I am late posting this but I contacted Modern Accent Wall to give me an estimate on 2 walls. After being visited by Wayne I decided to hire the company to perform the work. I am so glad I did! I am not an easy customer to please. I am very picky. If I am paying for it, I want what I want. Walter, Antone and crew came in and did a phenomenal job! I am more than satisfied. Mistakes were made due to misunderstandings but they were corrected and I only mention this because they listed to what I wanted and although it was more work the items were corrected... without attitude..without delay... with a smile. They were respectful of my home. They rehung my fireplace. Walter went above and beyond for me. I could tell they wanted me to be happy. I was more than happy. I am grateful. When I look at my walls I smile. That is the most a customer can ask for and they delivered. I have no regrets. I highly recommend this company based on my experience. read more

We live in Dumfries, VA and we were given a 5-7 day estimate to complete the project with 2 people working the task. On day 1 we had 2 workers for half a day then they scaled down to just 1 for the remainder of the project. The young man did an excellent job on his own but worked each day until around 8pm which was unacceptable. Each night I asked him to wrap up as it was getting late. The project was completed in almost double the estimate with just one person. The office contacted my wife at least 3 times to ask for final payment when the project was not close to being finished. I give them credit that the final product was beautiful but post-production support is non-existent. Shortly after completion, one of the recessed lights that were installed stopped working. I contacted the office via phone and email to request follow-up support to either repair or replace the light fixture. I was asked by Mr. RD (name withheld), their Experience Controller, to provide pictures of the project to show which light stopped working. I provided those via email on 30 July. He acknowledged receipt on 30 July and responded by stating, "I have received photos passing to leadership team for review and will be in contact to schedule that service." During a phone call Mr. D around the same time he stated that the earliest they would be able to get to me is 21 August. I had not heard from the team and on 24 August I emailed to follow-up and request getting scheduled. I did not receive a response to my email. On 2 September I called and left a voicemail yet, I have not received a call back. I will hire an electrician to make the repair. Based on this experience I cannot and would not, in good conscious, recommend Modern Accent Wall to anyone. read more

I didn't ask for a brand origin story; I asked for pricing and information about the work I wanted done. After sitting through an unnecessarily long sales process, they finally provided a quote that was significantly inflated -- especially considering the scope of the project. The work in question would not take professionals more than a few hours, yet the pricing was presented as if I was commissioning a full renovation. For a company whose sole focus is accent walls, I expected realistic and industry-consistent estimates, not a high-pressure sales tactic followed by a number that made no sense. The entire experience felt less like a customer service interaction and more like an upsell attempt. I walked away with no confidence in their pricing, their approach, or their understanding of a straightforward request. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience working with this accent wall company. I hired them to install a specific accent wall design, but the final result was not what was agreed upon. The design installed was incorrect and did not match the original plan or expectations discussed prior to the project. After bringing the issue to the owner's attention, I was initially assured that the problem would be corrected. Based on that assurance, I moved forward in good faith. Unfortunately, the owner later declined to fix the issue and did not honor the commitment that was made. To make matters worse, I had to make clear to office rep how unprofessional it was for me to keep calling in order to speak with the owner. I also had to spend additional money out of pocket to clean up after the installation and purchase materials costing $4400 to correct the problem myself. What's most frustrating isn't just the mistake--it's the lack of accountability and follow-through. Mistakes can happen, but standing behind your work and honoring your word is what defines good customer service. I am reaching out to express my profound disappointment with how our project has been handled. Although we have discussed these issues before, I want to provide a detailed overview of the timeline and the ongoing concerns to clarify the reasons behind our dissatisfaction. They are now ignoring our emails since they have been paid in full and are not trying to correct their error. I have a letter from a professional who stats it was not painted correctly and that is why it is streaked. I have sent our Interior Decorator's email to them and they have made no attempt to correct the problem. On September 27, 2024, we submitted a deposit of $2,483. At no point prior to signing the contract were we informed that the project would be interspersed with work on other homes. We were assured the project would take one week; however, on the third day, one of your team members informed my husband, Rodney, that it would take longer due to drying time for the drywall. This was the first of many unexpected delays and inconsistencies in communication. Following a series of back-and-forth conversations and assurances from your team, the project has continued well beyond the initial timeline with numerous issues remaining unresolved. On October 28, after additional delays, we observed that several aspects of the work were incomplete or subpar, including an improperly installed TV, a misaligned fireplace, uneven painting, and poor drywall finishing. Rodney reached out to both of you via email and text message, attaching videos and photos to convey our concerns. While we appreciated the prompt response from you both in visiting our home the next day, our concerns were again acknowledged but not resolved to our satisfaction. Despite assurances that the project would be completed to the standards displayed on your website, we have continued to encounter delays, substandard work, and inconsistent communication about completion dates. On Friday, November 1, 2024, we discussed with Wayne three options: 1. Your company could remove the unit and refund our deposit, given that the work does not meet our expectations. 2. Discount the project to allow us to find a more suitable company to finish the job to a professional standard. 3. Phil and Wayne could oversee the project directly with your top staff to ensure quality completion. Wayne confirmed that the third option was agreeable, and Tuesday was the completion date scheduled. Yet, upon our inspection, we found that the issues persisted. Even after placing blue tape on areas requiring attention, the problems were not properly addressed. To add to the frustration, my husband was asked to settle the remaining balance while the project was still incomplete. Out of consideration, Rodney agreed to pay half, with the understanding that the remaining issues would be addressed. Phil's explanation that further curing time would improve the paint was initially convincing to Rodney. Rodney, trusting the Phil's explanation, made the final payment, though the quality of the work does not align with our expectations or your company's promises. After further research, reputable industry professionals have since confirmed that additional layers of paint and proper technique were necessary to prevent the streaks and paint inconsistencies we are seeing. Due to these extensive delays and quality concerns, we have had to repeatedly postpone our bedroom renovations, and our garage remains full of new furniture awaiting installation. As a Realtor accustomed to overseeing professional work on new builds, I am deeply disappointed with the workmanship we have experienced. At this point, I am requesting a $1,000 refund to hire another company to achieve the level of excellence promised. This seems a reasonable and fair resolution after the lost time and frustration we have experienced in this process. We look forward to your response as soon as possible so we can move forward and finally complete our project. This is the email we sent and they responded the project is complete. Unprofessional and dishonest experience. I paid a $3,000 deposit but canceled the next day--well within their three-day cancellation policy--because the deal didn't feel right. The representative, who was pushy and arrogant, assured me I'd receive a refund within 5-7 days. I never received it, and they stopped responding to my calls and emails. Two weeks later, another employee called to schedule the work, despite my prior cancellation. My credit card company ultimately had to dispute the charge and issue a refund because the company never replied. I do not recommend doing business with them. I stand on everything I wrote. BEWARE!!! I am truly disgusted with Modern Accent Walls. I found Modern Accent Walls, on social media- my big mistake! I was given a quote, of best price today if you sign, or another price if you think about it another day. I should had chosen neither! Let's start with the issues, I was told that I had to purchase my own television, and fireplace. Second, on the first day of install, the worker mentioned my wall outlet, need to be moved forward, so their" electrician will call me in a few hours. The guys worked a few hours, and had to leave, since they couldn't complete the build-out. I called my electrician, once the guys left my house, and the outlet was moved within an hour. Modern Accent Walls, electrician NEVER, called me. The next day, I waited until 9:30am, and I wondered why the guys hadn't arrived. I called the office, waiting for someone to answer, at the same time, I received a text stating, the guys will be out around 12:30. I was upset and asked to speak to the owner; Wayne. Wayne did not call me back, so I called the next day. I was told the guys had to install an electric outlet at someone else house. My electric was done!! Wayne mentioned that I would be his contact, and would stop by my house, he never showed up!!! I was told by Gary, the project would take no more than four days. My wall unit took almost three weeks to complete. Modern Accent Walls, had me waiting for days for the unknown arrival. I was told I would have a mantel, made by the carpenters, then I was told they had to order it. And yes, it looks cheap. I had to remind the guys to paint the mantel as well. I told Sandy, that I wanted a discount for all the time they wasted, and lies, and she replied we don't give discounts. And.... I am still picking up cigarettes butts off my grass, and driveway. I caught the person on my ADT camera. I wouldn't refer this company to anyone. read more
