I came in for what I thought was a simple hem. I just needed a pretty standard, floor length wedding guest dress shortened a few inches. It took three re-measurements across three visits to get it the correct length. On my third visit when it was still dragging on the ground I was told the steamer lengthening the material was to blame. As I needed the dress for a wedding, I waited at the store about 30 minutes while it was re-hemmed a third time. I should have paid more attention when I tried on the dress a final time at the store but was in a rush to get back to work at that point. At the wedding, I realized the hem was done crooked so the dress goes to the ground on the left side but is about 3/4 an inch off the ground on the right side. The lady who works at the store was very nice and accommodating in an attempt to correct the mistakes each time, but I definitely wouldn't trust going back here again, especially for anything more complex than a hem. read more

I was in a rush because I had a wedding out of town and when everyone else said it wasn't enough time to get it altered, she told me to drive over. Wow!! I am so happy my daughter and I discovered this lovely little French decor boutique. Front of the shop has two fitting rooms, a sitting area, and a tailor's step riser (platform) to stand on in the center of the room. Suzanna is fabulous and friendly. Best kept secret has gotten out that she's really good so she's quite popular. But even if she has other costumers she'll welcome you right in and there is never a wait. Hidden in plain sight, Hernandez Brothers is as difficult to find as any place on a major thoroughfare. There is a tree that obstructs the entire width of the entrance, and their signage is minimal. Regardless, the Hernandez Brothers have a fiercely loyal following - it's not uncommon to hear "Perfect!" or "Outstanding fit!" after customers try on their tailored clothes (I'm not kidding). Most importantly, Joe is extremely friendly (I did not meet John) and welcomes clients with a genuine smile, a handshake and an anecdote or two - "we've been here since before you were born" is a recent quip. I don't think 5 stars is nearly enough and wish I could give more. I have been going to Suzanna and her team for all of my alterations for years and they have done an amazing job on every single alteration I needed done. She is the sweetest, most hardworking, and most talented tailor I have ever gone to. Most recently, I needed to have a dress that I wore for my engagement photos altered. Aside from raising the hemline, the top half from waist up need to be taken as it was too large for me. Suzanna walked me through every alteration that would need to be done to the top half and made sure that I approved of it. She was able to raise and shorten the circumference of the neckline after carefully removing and reattaching the beaded embroidery. She also took in the armholes and the back of the dress which necessitated being able to very carefully deal with a mesh material. I wish I head a better photo of the back of the dress after alterations (especially without the pesky inner straps showing after shifting position) but believe me when I say that she was able to miraculously retain the design of the back of the dress as pictured on the model. I do not trust anyone other than Suzanna for my alterations, especially something as intricate as my engagement dress. read more

I've tasked her with crazy garment reconstruction and each time the result is perfect. Today, I stopped in to pick up my very torn curtain panel, made from a vintage Sari that I brought back from India many years ago. Sadly, Suzanna couldn't fix it.
