. I'm heading back to Vancouver this summer and I will definitely be staying here. read more

Recently spent a night in town and this hotel was better then expected. The rooms were $99 Canadian and despite the other reviews, both of the rooms we had were good sized, I would guess 18' X 15' They were clean and nicely appointed. The parking seemed reasonable at $14.00 with in and out privileges. So right now, you must be asking yourself, "Why Gary are you only giving this one star?" And the answer is because I have to. I would give this no stars if possible because of the heating situation. There is no air conditioning in the hotel and a single thermostat for the entire 3rd floor. Please trust me when I say the temperature in the room had to be a minimum of 85 degrees the entire night. It was stifling in the rooms. The windows did open, but then the noise from Seymour Street became unbearable. I got maybe 50 minutes of sleep the whole night. When I mentioned this at the front desk, the response was less then stellar. Will I stay there again-- sure, but only after asking if they have completed the H/V/AC upgrades. read more

Front desk guy was a tool who thought he was European cool guy suave, he wasn't. No control of heating or A/C in 3rd floor room, very hot & stuffy! Bed's are hard and rooms are rather small. TV is small and mounted far away. NOISY!!! Had to have windows open to cool room and drunk retarded Canadians parading down the street all night is not very enjoyable. I would not stay here again. If you want a quiet, good nights rest then this is not the place! Kept getting woke up through out the night by screaming drunks and cars honking & sirens blaring. Giving this place a very solid 4 stars. We booked a suite, it was definitely worth the extra cash. Having a big living space is a great thing. We had a full size living room area with flat screen. A separate bedroom with sliding doors for some privacy and a good size bathroom with his and her sinks. In the room the heating system could have worked a little better but that was offset by having a portable heater in the room. The wifi is quite spotty so watch for that, you could incur major charges if roaming. I went to bed connected to their wifi only to wake up hours later to find out I was kicked off. The staff was extremely helpful, efficient and very friendly. The small lobby has a bit of a plush feeling to it, I like that. On the hotel premises there are 3 restaurants, no need to go far to grab a bite to eat or to have a drink. They vary in price range and in ambiance, so there something to please every traveler, I feel. There is a great hotel liquor store on site as well. Prices are a little high. But, it's a place to buy liquor, so, if you don't want to look elsewhere it's worth the extra bucks. In Canada liquor is not sold in regular grocery stores. You must purchase liquor from government stores or privately owned stores. All in all this hotel gets my vote for great value. I would stay here again. read more

I was a bit surprised at how much smaller the rooms were than most hotels I've stayed, but for a slightly cramped downtown boutique hotel I'll give props to the adorable decor and excellent location. We were just one block away from Granville street with all the shops, clubs, bars, and restaurants. Service was satisfactory as I was greeted with a smile each time I entered or left the hotel. And the concierge guy wasn't angry at all when i set the alarm off after accidently opening a fire exit door to a balcony and locked myself outside. heh :) The only cons to this place were the parking, which really was a headache and will hinder me from giving this place a 4 or 5 star. We were at first, unclear of the rules of parking for the place. The hotel and parking were also difficult to find. The elevator was terribly slow but luckily I was on the 2nd floor so I didn't even bother with the elevator. I definitely think I shouldn't have paid as much as I should have per night for staying here though.. read more

I'd say that this place deserves 3.5 stars. Negatives: There isn't much signage on the front of the building so it is easy to miss. They have more signs for the bar/restaurant downstairs than for the hotel itself. We drove passed the hotel twice because there was no marking to indicate that the hotel was anywhere in sight. Also, parking is difficult to find too because, again, no signs. The parking lot is in a separate building across the street. What we ended up doing was parking our car temporarily to walk around to find the hotel. Once we found it, we checked in and they gave us directions about the location of their parking lot. Another negative is that they put us on the second floor where the window faced another building's heater/ac system. We kept hearing a humming sound. When we went downstairs to change rooms, I explained to the front desk people about the situation. They blankly stared at us, said nothing and then asked to get our room keys to switch us. Customer service was not great, given that the front desk people were not the most personable. They however, efficiently solved our issue. The one other issue I had was that their blow dryer didn't work. Why have appliances in the room if it doesn't work? Positives: The second room that we got was great. There was no buzzing/humming sound. The room was fine. It was pretty clean and big enough for two. We weren't bothered by the noise in the room even though it faced a busy street. It was good white noise versus the original hum. I loved that they had a kurig machine in the room. In the morning, I enjoyed some delicious fresh made coffee before heading down to breakfast. This hotel also gave us $20 to spend on breakfast. The breakfast was delicious and pretty affordable after the voucher. I ordered the polenta and eggs. It was delicious and beautifully made. It was a very filling breakfast. Even though parking was hard to find, I appreciated their parking privileges. They allowed us to park there until 6 p.m the day of check in. This was very convenient since parking in downtown is so expensive. Lastly, this hotel is very centrally located so you can pretty much walk to Stanley Park/Robson Street/bus over to Granville. As an architect, I can really get down with modern, minimalist spaces, however, Moda just didn't do it all that well. It looks nice enough on the interior but it is definately lacking that comfortable feel that you sometimes need while visiting a bustling city. Luckily you can shut the huge, thick curtains in the room to shut out the city noises and lights or you can pull them back and throw open the windows to let it all in. Yes, the room was smallish, but not any smaller than any other hotel in any other metropolitan city I've stayed in. You could definately tell this building was an older building that had been updated. As far as location goes, this is about as central as you can get! It is literally one street off of the main drag, Granville St. This would be ideal if you are interested in going out at night, as there are bars and clubs in very close proximity. I would have preferred to stay on the north side of the downtown area with a room overlooking Vancouver Harbour. You live and you learn! I don't understand how this hotel could possibly be hard to find, as the city is on a grid. At first you may not understand how the check-in procedure works, as there is no designated lane for unloading luggage and you can't exactly leave your car unattended while you check-in. Go ahead and go the next block north and pull into the parking garage. Go to the top of the garage and try really frikkin hard to cram into their absolutely ridiculously small parking spaces. DON"T FORGET YOUR LICENSE PLATE NUMBER! Otherwise you will be hiking back across the street and up the stairs after checking-in to write it down. Such a pain in the ass! The front desk folks were nice enough, apologizing that we had to go back and write our license plate number down. They even had arranged flower petals in a heart-shape on the bed and a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket at my BFs request (it was my 30th birthday afterall!). But they were not smart enough to not mention payment for it all in front of me! Oh well. We heard that the restaurant just off the lobby was award winning. but we wanted to see Vancouver so we left the hotel and ate elsewhere. The bar looked pretty good too. I'd stay here again, but only if the price wsa right! read more

This hotel is great for a weekend stay when you won't be spending too much time in the room. The staff is helpful and it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The room was small, we got a double bed and there wasn't much room to move around. The wifi is a bit annoying because it logs you out every few minutes and you have to log in again each time. The beds aren't super comfy but it was simple! It was a clean room that comes with a keurig, flat screen tv, and a desk. We went to breakfast downstairs and the restaurant was super cute with great food. I was very impressed with the ambiance and reasonable price for a restaurant connected to a hotel. I would definitely stay here again! I would recommend shopping and if you like sushi there is a great sushi place .5 miles away called hiyori sushi! Go! read more

We lucked into this hotel. Yes, it is a boutique hotel which means the rooms are very small. Hopefully you aren't spending too much time in your room while you're in Vancouver. So this room size shouldn't be too much of an issue. It's a perfectly adequate space to rest your head. The location is superb. We loved rolling out of bed in the morning and strolling downstairs for an amazing cappuccino and pastry each morning. I especially enjoyed the croissants. We had dinner there one night and a larger breakfast too. Both meals were delicious. The BAR though! What can I say?! What's not to love? If you love craft cocktails this place is for you. We loved exploring their menu and having the bartenders whip up various drinks for us. The vibe inside was loud but full of laughter, conversation and music on certain nights (not every night we were there). It was comfortable and romantic inside. I loved being able to walk upstairs to my room when were done, instead of having to brace the cold rain. The hotel was cheap, in a convenient location and with great amenities I wouldn't stay anywhere else. I will definitely stay here again when we return. read more

The best thing about the hotel is the great location. It's in walking distance to Granville and Robson streets. There's a nice market close by if you want snacks for your room. Liquor store and restaurants attached to the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is small and basic. Fridge and a safe which are useful features. Negatives: The shower head is really low. You have to stand like Steve Urkel in the shower in order to wash your hair. No fitted sheet on the bed and the sheets that are on are a bit stained. Would I stay here again?! For a really good price, perhaps. read more

The ambient urban noise did not bother me, but I'm the type who likes to open the windows at night to let in the hub bub, fire up a pot of coffee, and do some "film noir" journaling. A+ for location! Free WiFi also a huge plus. The only complaint would be the sizing of the rooms. We had a double room with two fulls. Aside from the beds, there was little room left for movement! Also, I noticed peeling paint which is separate of the fact that it is a dated historic building. A fresh coat never hurt anybody. The elevator is also tiny, the warning stated a max of 2 passengers with 2 pieces of luggage per. Service was good, nothing above and beyond but compliant. We were greeted every time we returned and requests were fulfilled (i.e. request for a spoon!). The location made it easy to hail a cab and is within 10 minutes walking distance to the major shopping areas and markets. There is a liquor store conveniently located right next to the Moda and there is also a wine bar adjecent to the lobby of the hotel called UVA. They make excellent breakfast there, highly recommend the frittatas. read more

Stayed here while visiting from California. I was not impressed with the hotel. Especially what we paid. There is absolutely no bathroom space to do hair or makeup. I had to do mine on the bed. Secondly, the whole bed situation was an utter nightmare. No fitted sheets and old blankets as a comforter - totally grossed me out - unknown if blankets were washed. Bed was too firm, felt like an old mattress. The walls are paper thin, so do not come here on a honeymoon or romantic getaway, neighbors will hear your business. As I am writing this, I can actually hear someone taking a shower. "/ So yourself a favor, save some money and find a hotel with better quality. My Aunt chose this place for our Vancouver get away. She is not used to in making a good pick on which hotel to stay and to get her money's worth. We stayed here for a night & would not imagine staying another night or longer. The room is so small, old, stinks & outdated. You would feel like you are in a warehouse seeing a water sprinkler pipe protruding on the ceiling. The bathroom is so small & when you are sited on the toilet bowl you don't have a room to move. The bathroom stinks as week & the tub paint is peeling off. Over all this place should be demolished & rebuilt. Not worth it, don not waste your money. Since it is situated along one of the main streets you could hear cars noises. I would't recommend this place. No, no, no!!! Spare your money to a better hotel..... read more

Whoah. Cute hotel BUT.... Lets start on the good note. The rooms were cute and clean. Looks to be newly renovated too. Its a very cute boutique hotel. Its in a great location - close to everything. However, with the great location comes great sacrifice. We got in late on Friday night and found ourselves in P-A-R-T-Y central. Which wasn't too bad. The hotel must be old because you can hear EVERYTHING. We were on the 2nd floor and above us must have been a room with wood floors and our upstairs neighbors elephants. They gave us comp ear plugs when we checked in and now we know why! We literally heard them drop a coin at 6AM on Sunday and it was seriously loud. Also, the elevator is from like the 50's or something because its really, really slow and old. Mixed reviews about the staff. The girl when we checked in was on crack or something - albeit nice. And the girl in the morning was really very nice and helpful directing us where to go around the city. All in all, the price was great and it was a good location. But I wouldn't stay there again if I can help it. read more

Need somewhere cheap to crash downtown? This is your place :D This place is a you get what you pay for hotel. It is older, and is sometimes loud. But when you get a room for less than $100, I think you should be pleased it is clean and the staff are nice. The skoah products are nice! I really liked this hotel. It's a gorgeous, cozy boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver for a super reasonable price. It really doesn't get any better than this! Yes, the rooms are small; but they're comfortable. And if you're not spending your whole time in the room, then does it really matter HOW big the rooms are?! I got a king size bed room on a weekend night for about $120!! Positives: Comfy bed, clean, friendly staff, location Negatives: Sink leaked so badly we needed a room change, thin walls & door so you hear people everywhere, restaurant below so you hear lots of noise again, smallest shampoo/conditioner bottles ever made, no view unless you count the apartment looking into our room, 1 ice machine If you have to stay here then it's clean so go ahead. A solid budget-type hotel. Rooms are smaller than the chain hotels, but clean, convenient and quiet. I was here on business and it was central to everything. The staff was super helpful, helping me get a cab very early in the morning and with printing of my boarding pass. Would stay here again. read more

Solid downtown hotel. I enjoyed the quality of the room, which I thought was rather spacious for being downtown. The elevator sucks, so we only used it to get our bags upstairs. Taking the stairs for the rest of the trip was probably for the best. Parking is on Seymour, past the Moda on the right. We parked on the 4th level, removed all valuables, and gave the parking spot number and license plate to the front desk. Call before hand to make sure that hasn't changed. read more

Typical 3* hotel. Close to everything in downtown vancouver. Loud noise from fans/AC units even from fourth floor on the backside of hotel. Very little counter space in bathroom. Staff is courteous and helpful. Room is small but clean. Wifi is not that strong. read more

I feel indifferent about this place. Its like an old place that they tried to make look hip but still has the old creepy feel. The room itself looks modern but has no heat or ac. They have a fan chillin in or the corner in case you need it. And the hallway and overall feel of the hotel is old yet modern? I don't know how to exactly explain it. The rooms are each decorated with a schemed color. Like red/brown/black. When you look on the website they make the rooms look waaay larger than in person. The hotel room was smaller than my room at home. And the view from our window was the dumpster. I guess we were just unlucky. The perks is that it is really reasonable and right in the heart of Vancouver so you can walk to most of the shopping and restaurants. ..the walls are really thin. so don't get too crazy. i heard waaay to much in one night. read more

I have mixed reviews on this hotel. The hotel is nice and modern with personable staff. The hotel is close to the Yale Town and great sushi. However, this hotel was extremely loud and hot. The room is small, which is not a big deal, but with no air conditioning the room becomes hot quickly. Our room windows opened up to the bus stop; therefore if we left the window open it was too loud to sleep, but if we closed the window it was too hot to sleep. Even with the windows closed it was loud. My boyfriend was unable to fall asleep until about 4 in the morning. Also, I was never told that there was a cost for parking until i got the bill. I know majority of cities you have to pay for parking, so not a huge deal. But it would have been nice to have been notified. If you like decor over sleeping then this is the place for you. read more

PROS: The best thing about this hotel is the great downtown location! It is close to many restaurants and tourist attractions, so we did not have the need to rent a car. The hotel is older and could use some renovations. The rooms are small but comfortable. Staff at reception counter were courteous. We were able to leave all our bags before checking in, so we could explore the city. They provide cable tv and Internet. Affordable cost of $100.00CAD per night. CONS: I am updating my review to 3 based on the following: The hotel is so small that you can literally hear everything outside your room. Last night, people came back from partying and we're having a conversation in the hallway right next to my door, which was 3 steps from my bed. Needless to say, I was woken up and could not go back to sleep for a while. Also, I could hear the alarm clock from the people next door. Not a place you can rest all night. read more

Small but cute. Clean, quiet and charming. If you want a huge giant North American hotel, go to the best western. This is great for young couples looking for a lovely experience à la mode in Vancouver. The price was a bit stiff (we didn't get this $99 that everyone else got!), but if money is no object..... Branché et à la mode, ainsi le nom. Les chambres sont charmantes mais petites, quand même cela m'a pas trop dérangé.
